As I needed good access to the LDS Library this hotel was excellent. If you walk out the back door it is only 199 steps to the entrance to the library, where I spent my entire stay. The room was clean and adequate. It had a microwave and a fridge. There was a single cup coffee maker which was OK for me but a larger one would be better, especially for 2 people. The bathroom was old but clean. It lacked space for toiletries but it was clean. The pool was closed while I was there and the spa wasn't working. It would have been nice to be able to sit in the spa after hours in the library. I am told the hotel is renovating the place room by room so I expect it will improve. The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant is not affiliated with the hotel, from what I was told, but very cooperative with the hotel. The food was OK and plentiful. Don't expect to get a cocktail, beer or wine. The breakfast buffet is great. The service could be improved but the staff is friendly. I would stay again as it is very convenient to the library and that is where I spend all of my time, except for sleeping.

The Salt Lake Plaza hotel is located right next to the Family History Library. Its location is just perfect. There is a Trax station just outside the hotel and it is easy to get to the Convention centre.The nearest shopping centre is Gateway and it is just two stops away on the Trax. Cleanliness: Perfect. We were given a large room and the toilets were stuffed with clean white towels and the shower curtains are white as well. Very clean. In room facilities: Microwave, mini fridge, TV, bathtub, ironing board etc. Service Staff: The service staff is very friendly and helpful. There is a family restaurant that serves good steak and crepes. I will definitely stay there again in my next visit to SLC.

Walking distance to Temple Square where you can hear the Mormon Tabernacle choir for free on Sunday as well as visit their site. Also within walking to the Salt Lake City library, one of the nicest anywhere. Plaza hotel was clean, staff courteous and efficient. Two computers in the lobby made online reservations and email easy to do. Did not use a lot of the hotel's amenities, like jacuzzi or weight room, because we were out of the building most of the time during a five day stay. Would definitely like to stay here again circumstances permitting.

This hotel was in an ideal location, the room big, clean & comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Pool small but I enjoyed it. Tram ride free for local usage (6 blocks) & cheap if you needed to get anywhere else. All the local attractions were free to enter and all well worth visiting. Guides were friendly, very knowledgeable and there was no pressure of their faith being pushed on to you at all. We were only there for 3 nights and went to JB's next door for our meals as there was a good menu, which wasn't too expensive, and we enjoyed everthing we ordered. We took two tours - one to the mine & salt lake, the other the city tour and enjoyed them also. The facilities at the geneology centre were brilliant and staff knowledgeable and helpful but we were not prepared enough with dates etc to find anything for us. Would be very happy to stay at Plaza again.

This is a great place to stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room, although small was tasteefully decorated and clean. The jacuzzi was not working and after a long flight that would have been nice. There is an excellent buffet at J B's, the hotel restaurant at $, it was plentiful and delicious. We did room service from them one night, the food was delicious and delivered hot. The only problem we had was with the hotel shuttle. We were supposed to leave at 06:30, our flight was at 07:50, the driver was late and we didn't leave until 07:00. Everyone was running to catch their flights. The convention center was across the street and the ESA was only a block away. I give it 3 1/2 stars and will stay Millbury, Ohio

The facilities were fine, but the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. Airport shuttle drivers were not only punctual but very personable. Couldn't ask for a better location, and the room was airy and nicely appointed -- only small cavil was that the entry light switch only turned on the sink light at the entranceway, and the remainder of the room was pretty dark until you got in. Room service breakfast was passable. The free Internet service unfortunately carried someone trying to persistently crack my computer, which fortunately has a software firewall. My only regret is that I didn't stay longer.

I stayed there for two night. It was definitely unpleasant. At the first night, I was woke up by the itch on my shoulders and my hand. I turn on the light, and there was a few tiny bugs running on the pillow. I called the front desk, all they did was to send a security guy to my room and handed me a key for another room. The security guy didn't even know what was going on. As the matter of fact, he even told me that he was not working there. So I had to move to another room two o,clock in the morning without any assistant from the hotel. The next morning, when I talk to the front desk again, they didn't even know what happened in my room for that night. The guy I talked to in the morning said the manager will refund my money for that night. I told him that I was there not for the money, but for an apology. If not the manager, at least whoever I talked to should apologize to me in the first place. But NONE of them did that. The bugs had five bites on my shoulders and one bite on my hand. They are still itchy like hell now. If they think one night refund will make me happy, they are totally wrong. They could make me happier by the manager's personal apology, but they didn't. The manager has never shown up in front of me.

Stayed 1 night. Good location, good price for what is offered, clean hotel, effective service. Great free shuttle from airport (better than others). J&B's next to hotel is pretty good as well, especially if you don't have a car.

