The Quality Inn San Jose was very clean, the staff was very friendly and made a point of learning the guests names. For guests with limited english skills, the hotel staff spoke great english. The rooms are comfortable with nice views of the mountains and the business center is an added convenience. The hotel has a better than average fitness center and pool area.

I arrived at the hotel and checked in. The check in consisted of one person asking me what i was there for and after explaining he walked away and never returned. I had to wait for somebody else to ask me if they could help me. When I entered my room 1/2 hr later the bed consisted of a very thin mattress not verty comfortable when I attempted to take a nap. The entire stay was plagued with problems with A/C and no hot water. The A/C would blow warm air out at night and when I called to complain I was told they would report it to the maintanance dept. I had to call back three times to get any results and then they acted if they were doing me a big favor by responding. I asked some of the other guest and they had similiar problems. The food was not very good. The only time I had any fun was when I finally rented a car and left the hotel area. I traveled to nearby Puntaderas and took a trip on the ferry.
