The Pymgate Lodge was a perfect choice for our last night in the UK since we were catching an early flight back to the states. The hotel staff were very friendly and even provided us a ride to the airport (for a very reasonable rate) after a delicious breakfast.

Since we were leaving very early from Manchester airport, we needed an affordable nearby hotel. Our hosts were very gracious when we arrived in a driving rainstorm and made us feel welcome. They prepared a meal for us so we would not have to drive out into the night to find food and gave us a complimentary fresh desert. Because our departure was so early, we imagined we'd have no breakfast, but they arranged a very portable meal for us. The hotel was quiet and tidy, with a good shower and an alarm clock as well as a wake-up call. A good choice for us, friendly hosts, handy to the airport.

Overnight StayI arrived late evening, very tired with the prospect of a very early start to the train station in the morning. I was promised an early morning alarm call and transfer to the station for five AM and that is exaclty what happened. The young couple who managed the hotel were polite, courteous and couldn't do enough for me. Just what I needed after a long flight.

This accommodation was excellent, the owners were very friendly and professional. It was very reassuring when travelling alone. I was picked up at the airport without having to waite and taken to the train station the next morning. Anyone needing overnight accommodation for air flights from Manchester would be hard pressed to find a more suitable hotel.

Enjoyed my stayWas welcomed by a very friendly lady at the door at the lodge. She showed me the room and ask if it was warm enough. Later after a sleep I enjoyed a meal down stairs. The lady also aranged a taxi for me to get to the airport as I had a very early plane the next day. On the whole it was a nice place to stay and I would highly recommened it

There have been some bad reviews about this hotel but I can only ay my experience was a very pleasant one. I think the owners are trying hard to take on board any earlier comments and were genuinely helpful during my stay. The lift to the airport was reliable as was he early morning call. The room was very clean and the bed comfy. I was able to sleep whilst waiting for my flight despite it being daytime. I was very satisfied.

stayed 1 night ,the room was adequate for the price,my only negative was that it was raining heavy during the night and as such the gutter outside my window was overflowing which kept waking me up throughout the night (room 7 ) . Possatives , only 5 minutes away from the airport.

Wallpaper was peeling off, the room was dingy and not very clean and the staff told me not to eat there!!!

I can only refer to the quality of one bedroom. It is grim in terms of decoration and unacceptably dirty. Asthmatics or indeed anyone with a reasonable requirement of cleanliness stay away from this establishment. There is dust everywhere and it is particularly evident in the room. The en-suite is dirty and the shower, in particular, is in a shocking condition with seals broken and an abundance of mould. The sewage pipe from the room above isn't even boxed in as it passes through the room; it is very obvious when in use! Breakfast - no interest in providing a bread alternative to cheap supermarket white sliced loaf. Cheap yes, cheerful - no.

A very friendly and helpful couple. Unfortunately the food is very poor ( still frozen when served) and should be avoided. A pre booked wake up call failed to happen putting a lot of pressure on us to make our flight at the nearby airport. They were very apologetic but had to be encouraged to offer a discount for the inconvenience caused. I hope these are teething problems because they could really have a nice place if they improved the food.

We have liked the hotel and also the young couple running the place. It is very reasonably priced, but more importantly both of them are very polite and very hospitable and helpful. I would come to stay there again and would recommend it to my friends and family
