Poncho Huasi Posada Hotel Salta   []

Salta, Argentina

Description:
Poncho Huasi is an old colonial house set in the stunning countryside of north west Argentina.

It's the perfect getaway, and the ideal spot to relax and explore the landscape and traditions of Salta.

The B&B is run by an Englishman and his Argentine wife who have been living in the UK for the last seven years and know exactly what you want from a holiday.

What they offer is a personal service from beginning to end: they’ll meet you at the airport or pick you up from the bus station and bring you to Poncho Huasi where they're sure you’ll soon forget the stresses of modern life amidst the tranquil surroundings of their old colonial house.

Built of traditional adobe, with terracotta-tiled floors, high beamed ceilings and period furniture, Poncho Huasi has been lovingly restored with the addition of some modern comforts, not least a large swimming pool.

Poncho Huasi is ideally situated to explore the stunning variety of scenery and activities the North West has to offer; the Calchaquies valleys and the wine region of Cafayate to the south, the Quebrada de Humahuaca to the north, and San Antonio de los Cobres and the Puna to the west.

When you’re not out exploring, you can laze by the pool during the day, and find yourself a quiet corner in the large living room, with a log fire for those occasional cold winter evenings.

Surrounding Location:
We live 15km south of Salta in the small town of Cerrillos, the heart of the province’s tobacco region, and the gateway to the outstanding scenery of the Valles Calchaquies, and the wine producing district of Cafayate.

Our old colonial house is called Poncho Huasi after the traditional poncho worn by the gauchos of Salta and huasi which means home in the traditional Inca language of Quechua.

With its traditional adobe walls and terracotta tiled floor, the house has been lovingly restored and subtly modernized to provide 21st century comforts, not least a large swimming pool.
