Very nice attention to detail, whirlpool tub, i-pod dock, nice bedding and a great location. No need to get in your car to wander around Portland. Very friendly staff.

Excellent service from the start. Windows don't open, we like some fresh air. Fantastic hotel. Comfortable and service minded with no problems. Although there may be cheaper places to stay, you can't beat the location and comfort of this one. Well worth it if wanting to be in the middle of Old Port.

The location of this hotel was awesome, within walking distance of everything you come to Portland to see. We walked the city several times enjoying local pubs, museums, food, etc. Took the boat out to Peeks island for a concert on a Sunday afternoon, just so beautiful. Never even needed our rental car, all the fun and atmosphere is at your fingertips with this hotel. The hotel has a gym and spa downstairs that I used every morning, so fantastic to have it all in one place!

This hotel was located in the heart of Old Port, the downtown district of Portland, Maine. Not only was it in prime location for visiting the many shops and restaurants that surround the area, but the hotel offers a wonderful valet service that will take you to most any location in the area for only a gratuity fee of your choice. The staff was extremely helpful in planning small day excursions, and very knowledgeable about the area. Wonderful service, clean rooms, outstanding valet gentlement, A+!

The city is extremely walkable, and the hotel is near many attractions. Staff was friendly and responsive. Bed was very comfortable, and turndown service was a nice surprise. The hotel is unique and had a lot of charm. Our only quibble with the hotel is that the decor is a bit dated.

First let me say the location was perfect to walk anywhere in the restored historical seaport. On arriving at the hotel we were greeted professionally by a very friendly staff who took care of our every need including driving us to the concert we were attending. There is a small computer set up with the internet & a printer in one of the sitting areas that were oh so comfortable. Each of the rooms are different and the beds and pillows were fantastic, we all slept well.Oh and they even picked us up from the concert. The Regency is truely a gem, the food was superb, service was top notch & the staff were right there when you needed them.As an added bonus we were able to sample a local brewery that served food late and we were famished at midnight, so we walked about 1 minute and there was the brewery with a great menu and beverages since nobody had to drive & we were back in our room after our second 1 minute walk to our hotel. The hotel was clean, very secure and the Spa is as much a treasure as the Regency itself. We are going back there on a regular basis from now on.Smoking is allowed outside by the benches far enough away from the enterence. The Regency is perfectly situated and you can let the valet take the car and see it again when you check out because everything is in walking distance from Fresh Maine Lobster to Scallops and plenty of superb dining establishments to suit any pocketbook..

I thought the hotel was great. Great location in the middle of shopping and restaurants..The staff was very friendly and helpful.(Even furnished us with umbrellas when it was raining)Our room was very clean, comfortable and had lots of admenities that made our stay wonderful such as the bed turn down service with chocolate, wake up call in the morning with newspaper and coffee. Would highly recommend this hotel. Can't go wrong.

This hotel was a converted armory, and our room only had a skylight not windows at all.We had no idea until walking into the room.My wife said don't say anything,so i did not.I felt very shutup and not confortable. We should have been told before hand at frony desk. Very centrally located, clean, and adequate.Rate did not warrent such a room. All resturants were all at your finger tips.
