We 3 girls were going to the area to run half-marathon. A nice young man checked us in on arrival. We let him know that we were running in the AM. He was helpful with directions. Room was clean. After the race we were late getting back to our room because one of us took longer to complete the race than expected. Check out was 11:00. It was 11:40 when we got back to room. We went in immediately to let them know we were back and were sorry for being late. They had locked our door to our room. The girl at the desk was extremely rude, stating "You need to be responsible". She was not going to let us in to get our belongings. She stated if we wanted to take a shower we would have to pay for half a day and stated we should have planned better. We got out of the room in 5 minutes. I admit we were about an hour over the check out time, but there was no need to be so rude. Myself and my 2 friends travel to multiple races a year (10 to 20) and have never had anyone be so rude and unwilling to work with us. I would never stay here again, and will pass on this information to anyone traveling to Santa Cruz area.

New, updated rooms with a good included breakfast. Nothing! The hotel has been/is in the process of being renovated and the rooms are very nice. The waffel breakfast was a good bonus and the staff was so nice and helpful. I would recommend to others anyday - and have!

It is in the beautiful CA Redwoods. Several power outages; very uncomfortable beds.

It was near where we wanted to be. Very rude and rooms not clean. We had friends and family there for a wedding in the area; they really wanted our money, but not us as guests. They were rude and not very interested in our. There was lack of customer service and questionable charges to the room. I would not only, not stay there again, but I would not be able to recommend that out of town guest stay there either. There are other really fine places to stay in the area that you really don't need to stay at such a place.

They have nice hotel staff. Carpet dirty, room smells, bathroom door won't lock, etc The location is fine. They have friendly staff. But when I got to the room the beds were fine. The room smells, room is okay (not great). The carpet OMG when you walk w/o shoes or slippers your feet is dirty. The bathroom room door won't lock. I saw spider on the shower room. The shower rod is not installed properly. Mold starting to build up on the window. The price to stay at this hotel is too much.
