Pomme D'Or June 2009Very pleased with this hotel. Good room quality, friendly staff and excellent breakfast (didn't stay for dinner). Perfect location every thing on doorstep, buses, shops, marina. Would definately stay again. Would be pricey though if have to pay full price- look for reductions on Laterooms.

The website says car parking available offsite, I was envisaging across the road or a couple of mins walk away. However the car park is an unsecure multistory car park on the edge of town about 10 mins walk away. Glad it was only a hire car as I wouldn't be happy leaving my car there.

Pomme d'OrFriendly well-located hotel. Facade and communal areas very elegant, gets a bit more tired looking and travel-inn like as you disappear into the corridors to the rooms. Room itself was pretty standard, comfortable bed with nice linen. View from window was dreadful, just a roof and another building. Would recommend a habour facing room if view is important to you. Didn't use the hotel for evening meals, but the breakfast buffet was exceptional and in a lovely habour facing room.Best of all was being right in the middle of St Helier, everything within walking distance and main bus station just minutes away.

An Excellent WeekendStayed Friday to Monday and had an excellent weekend thanks in part to the staff at the Pomme d'Or who were unfailingly friendly and helpful. If your stay includes a Friday don't miss their weekly Seafood buffet (book in advance). Overall the Pomme d'Or is much better value for money than most 4 star hotels in all respects (except the wine prices which were at typical 4 star levels).

Not value for moneyI was very disappointed with the room which was small and basic. I was not aware of the poor standard of accommodation while booking as I was under the impression that the rooms had all be refurbished and I was hoping for one of these. I was provided an old room with a view of the next door buildings asbestos roof. I questioned why I was provided this room the next morning and was advised that if I had complained when I arrived that they would have put me up in a refurbished room.... Why didn't they do this in the first place? I didn't ask as my frustration had gone far enough (off peak and plenty of empty rooms as far as I was aware). Considering that there are a considerable number of newer and more luxurious hotels in St. Helier for the same price, I would recommend you look else where. The Pom is over priced, dark, and depressing.

friendly hotelspent 2 days here. nice rooms and an amazing fish buffett on friday night! the resutrant staff are lovely, eatting on yr own isnt much fun, but they were a great team.room clean, 2 small complaints. 1st there was no hot water on the sunday morning, and 2nd was the noise from the pubs/clubs when they kick out. i was on 5th (top) floor, and it woke me up both nights. i would ask for an inside room next time.Hotel is close to centre and the waterfront (cinema and bar, pool and resturants). i will be using this again, for work or leisure.

The hotel was excellent! The staff friendly, the food delicious, and the location great. Our stay was perfect. The Cafe bar at the side of the hotel is also excellent and the staff could not be more helpful and friendly.I would recommend the hotel.The breakfast on its own is fabulous and you won't need to eat again!

Hotel very central. Siuated opposite Liberation Square and 2 minutes from the bus station (number 15 bus for the airport) which has an excellent service (no need to hire a car). If using the bus service buy a day ticket which you can use all day and just get on and off the bus as and when you please. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent choice at breakfast.

The hotel is perfectly located for the bus station to travel around the island. The breakfast is delicious, the service excellent, both in the restaurant and also on reception. Worth paying for an executive room.

Was going to return in january however the £180 per night price tag put us off.Excellent hotel but a little expensive compared to others we have stayed of a similar calibre.

It's interesting that whenever I book a room through laterooms that I always seem to end up with the smallest or worst room they can find. Maybe that's to be expected by booking cheap. But if that really is the case, then I'll stop using laterooms. Pomme d'or was happy to move me to a different room, but it meant a second visit to reception to get a decent room. Pomme D'or is good because its in the centre of town, but there are better hotels on the island cheaper, but just not so central.

This hotel looks very nice when you use the café or the foyer. We were rather disappointed by the rooms which are a little shabby for the price.

Very well positioned for ferry and local restaurants and shops. food was excellent, as was service. The room was not positioned as I had requested for an elderly person with heart complaint, had requested no steps, but was still a very good place to stay. Pity about parking problems, but that seems to be an overall problem in the centre of st helier.

The Pomme D'Or was an excellent hotel for many reasons: Location - It was right near the harbour, also only five minutes walk into St. Helier shopping centre. It was a one minute walk to the main bus station where all buses terminate. We used the buses daily; they were very reliable. Cleanliness - The hotel was spotless in all areas including the lobby, bars, restaurants and bedrooms. Bedrooms were maintained to a very high standard, cleaned daily with fresh towels, tea/cofee updated daily as was and luxurious shampoo and bath lotions. Food was delicious. The breakfast buffet was large enough to satisfy everyone's needs and cooked to a high standard. Hotel employees were very helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. I recommend this hotel wholeheartedly and would happily stay here again. What a beautifully clean, interesting island Jersey is too. A pleasure to visit especially during the Battle of the Flowers (Aug). LateRooms.com thanks for making my booking so efficiently. I will deal with you again.

Despite free wi-fi, we expected a few more guest amenities at a 4 -star hotel. For example, there is no mini-bar (not that we would buy from it but a fridge for our own water would have been useful) or safety deposit box in rooms. The bar doubles as a restaurant for certain hours which is a bit inconvenient if you want drink at the time meals are being served. Having said that, the hotel is of a good standard, is in a convenient location (a short stroll to the town centre, Bus station almost opposite and ferry close by) and the rooms are comfortable. The breakfast buffet is extensive, both hot and cold, and staff are friendly.

Pleasant, friendly & efficient. Even put a (free & not requested) birthday cake in our room as my wife had mentioned we were celebrating my 50th!
