I stayed at this hotel one night. I stayed on the 8th floor, it only resembles the pics on the internet. The hallway smelled like an ashtray. The room is very small, clean, althought the red bedspread looked old.The staff at the reception extremely robotic. The location is fine as it's the end of Copacabana and a few blocks from Ipanema.Don't make any calls from the Hotel. Local calls are US3 a min.The front desk quoted me a R60 for a cab ride to the airport, I flagged one down right if front of the hotel for R35, who keeps the difference I don't know.I decided on a late check out, which they gave at 1/2 rate and only till 7pm, which they would call me on the hour to remind me( I couldn't believe it-as I had agreed to pay for it).All in All it's a descent hotel but not for the rates they charge. PS: No swimming Pool.

There was one item that did not satisfy me: in the Venere site it was written that the garage was included, but during check-in, even showing the printed page of the reservation displaying that gara was included in the price, they disclaimed that this was not correct. I used this parameter to decide upon the hotel...

We stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon the first week was OK. The following week they were doing construction with absolutely no regard for their guest. Chiseling and hammering at 8AM. After complaining they didn't stop. Then several months after returning from Brazil we came home to find out that our Master card information had been stolen by someone from the hotel staff. It was the only place that we used that particular card. Most places in Brazil only accept Visa.

Hi- As far as compared to other hotels in the area it was nice, but the street noise into the room (even on 8th floor) was very loud. Maybe double paned windows would help? The staff was fantastic, very friendly and the housekeeping was excellent. I think the concept of the hotel is great (i.e. the design concept) but the implementation is a little run down and shabby....maybe updating the rooms (paint, etc.) the restaurant, & gym would improve the hotel. I would possibly return, if not, only due to wanting to visit another area in Rio, not due to anything the hotel is lacking. Thanks for the email.

I think this is a beautiful hotel and the staff was very helpful and friendly. However, the policies are very strict. There is a stiff charge for visitors. If one may consider having visitors, they should consider an apartment. Apartments are a much better deal.

The hotel was too expensive for what it offered. The rooms were plain and simple and were missing the DESIGN element completely. If priced at around 80-90 USD, I would have said it is a good deal.
