Preston Park Rip OffBad value for money. £99 for one night in a substandard room with old decor, a leaking ceiling in the reception area and a substandard bathroom in the room - the shower was more like a dribble. I wouldn't recommend anyone paying the amount we did to stay here - a complete rip-off. That said, the staff were friendly enough, but the hotel itself definitely isn't worth the money they ask for it.

If you need to stay in Preston Park, what's the choice ?Fine, if slightly weirdly layout... finding rooms is *interesting*. Could have stayed for Friday or Sunday nights at less than half the Saturday price. Not bad, no particularly exciting reasons to choose it.At least the bar was available late!

Weekend At Preston Park HotelI would definately come back to this hotel. it is in a great location - approx 2 miles from Brighton Seafront. The parking is free and there are regular buses that go from right outside the entrance down to the sea, and they are good value. It beats paying £15 for a few hours in the town centre car park. The hotel room was lovely and spotlessly clean, and we were given fresh towels each day. I would definately recommend.

Its a nice friendly hotel. appox 2miles from town. quirky & unique. Night Porter very accomodatingWe were a group of 11 girls. not a hen party although there was a hen and stage in hotel. we were treated very well by all staff. had a minor issue of a window broken in one of the room which was very promptly fixed. Room were basic but a good size. All usual things provided. Night porter was very accomdating. allowing residences bar to stay open. The only issue was taxi's which was no fault of hotel but if ur a big group be prepared to wait. Also all nightclubs in brighton ask for ID. They are very strict. we aged 25- 30 and were refused as we didnt al have ID. Overall are experience was brilliant. Wouldnt recommend this hotel for families or older couples.

Out of ControlI arrived on a friday evening with a wedding taking place from earlier that day, the receptionist couldn't apologies enough for the amout of very noisey and rude children climbing up the stair way and all over the furniture. I am not blaming the receptionist as she was clearly trying her best but it looked very short staffed with such a large number of out-of-control kids running the shop. I would of liked some breakfast but as i needed to be away by 8 and the breakfast not being served until 8 this was not a option. I would not choose to stay at this Hotel again as I feel it could do with a right good clean and more than a nic of paint as most of the walls in the hallway have less paint on them than the real stuff also I would of expected more staff on with it being the weekend.

Preston Park Hotel Brighton Awful HotelWith the weather exceeding 30 degree's how simple would it be for the staff to do as requested by the customer and leave the curtains drawn and the windows open as they can't be bothered to buy a fan!! Every room was like a sauna! The staff were very dismissive when this was requested. I won't be staying in this hovel again!

Preston Park HotelThis hotel is good if you are working in Brighton, the free parking is such a bonus. It is very basic but you get what you pay for so i can not complain. I would not stay here though for social or with a family etc. The big negatives are the hot rooms and the noisy road.

ventilationIt was a very hot spell of weather, and difficult to ventilate the room adequately. I enquired about electric fans, but none was available. Also, there are no lifts, and no porter was available to assist with the luggage. The biggest plus points are the ample car parking and the proximity to Preston Park Station, which is why I used the hotel on this occasion.

Hotel evaluationI had some difficulty checking in and arranging credit card payment as the Reception staff were foreign and spoke little English. My bedroom faced onto the main road and it was incredibly noisy. On arrival my TV was not working and the staff were unable to arrange for an engineer to repair it until the next day - no compensation was offered. The hotel staircase was shabby and the carpet had obviously not been hoovered for several days and there was a strong odour of dry rot or damp.on a positive note the staff very kindly allowed me to leave my car in the car park post checking out so I was able to catch a bus to the last conference session and so avoid paying heavy car parking charges. This gesture was much appreciated.

Despite others' poor reviews I found this place fine Despite reading poor reviews of this hotel - I must admit the price and location were the reasons I decided to stay. However, the receptionist was NOT rude, the room was fine and quiet and for the money I found the place great for what I needed. It could do with a little decorating/updating in places but as I say, for the money it was spot on and much better than other places I have stayed in similar price bracket.

Not as bad as i thought it might bedespite reading other rather negative reviews i stayed here for a night. staff were helpful and efficient. Room and en-suite were spotless, my room had a balcony which was quite nice. only negative was when i went to make a coffee, both mugs were dirty. Hotel is a bit dog-eared in places,as are many at this price, but overall i thought it was good value for the money. Didnt try the food as i left before breakfast started at 7am

great value for money - the room was clean, comfortable and had everything I needed - a big plus was having parking, yet still being accessible to the city. I have paid a lot more for a lot less at other place I have stayed at.

We did have a problem with the hot water in our room. This was quickly seen to by hotel staff and we were moved to another room and received a discount for any inconvenience.

fell short of expectationsHotel good position for public transport. Free parking a bonus.Had to change rooms because plumbing didn't work.Second room OK.Had one breakfast only, expensive for what it was so ate out.Wedding guests at hotel were noisey for a short time but they usually are and it was a hotel after all.

Good basic accomodationGood basic accomodation, bus stop directly outside entrance that services Brighton and Hove centres (with buses every 10-15 minutes). On main road into Brighton and very easy to find. Oodles of parking (rare in Brighton). We stayed on Bank Holiday weekend, whilst Brighton Festival was in full flow. We only wanted accomodation for one night which this hotel was happy with, whereas most other Brighton area hotels were insisting on 2-3 nights minimum.

disappointingAccording to the booking details, I saved £101 when I booked the room. However, if I had paid the full rate for the room i would definitely have demanded a full refund! I appreciate the fact that I only paid £39 but to be honest I got what I paid for. The room was dark and I had to have the lights on even though it was a lovely sunny day outside. The description for the hotel stated that every room had satelite tv and a trouser press, neither of which were in the room. The room was very very warm (uncomfortably so) and the one window which did open was already wide open when we first walked in, so I am sure the management are aware of the heat in there. Also, the view from this window was that of flat rooves, and what I can only describe as huge extractor fans, so I assume we were very close to the kitchen. The mattress on the bed was very uncomfortable and so I checked out before 8am on Friday morning. I wouldn't normally complain, but I feel strongly that even though this was a late booking and a very cheap rate, the quality should not have been affected, and I really do feel that we were allocated sub standard accomodation.
