Prince Hotel - Small but worth every pennyFor the amount you pay, the value is amazing. The room was smallish, but quite comfortable and clean. But the two aspects that really did it for me was the free WiFi and the solid breakfast spread. These two points put bucket-loads of shame on to those "upmarket" hotels who seem to be trying to charge you for every service they can think of, without giving a little here and there just to make your staying there a little more enjoyable. The staff at the Prince were very friendly and helpful and made you feel right at home immediately. I would definitely go back there when in Birmingham again. The only disappointment was that "the Prince" wasn't Prince Naseem the boxer, as I hoped.

Nice little findAll staff that I encountered over my two day stay were very pleasant. The room was more than adequate, although the option of a bed sheet rather than a duvet would have been welcome. The self-service breakfast was a nice bonus. After reading some of the other reviews, some people find that being near to the heart of the second city rather noisy... I slept wonderfully well, but then I do come from a big city myself!

my first B&B experience in birminghamive been to a few B&Bs outside birmingham so i knew what to expect.the room was nice and clean, had a nice shower and toilet and breakfast was from 7 til l 9. you could always catch a bus into town (that would lead you to colmore row or corporation street). the local chippy was a bit far 20mins walk, alternatively you could bus it there if you wanted. around the corner you hav a newsagent and tesco express.i liked this B&B and i will be using it again soon.

Good clean comfortable basic hotelI booked 8pm for the same night. Friendly welcome, and was shown to a clean, basic, comfortable room with good bathroom down the corridor. Tea and TV in room. Good continental breakfast with nice fresh fruit. Excellent value.

Prince HotelThe room was adequate. It was clean but very basic. It was, however, good value for money, since it was close to the city centre and therefore very convenient.

Very helpful and good valueI was welcomed immediately upon my arrival and the staff were always polite and friendly. My room was clean, tidy and reasonably adequate for the simple purpose of being able to study in the evenings and sleep at night; coffee-making facilities were available in the room. The continental breakfast buffet was fine.Good value for money.

Poor room, but it looked like others were betterOur room wasn't in a good state; the extractor fan in the ensuite bathroom didn't work and obviously hasn't worked for a long time. There was a lot of mould, woodlice, bare wires in the lights, and that was just the bathroom. In the room there were stains on the carpets and walls, and a cigarette burn in one of the duvet covers. Oh, and this was one of the 3* rooms apparently. We've stayed in nicer hostels to be honest.However...when we left one day, a lot of the doors to the other rooms were open due to them being vacant, and they looked in a much better condition than our room! The breakfast was good, and the staff were pleasant.

The room was adequate and the bed very comfortable. The shower fan did not work which the reason why there were signs of dampness near the ceiling. Once you step outside your room the whole decor and general state of the houses is very distressed and depressing. For this reason I would not recommend it to anybody. It was all right for one night but would rather pay a little more and be in fresher surroundings. The owners were very friendly and helpful.

The Hotel was ok apart from a few patches on the ceiling. I would think that they should provide soap, shampoo and toothpaste for guests.

A map with the bus routes to the city centre, along with other relevant information on buses (timetables, fares, the fact that they do not return change, etc.), should be provided at least at the reception, preferable also in the rooms. The internet computer was not available earlier than 8.00 in the morning, and not at all in the evening. Why? It can't cause any notable costs to have it available 24 h.

The members of staff were very helpful and informative and happy to give directions when it became apparent I had got lost. They happily organised a taxi for us to the venue and were welcomed with a smile when we arrived back. Quick efficient service in the morning at breakfast. Extremely satisfied with the stay.
