dinged up furniture, old AC system, holes in the wall where the doors open, yucky stairways, looked out over the Union Gospel Mission. Location is great. Across from the park. 2 blocks to a happening downtown with restaurants, etc.

Clean and restored nicely. We stayed in a theme room that we had been in 10 years ago. We were surprised that it had been restored into a beautiful newer room. It was very nice!

3 stars? You must be joking! One night of business travel in this hotel was enough for a lifetime. The carpets on the stairwells were black with filth and the whole place had a musty, rank odour to it. The room was very poor. Phone on floor with no table to put it on. Large screen very poor TV mounted on wall with all the wires showing. Dirty carpet, stains on the ceiling?? And paint all chipped off doors. Windows looking outside were filthy--not cleaned for a very long time. Pool and exercise room--very scary. Bar, restaurant--never saw one person in them for good reason. !

Excellent downtown central location, close to beach and attractions. The pool area needs to be upgraded. The room was very nice and upgraded with a large LCD TV on the wall. A nice balcony with chairs. Bathroom was nice too. Staff was very friendly. Restaurant was okay but a little pricey. The only bad thing was the indoor pool area, a little scary; it needs to be upgraded, with some plants, more light, maybe some open windows (in the summer) and maybe a little furniture (there was none) and the Jacuzzi tub could use some jets (rendering it more like a large square bathtub) Once that is done, the hotel will be top-notch. We will return.

We found the hotel lobby, elevator, hallways, to be run down and not very clean. The room was comfortable and fairly clean with a good bed and a nice shower. The furniture was higher end. The room was fairly small. The staff were pleasant. I would only stay again to be close to the park for races etc - otherwise I would look for other accomodation.

The front desk staff were very courteous and helpful. The room was unpleasant, cramped, dark, and smelled of smoke. This hotel needs to be totally renovated. The staff are great, but the rooms are not. If you have any issues with smoke or old carpets, this is not the hotel for you. Also, it is on a main road, and very noisy.
