Good standard hotel offering value for money. Room facilities basic, especially TV, and the hotel should think about whether it could offer WiFi in all rooms.

The hotel was extremely difficult to find. A bigger sign at the Newgate Street entrance would help. It took us 1 hour to find the hotel.

It is a good hotel that is very well located and all the staff were friendly and helpful. The free car parking is a big advantage.

The hotel looks generally somewhat bit tired. However, for a short stay the accommodation was more than adequate and in additions some shortcomings were generously outweighed by the free parking facility in the very centre of the city. We would certaintly book it again. We would also recommend it to some of our friends. Z.V. & G.A. Hauptman

I regulary stay in hotels up and down the country and this has to be 1 of the worst I have stayed in ever. 20 years ago this was a top hotel in Newcastle. It appears not to have been touched for this length of time. My door would not close fully, and the frame was stuck together with wood glue. The matresses on the beds were filthy forcing me to sleep on top of 1 duvet and cover myself with the other. Give this place a miss if you can!

This hotel is in serious need of some tender loving care - ideally located for a good night out but not very pleasing for those on business who need a decent nights sleep because of the noise. This hotel is extremely difficult to find no sign outside i looked for it for about 30 minutes. The room required attention wardrobe door hinges were non existent at the top of the door and the door would not shut properly. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. Breakfast was satisfactory although nothing spectacular. Overpriced in my opinion.

How ironic that it should be called Quality Hotel. This is one of the most discusting hotels in which I have ever stayed. Shocking the turn-up rate is £127.00. We only paid £50 for the room on a Sunday night and that was way over the odds for this dump. The heater was on in the room during summer, the water was cold in the evening, the room was dirty with bits of salad (presumably from a kebab on the Saturday night) casually left on the chair, the beds were uncomfortable. To be fair I guess we were in for a treat when we were welcomed by 6 buckets in the entrance catching water from the room above.I can recommend taking a sleeping bag and sleeping on the street in preference to this shambolic pile of rubble.

Well where do I begin. We have travelled the world and this is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. To begin - the two lifts - one did not work the whole time we were there and they fail to advise you of this, there was not hot water, no airconditioning, rooms were not cleaned on a daily basis, extremely noisy, and the best of all at breakfast there was no food - just lines of very unhappy people. Many people actually stormed out. When addressing these problems the Manager and their staff were very happy to act as though we were the only ones compaining, even when there were people next to us complaining of all of the same issues we were!!An extremely run down, disappointing hotel and we would never stay there again. Take our advice do not set foot in the No Quality Hotel.

Finding the entrance of the hotel was not very easy. And there was no clear sign directing the parking. So, I had to carry two 23kg bags to the first floor, and pass through half a dozen doors to finally reach the reception. The staffs are friendly and decent, rooms are clean, and nice. Overall, I enjoyed the stay. And yes, I shall stay again.

Room quite run down, was actually a little shocked by it. Incredibly noisy and hard to sleep, due to rampaging stag and hen parties. The staff were lovely and almost made up for the condition of the accomodation, but at 90 quid a night i really would have expected a bit better. Breakfast was good and well done though.

The hotel was centrally situated and had a convenient, secure car park with specific parking spaces for women only close to hotel and security lighting which was good. The disadvantage to being central was that it was noisy at night, although not too much to prevent sleep. Dining room at top of hotel provided good sights over city and breakfast offered good choice of menu, service in dining room and reception both very good. Room was a little shabby but I think we were in old part of hotel which had not yet had an upgrade as majority of other rooms appeared to have been recently decorated.

The hotel was fine.but expensive. The biggest problem we had was finding it (evenyually) then having to find the rear entrance for the carpark.nightmare. Could have been made so much easier with more information.

At the rate of £72 this hotel was OK, but if I had paid the advertised rate of £120 I'd have felt ripped off. Only one lift out of three was working. The whole place looked a bit tired - but I dudn't find it as bad as some other reviewers. Free city centre car parking is a plus point.

The hotel was not easy to locate, we found it by chance after driving past it once. The access by car is from the rear but the sign is not very clear. The hotel room was acceptable but there was a lot of room for improvement with the cleaning. It was also tired and in need of refurbishment. On the positive side, the bed was very comfortable. We paid £60 for the night but a Travel Lodge gives you better value for money as they are basic, as was the Quality Hotel. There was not even a biscuit on the refreshment tray. I wouldn't recommend this hotel and I wouldn't choose to stay there again.

The hotel is in an excellent location. Very central and only a few minutes walk from the station and Metro arena. Rooms are very basic. I had been expecting more for the amount we paid, but i guess you have to pay to stay so centrally.

Hotel is centrally located between the infamous Bigg Market and The Gate entertainment complex, so there is a wide selection of bars/restaurants on the doorstep, but it is also one of the livelier and therefore noisier locations in town. Not a problem for me, but it does limit it's suitability as a family-friendly location, or for anyone looking for a quiet night's sleep. Almost all of Newcastle's other attractions, including the main shopping area, are within a very short walk. It's quite a dated-looking hotel now, and the decor and furnishing in the rooms are the same. Facilities are basic, and in my room, the bed was in need of repair. Due to the large number of stag/hen parties which use the hotel, it can be a bit rowdy, particularly at a weekend. However, the room and bathroom appeared to be clean, and the shower was powerful and warm, which would put many more illustrious, modern hotels to shame. For the relative low cost involved, it is difficult to complain about the standard and facilities given the enormously convenient location in the heart of the city.

Central location and cheap is the best that can be said for thie Quality Hotel. The receptionist completing check-in looked thoroughly bored and when our toilet overflowed during the night the Night Porter told us to leave it until the morning! Other than that, the bed was comfortable, the room was basic but clean and there was free parking available which is hard to get in Newcastle. If I couldn't get an alternative, I might consider staying here again, but only as a last resort!

The restaurant was fine, and it wasn't too bad getting in the front door, if you are willing to get in a lift for ages. The reception area is pretty horrible. My room was fine - the beds were uncomfortable but comfortable, and the TVs only had 4 channels, although there was pay-per-view on offer. My shower was fantastic, but I couldn't actually empty my bath.Location-wise, the hotel's fantastic. It's right near the City Centre and all the pubs and bars that Newcastle offers. If you're going on a stag do, go there. Otherwise, find somewhere nicer.
