We made the mistake of reading several reviews. However my friend, my Mother & I did NOT have any bed bugs - mold - unhappy employees! We asked for a room close to the elevator because my Mom is 82! The young man checking us in found the perfect room. 2 doors down from the elevator. There was no view at all, that was fine! We did not come to Vegas to look out the window! The bed was firm ( not a sheet on a park bench firm ) the bathroom was clean, the maid was very nice. So when you are in need of a good room at the Plaza ask for room 824 in the North tower. You go down the elevator to the 3rd floor and there is the Bingo Hall. We would stay there again if we ever have the money to get there. ENJOY

Folks, let's not get too serious. I mean, if you want high class, you're going to have to pay for it. The Plaza's rates are very reasonable, so you're going to have to expect a few glitches here and there. I've had problems at some of the high end hotels too, and paid through the nose. You're going to get the basics at the Plaza, and besides, if you're in your room too much of the time in Vegas, you deserve what you get. Vegas is a party town, and unlees you're throwing one in your room, you should be out enjoying the bizzare atmosphere. For my group of buddies and I, we do party in the rooms. A ritzy joint wouldn't allow us to have the fun that we get at the Plaza. The staff is extremely nice, and every accommodation that we asked for was granted. Like rooms facing Freemont street. At check in the associate saw that it was a group of guys ready to have some fun, so she put us on a floor with very few other customers. No complaints from neighbors. The gaming is good, and the food, although not the top of the line, tasted great ( especially after a long night of enjoying what Vegas has to offer ). So bottom line, stay at the Plaza, party, gamble, and sleep it off. As long as water flows through the pipes, you'll be clean. Who cares if there'a a stain on the carpet. I bet if you turned around right now and looked at your carpet, you'd find one there too. And if there isn't one, then you should go ahead and book at a costlier hotel, where the only stains you'll see will be the ones from the tears that feel from your eyes onto your hotel bill.

The plaza is one of the hotels at the end of the Freemont Street Experience. They have nice, comfortable rooms and friendly staff. There are several restaurants inside the hotel offering many dining choices. For us. . .travelers who need economical pricing. . .this was the perfect place for us. Rooms were larger than many we have stayed in and more like home than most. We will certainly stay here again.

Great views of Fremont downtown Vegas. Horrible smell on 3 rd floor where gift shops are located. Wonderful views from our hotel balcony! Staff was very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again

This was a very underwhelming hotel experience. For starters, only 2 of 6 elevators work. I am not even sure if my room met code. Electrical socket covers were missing in my room. My friends room had duct tape being used in it to hold stuff together. Casino Customer service was lacking with different managers pointing us in several different directions to try to answer a seating question in the book area. I am NOT usually one to complain and have never felt compelled to write a review of any sort online. I just felt compelled to let others know what a pit this was.

First romantic vacation and we were first put into a room with two beds. After complaining later that evening we were moved to a king size bed which was really hard. There was no cable TV and no room service. We were told walking down to the McDonald's down stairs took the place of room service. There was no vent in the bathroom and the faucet made a loud noise when turned on. The pool was freezing cold and always crowded with kids. We will definetly choose another hotel the next time we're in Vegas.

The hotel was clean, it just needs to be updated in the rooms. We had a great time though. The food there was great. The people very friendly.

Location/ surrounding area (Fremont). Elevators were iffy, not super clean, rooms weren't very nice. I would have to say the best thing about this hotel and casino was the surrounding area. It was nice to go right outside, see the Fremont experience and other casinos. We definitely chose the wrong casino in the old town to stay at.

Mold and dust everywhere and they refused to move us to a different room! Absolutely awful customer service on top of that, not to mention that they were rude as well. This place gives rat holes a bad name and I wouldn't recommend it to my mother in law.

This hotel is going to get torn down in the near future, so they are not putting anymore money into it. I've stayed in some bad hotels, but this one was the worse. Faucets did not work. A/C actually shut down and overheated. We moved to another room, and it was just as nasty. The water would not drain from the shower, so it would stay in the tub for about an hour. It is a cheap hotel, but it is not worth the trouble. There are plenty of other hotels on Fremont street you can stay at. I ended up moving to the Golden Nugget, where everything was great. The Four Queens should also be fairly nice. Save yourself some grief, and do not stay at the Plaza!

Our two-night stay wasn't as bed as I thought It'd be. We were in on the seventh floor of the main tower, and had a view of Fremont St, which at night was awesome! Besides the occasional evening noise from the shows and revelers on Fremont, I'd say our time in the room was peaceful. No noise in the halls OR even in the downstairs lobby! The staff was always helpful and attentive, answered every question. For what I paid, the stay wasn't that bad, and the room was fairly clean. However, the beds were a bit too firm for me, and the bathroom was the only thing that needed a major overhaul. The plumbing was not good! By the time we checked out, the hotel was in the midst of repairing the plumbing problem, so hopefully next time, I or anyone else won't have that problem again. But the hotel's location is perfect, as it is just across from and directly facing the Fremont St Experience, and a blk away from public transp to the Strip (very affordable); because of this and its cleanliness, I may choose to stay here again.

This hotel was the worst place I have ever stayed in. I would have rather been in a motel 6. Our first room had a bed hard as a rock. The furniture was all broken and stained. The bathroom was disgusting. The cealing in the shower was moldy and falling apart. The carpet throughout the hotel was duct taped everywhere. The whole place smelled old and discusting. We went with a group of three couples and they had hard beds also and their rooms stunk so bad. We moved to another room the next night because we got no sleep on the hard bed. Our second room the cealing in the shower was caving in and the lightswitches had mold around them. It was probably in the wall. This should be a one star hotel. We heard from another couple that they may tear it down and I hope they do!!!

I was there for WSOP tournament which is at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino. Previously, I have stayed at the MGM Grand Hotel, Golden Nugget, Flamingo Hilton and Luxor and each of the before mentioned establishments far exceed the Plaza Hotel. I will not frequent the Plaza Hotel again. The Plaza Hotel is filthy. All areas of the Plaza Hotel were absolutely unacceptable.

I have personally stayed here up to 4 times a year with my mon for the last 7 years. Its not fanciest.....but the staff is great.....the comps for being loyal are great!!!!! If you arent happy with your room ask to be moved. the hotel wants and needs your business....they will help you. the gaming is nice and the bingo is alot of fun. the pool is on the roof and thats kinda cool. the old vegas is classic.....and you dont have to walk too far between the hotels. give this place a try.....its inexpensive and the people are nice!!!!! I'm going again in july.....

Here's are deal my wife and I go to Vegas to play not sleep. A room is a place to put your stuff, catch a few winks and take a shower. This hotel takes care of all the above, if your looking to hang out in your room don't stay here.
