Hotel is poorly kept, in need of repair and staff is unmotivated. This hotel is an industrial hotel of poor quality in need of repair. The staff clerkis unmotivated. This is a 1-star hotel at best!

Watch out for the desk clerks! They disregard online travel website "Good Buy" pre-paid reservations and insist on an alternate form of payment ("It's state law"), so you end up getting billed twice. And the company is slow to resolve the dispute. Location: Very hard to find because they do not have a sign! The room: Our "non-smoking room" smelled heavily of Febreeze and had a cigarette butt on the floor. In addition, the bathroom was moldy, there was prescription medication left in the nightstand drawer and a half-melted piece of candy inside the phone book. The furniture was badly arranged - made getting in the door difficult. TV/Cable reception was fuzzy on every channel. Outdoor walkways needed a good scrubbing - filthy.

The Quality Inn was anything but Quality. The hotel room appeared dirty, in the dry wall closest to the bathroom beyond the second double bed. The TV did not work. The carpet stains were nothing compared to the rusty safety pins lying on the floor of the bathroom. The door and the window opened to the outside walkway of the hotel, and lucky me stayed in one of the rooms, which opened to the dark hallway where the emergency stairs from the back of the hotel came up to meet the ice maker and the coke machine.

Nice continental breakfast. The room, especially the bathroom was very dirty. My son got stuck in the bathroom. I called the front desk and they said use a nickel and twist it in the slot on the outside of the doorknob (I felt like this happened quite often). When that did not work, the person from the front desk came and could not get it opened either. Another lady was called in, and finally a man (possibly the owner) - and he finally took the knob off the door. My 11 year old son was stuck in the bathroom for quite a while - I was very angry. The bathroom still had a dirty towel in it when we arrived. There was also hair everywhere all over the floor of the bathroom. The baseboards in the room and bathroom were disgusting. This is the absolute worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Motel is located BEHIND Shoney's, just off I-10, and is easily overlooked. No sign on the main road to indicate where it is located. Coffee maker in room didn't have a coffee pot King bed had only two small (12"X12") pillows. Couldn't get any more from the staff. Alarm Clock didn't work and couldn't be set Front desk ignored wakeup call request One small plastic cup and one small bar of soap for the two of us This place apparently hasn't recovered from the hurricanes yet... probably still working on RITA (2005) recovery along with this years IKE (2008). Overall Impression: A Poorly run DUMP!

If you're just traveling through and need to save on money this place is really nice and clean. We have stayed 3x now in the same room right off the pool. Rooms are smaller than most, so not too good if you have kids but for couples and singles it's not bad. The extra 20-40 we save by staying here allows us to eat at really nice restaurants.

The Quality Inn Lafayette was conviently located near I-10 on Evangeline thruway. The exterior was clean, the room very clean and spacious. The clerk was very helpful and gave great directions. I wasn't thrilled with their continental breakfast. There wasn't much to it, out of orange juice, etc. Just not up to par with others. The elevator is poorly located. We stayed on the third floor of the hotel. The hotel does not have an interior elevator. We had to park near the rear of the property to be near the elevator.

Very friendly, attentive hotel staff at a place that has seen much better days and is probably long overdue for an upgrade. While the room was spacious and relatively cheap, the room was dank, had an off smell to it and the room as well as the hotel had what appeared to be years of missed maintenance. When there was no other vacancy in town, this hotel was an adequate place to stay - not a great choice if you can find a room in another hotel.

The sign for the Hotel is was not working. We passed it 3 times before we finally called for directions. Hotel was clean, rooms very small. Probaly wouldn't be my first choice next time.
