Plaza Real Resort in Juan Dolio is a Tropical Paradise with typical amenities and beautiful landscaping. The Beach is at a short walking distance. The rooms are fantastic! Mine was like a studio apt. with kitchen. I like the fact that I had a refrigerator to store my juices and sodas. A small stove top to make my expresso coffee. Safe deposit box in the closet to store valuables, no additional charge.You choose your own security code. Very good security. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my three day stay at this resort! They say check-out is at 11:00AM, but you could leave at 1:00PM without penalty. Left to see more of the Island.~ I highly recommend this resort.

If you are really interested in being around Dominican people and culture, this is an appropriate hotel. Be ready to speak Spanish here! The best thing about this place is that they have a kitchenette with a full fridge and stove and plates and pots and pans, so you can save some money on eating out. The Juan Dolio area is where you'll have a secluded beach (across the street, and great for a couple!!), but do not look for night life here. The hotel does offer tours to Santo Domingo (where you can party hard) and other attractions. There is also a minimart, laundry, and pharmacy on premises which are convenient. And there is a phone (10 pesos/min) and 3 computers for internet (30 pesos 30 min). It's really everything you need for a relaxing quiet time. But do not expect to come to Plaza Real and see Marriott style living...its a bit outdated, but everything works, especially the a/c! The pool is only open till 6pm...booo...but who comes to the Caribbean to swim in a pool anyway? If you want some cheap, delicious food, head down the street to Guilia's Cafe! They even have cheeseburgers, which are delicious!

Very helpful friendly staff, great location. Clean, special atmosphere not like all the modern hotels. Room comfortable and well-equipped. Room very big. Great food. Location is superb, with easy access to the beach of Juan Dolio, one of the biggest beach of dominican republic. Very nice hotel

The worst hotel experience I ever had, I had to leave the same day. the sheets were dirty, no air conditioner, the rooms were super small, there was construction being done right outside of the hotel. no phone.

My husband And I spend 21 days here. We loved the place. This hotel has a very good location. It is located in Juan Dolio. The juan Dolio beach is just a short walk. This beach is so beautiful. The water is clear blue and sometimes it changes to clear green. This hotel has an incredible advantage; it is close to the city (Santo Domingo) the capital of the Dominican Republic. This hotel has an amazing pool. The deepest side of the pool is 8 feet. The pool is very clean; the staff cleans it every day. This hotel is not an all-inclusive hotel but it gives you the freedom to cook your food because it has a kitchen in your room. The good thing about this hotel is that it really looks like an apartment which has a bedroom, dining room, living room, deck and the most important the kitchen for those who like to cook. There are many activities you could do. Near the hotel there is a game room, also there is a pool table that you can rent and play with your family. I can say that I really like the hotel because it allows me to bring visitors (my family) to my room and also they could use the pool and the beach. I will really recommend this hotel to everyone who wants a quiet place to relax and enjoy a nice vacation. The hotel also offer several touristic trips, the Saona Island, the Catalina Island, etc. we were going to take the Saona Island trip but there was a bad weather and it got cancel; hopefully we will do it next time we go to the Dominican Republic.

If you want an authentic experience, without all of the hinky tourism, then this is the spot. The apartment was huge, the staff was friendly, the area was quiet. Yes, there is construction at times but it really wasn't bothersome. It was authentic and I appreciated that it was a true DR atmosphere. They could have cleaned the rooms a bit better, but it was like any other beach house i have visited. I am already planning another trip to the same resort.

this was the worth experience i left the same day hotel was derty,smell and nothing to do.