Location, location, location. Right next to the LDS library, this hotel is also withing walking distance to everything in the downtown area, no need to rent a car. Micro/fridge in room in excellent condition, and rooms very clean. Staff extremely helpful with hotel amenities as well as knowledgeable on must-see sights, restaurants, and how to get there, and when to go. Restaurant on property accommodates those spending the day at LDS library with early/late hours. Hot tub not working during our stay made us sad, but pool was private, yet refreshing. Free Shuttle to and from airport accommodates patron's schedule within a half hour. Could use a bigger coffee maker in room, as free coffee is not available. $ daily parking for cars. McDonalds one block away opens early and is the best price in town for a decent breakfast.

The hotel is fine, though there was no continental breakfast, and even the barest of foodstuffs cost money. Have you ever heard of a hotel that charges for a package of hot chocolate mix?? The pool is an outdoor pool, which is surprising considering this is a skiing-city hotel, and its often quite cold in the city.Our room was very comfortable, but definitely an eyesore. There was plaster on the walls that suggested the person doing the construction had the vaguest idea of what he was doing. It was lumpy and terribly shoddy-looking. Even the wallpaper was even starting to peel at the seams! The ceiling in the bathroom had obviously been opened to do repairs, but wasn't properly patched up, so a large portion of the ceiling is an ugly urine color. The bathtub had a straight back that didn't allow for leaning back to enjoy a nice soak, which is usually the point of taking a bath rather than a shower. It was extremely uncomfortable!! Besides, shouldn't most to all "luxurious" hotels feature a jetted tub in every room? The shower head had a leak in it that sprayed water uselessly sideways, and it was amazing how a king-deluxe room could feature a bathroom so economically tiny with little to no counter-space.One good thing about our stay was the fact that the in-house restaurant, though a low-class country style, had provided room service that was actually affordable, even though it wasn't available after 10 pm. I definitely would recommend to this hotel to get at least a form of continental breakfast, even it its just juice, hot chocolate, and bagels with cream cheese. At least the bed was comfortable, though the obviously 30 year old pillows and sheets need to be replaced. Probably won't stay again.

My sister & I stayed for 5 days...her for business, me for vacation...I really liked: cleanliness, in room coffee (delicious), AC & heating controls, bed (very comfortable), guest computer w/printer (helpful for printing boarding pass), complimentary Wi-FI, location to TRAX (local train service), complimentary airport shuttle, nearby shopping center, ample lighting in room, restaurant at front entrance, TV slid out of cabinet for viewing at any angle, comfortable easy chair, fridge in room, beautiful view...disliked: disabled balcony door, hot & cold water reversed in shower, exercise room/hot tub unavailable due to remodeling, no microwave in room, nasty bedspread...for the price, I am used to getting a complimentary breakfast, but would stay here again w/lower expectations. I never dealt w/the staff, but my sister did and was unimpressed...she described them as aloof.

I really enjoyed the location of this hotel. The staff were very helpful and the room had a couple of appliances that are very nice to have away from home (refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker). The only thing that was bothersome to me was that even though we got a non-smoking room it still smelled very much like smoke. After we aired it out we managed to identify the source of the smell: the next room with the conjoined door had a smoker in it. Perhaps the hotel can do a better job of sealing off individual rooms, or not conjoining smoking and non-smoking rooms.

The room was very comfortable and clean at the Plaza Hotel at Temple Square. The hot tub was a little small but sufficient for our needs. I used the guest library near the lobby quite a bit to do paper work where I could really spread out on a larger table. The front desk was very helpful and pleasant to work with. I enjoyed being close by many local attractions. One hard thing, however, was that we could not turn left out of the parking area with our rental car but was able to walk on foot to many places. I recommend walking when you can because it was difficult to find parking.

The room was small but adequate. It was clean. I was on the top floor. It was very quiet with nice views. With all the renovation in Salt Lake, it's hard to find a restaurant, but the JB's downstairs was okay, I guess. Right across the street from Temple Square--you can see it, sort of, from many of the rooms. There is lots of free entertainment on Temple Square (classical and religious music, mostly).

This hotel was close to Temple Square which saved us parking and kept us right where we wanted to be within easy walking distance. The bathroom was small, but it was well kept and clean.

Location excellent - across the street from Temple Square and near shopping, restaurants, public transportation. Check-in was delayed - room not ready at posted check-in time and front desk personnel seemed uninterested; waited 45 minutes for an availablel room. Parking on site, but was disappointed I had to pay. That said, it was only $5 per day. Restaurant on site - acceptable qualilty.
