Moved to another hotel! When I arrived at the Quality Crown Kensington I was told that they did not have any rooms and that I was to be moved to the Kensington Close Hotel a few minutes away. I was not impressed that I was having to move particularly as I had travelled more than 200 miles on my own for an overnight stay in London. The hotel I was moved to at first didn't seem to have any knowledge of the arrangement which worried me greatly but they rang the Quality Crown and everything was sorted out. I would not attempt to stay at the Quality Crown again but the hotel I was moved to was fine.

An ideal hotel for a short break. The room was small but perfectly formed and not too far from the tube. Comfy bed and a good nights sleep was had. All the staff were friendly and helpful. We were room only basis but used the Patisserie opposite the Gloucester Road tube station for a good breakfast. Would stay at this hotel again and would recommend to friends.

It advertises to have a car park, which it does but does'nt allow you to use it, also wireless but not in rooms as advertised, most of the staff did not speak good english, the hotel room had a very damp old carpet smell, the bath taps didn't work so you had to have a shower - which to be honest i usually do but on this occaion i was soooo looking forward to a bath typical! I really didn't feel this was value for money.

Hotel was clean and comfortable - the room was a decent size for London. Tea and coffee facilities available and they were happy to deliver fresh milk. The hotel is in an excellent position - a couple of blocks from Gloucester station, which takes you to Paddington if you need to catch the Heathrow Express. Laundromat nearby but it costs a fortune. Plenty of restaurants nearby but none that are reasonably priced. Pre book a taxi if you need one - we couldn't hail a taxi in the street.

No car parking which was the reason I booked there, although they did offer to get me parked at the Marriott over the road

A stain on the duvet that looked suspiciously like blood was changed late at night by staff.Taking a cold shower in the morning is not what I expect from a 4star hotel.Being woken up before 9am on a Saturday morning by housekeeping is also not expected.

I needed parking and the reason why I picked this hotel is because it offers a space on site. When I arrived, I was told it was full and I had to pre-book it. None of this was mentioned on the site.Thank God the marriott is just opposite and has a NCP car park right by it at £30 per night.the breakfast ends at 9.30pm so I didn't have the chance to try it.Room is simple but clean, everything works, shower is very good and bathroom was very clean.Well located if you are coming from the M4 and not badly priced at £79 per room.

VERY small room, night staff pleasant but on checking out was treated like a second class citizen 'you booked through late rooms...' Have used the late rooms website many times before and have previously always enjoyed an excellent service. The room was very small as was the bathroom, we were next to the lift and what sounded like an engine running all night.

Room small (as expected) but very clean , excellent location, good directions given on site.Woken by maid who came to clean room at 8.45 when check out was 11am! Apart from thatfine for lateroom price paid.Barman very friendly and helpful .

The room was very adequate and the breakfast very good value. It too k me some time to work out the heating system so I was cold for the first part of the evening.

The room was small but clean and tidy with modern decor. I had an adjoining door to my room which always gives me concerns regarding hearing noise from next door. Luckily my neighbour wasnt noisy although I did wake up with his alarm clock. The breakfast was good quality for a buffet. Location is excellent about a 10 min walk from Gloucester road tube. Make sure you dont have a lot of heavy bags to cart. Overall very good value hotel close to central London.

the rooms were virtually the smallest that i and my 2 colleagues had ever stayed in - the kind of rooms which give London hotels a bad name - there was effectively no space in the room for anything but sleeping - negotiating a way around the room was extremely difficult - a japanese stacker hotel, or a mortuary drawer, would have provided more space.

An executive spacious room with king size bed was booked. On arrival we were checked in and given a breakfast voucher, without any comments. When we got to our room it turned out to be a normal double room and when questions were asked at reception (direct to the Manager) we were told that no other rooms were available and that wsa why we had been given a breakfast voucher. How a Manager can even think a voucher for £9 worth of cooked breakfast, of which the scrambled eggs turned out to be made in a microwave, could make up for the serious down-grade in room, is beyond me. We had to enter into a discussion with the Manager and directly ask for money off to reflect the change of room. We were initially offered £25 off, quite frankly an insult and we eventually told the Manager what we were prepared to pay, which he accepted. Serious lack of understanding of basic customer service. So much 'bad experience' could have been avoided, had we been told upon arrival, that there was a problem and then been told that the cost would obviously reflect the situation. Then it would still be a disappointment but not a total disaster. Lessons to be learnt by disgraceful management.

I read the reviews for this hotel before I booked and there were quite a few negative ones, but most seemed to relate to the room size and the beds. For this reason, I paid extra and booked an executive room. I confirmed on checking in that I was being given an executive room and was told that I was. Having slept in the so called executive room, I can only say that I pity anyone who stays in their standard rooms, because the executive room was small and very uncomfortable (barely enough room for bed and furniture). The \"king-size\" bed that was advertised as being in the executive room was in fact two single beds pushed together. This was bad enough, but one of the beds was considerably higher than the other so not much chance of a cuddle on a romantic break in this hotel!! And both single beds were equally uncomfortable. Added to this, the room was stiflingly hot (on a very cold day) and the windows were sealed shut, the air conditioning control in the room didn't seem to do much to change this either. On checking out I mentioned that the room was very uncomfortable and that I thought there had been a mistake with my booking because it definitely was not an executive room. I was told that it was definitely an exec room, and that their standard rooms were even smaller!!! I queried the lack of a king size bed (as advertised on laterooms.com) and even produced the printout of the booking. To this, I was told that it was a mistake in the ad and he would contact laterooms to change this. I requested a refund for the difference between the exec and the standard rooms and was told no. All in all, very unimpressed with this hotel and with the service. I cannot believe this place has been awarded 4 stars by the AA - must be a mistake. I would categorically NOT recommend this hotel. This is the first negative review I have left for a hotel and I use different hotels throughout the UK at least once a month - that's how bad it was!! I have checked their ad on laterooms today

The hotel was very clean and had recently been refurbished so the quality of the fixtures and fittings was very good. The room was very small but just adequate for one person. The hotel had wireless internet but this did not work in the rooms - only in the bar/cafe area. Lifts were inadequate.
