When English Egyptologist and interior designer Diana von Cranach bought a barren piece of beachfront land in Pemuteran, an unknown fishing village on Bali's northwest coast, 3 hours from Denpasar airport in 1987, her dream was to build a tiny and very personal, laid-back luxury resort.
