The spa & temescal experience were awesome. Gym was very clean. Room was exceptionally clean and personalized. Everything was better than expected at hotel, except, I was not happy after getting home to find that additional charges (for converting dollars vs pesos) were added to my credit card when I spent time converting this at check out.

We stayed at the Playa Grande resort for five days last week and loved every minute of it! Our room was on the Ridge and we were able to view both the Pacific Ocean and Sea of Cortez from the balcony, which made me feel like I was in heaven! Nothing was better than sipping my coffee outside, watching the sun rise, and seeing all the fishing boats going out for the day. There is something to do for everyone here--pools and hot tubs for relaxation, shopping downtown, adventurous activities, and delicious restaurants for dining. Room service was prompt and the food was great. We met some great people from other states and always enjoyed their company by the pool and around the resort. My husband and I also enjoyed the excellent service from our waiters at the pool and in the Calima Restaurant. Besides our favorite waiters, everyone employed there seems to go out of their way to help you with whatever you need. We highly recommend this resort and did purchase a time share while we were there. I know we will not be disappointed!

The hotel is beautiful and a good place to stay. The check in was friendly and professional. We were upgraded to their timeshare area which gave us a separate bedroom and 2 full baths, access to another pool area and an additional restaurant/bar. You are invited to look at their timeshares but they are not pushy. The rooms were impeccably clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location is great as it is right by the marina and downtown so you can walk to many shops and restaurants.

After six trips to Cabo in six different resort/hotels I have found the one i am likely to purchase. Playa Grande has the location, amenities, luxury and appeal that I have been looking for. It is ON THE OCEAN!. I don't mean a beach front that you have to climb down to or a beach front on the timid little inlet area, but a roaring beach front with huge waves and unbelievable beach. I saw porposies, swordfish, marlins and some things I could not identify. Five pools with lots of friendly folks and luxurious accomodations. Located next to lovers beach and the Arch it has everything. My wife loved the spa and I like the massuse by the pool. Staff was great and I had cell phone connectivity as well as internet access. Walk to downtown or ride the shuttle. Staff was great and I will be coming back here for sure.

Ist class all the way from check in to the staff to the facilities.Playa Grande is one of the best places we have stayed at.The rooms (1 bedroom timeshare) are big with two bathrooms, king size bed and 2 doors to the balcony. The staff was as friendly as could be, always smiling. The Playa Grande is right on the Pacific Ocean Beach.Due to the roughness of the Pacific Ocean there is no swimming in the ocean. There are plenty of big pools on the property and you are only a short water taxi ride to Medano Beach. Here you can swim and partake in many water sports. It is a short walk to town and the Marina. This truly is one of the best places we have vacationed at and I wouldn't hesitate to go back.Security at the hotel made us feel not only safe but very welcomed as well. The restaurants offer good value and you can't beat the breakfast buffet.

I was pleasantly surprised, having only researched the hotel on-line wasn't sure what to expect. The property was beautiful, the staff was very accommodating, the food was good, prices were reasonable. Most guests were timeshare owners (and so nice), we were only asked once to attend a presentation to become an owner and we declined. We were not bothered with it again. I would go back in a minute. Loved the seclusion of the beach too, no peddlers allowed there. A perfect place for a romantic getaway. Highly recommended.

The Playa Grande was a beautiful resort with lushly landscaped grounds. The jr. suite had two full baths with all the amenities. My only negative was the very hard beds. otherwise service and location were all great.

This is by far the best Hotel in Cabo....We love it here and look forward to our annual visit. The quick walk to town, security at the hotel as well as the views of the Pacific are the reasons we love it. My kids have no problem being seen with me here....they love it. Must do squid roe....the original trailer park and the office.....Medrano beach...H2O taxi is fun....have them take you to lovers beach...be sure to get off and arrange a pick up time.... You will love this place...we do...

The La Playa grand hotel and grounds were beatiful. The spa, fitness center, and mini-golf were all 1st class. The 1-bedroom / 2 bath was large enough for 5 adults to stay comfortably. Everything looked new and the tilework was amazing. Most rooms have a great view from the balcony(ies) The kitchen definately saved some money by being able to cook meals from the room but no oven and no laundry facilities in the room. The resort had a few medicre restaurants that seemed overpriced. The pool was spectacular complete with swim-up bar and waterfalls and the pool-side service was attentive. Great Happy Hour specials too! The beach was on the Pacific Ocean side of the pennisula and was large and empty. It felt like a huge private beach all to yourself. The only catch was the ocean currents are so strong that you cant swim or surf right out in front of the resort. It wasnt much of a problem though with many nearby beaches good for swimming, snorkeling, and surfing. The hotel is about 40min drive from the airport...the best way to get back and forth solo is via a shuttle at $15/person incl. cerveza! A cab will run you about $55 but worth it if you have enough people. The resort is about a 5min cab ride (~$10US) or a 15min walk from the main shopping / restaurant area known as the Marina. lots of things to do in that area with decent food and nightlife. While out and about in Cabo always agree on a price before you do anything (esp food and taxis) and check your bill for overcharges. They seemed all too frequent on our visit. Overall we had a great time. The resort is nice...a bit pricey...but worth the extra money. Recreational activities can be booked through the resort...incl marlin fishing and snorkeling (both highly recommended day trips). I would recommend this resort to anyone from families, to couples, to groups of friends looking for an upscale place to stay.

Our stay was great! It was the nicest place we have ever stayed at.The only problem was the beds, they were hard as a rock. The beautiful room made up for it. We stayed in the luxery Suit, it was amazing, and extremely big."

The Playa Grande is deluxe!!! The rooms are well appointed. We stayed in a studio which was equipped with all the items that we needed. The kitchenette was equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker and a full setting of silverware, flatware and knives. We were able to buy what we wanted for breakfasts and lunches and dine out in the evenings. If thats not for you, room service and the two restaurants on site provide breakfast lunch and dinner at all times. The bathroom was nice. Huge shower bath tub/ jacuzzi! There were four pools and one hot tub. Waiters were available at all times at any location. If possible request a 2nd floor room to stay away form some of the bottom floor noise etc.. Location: out of the way enough to be quite when you want it, but a mere six dollars or a ten minute walk into town. Many small stores or tienditas to pick up the odds and inns that you might have forgotten or run out of. Take the tour!! Although it will cost you a few hours, not the one half hour that they suggest, you will end up with a lot of free stuff..snorkel trip, massage, etc... The food: not bad good snacking. Better dining in town for sure!!. The wait staff: awesome friendly and accommodating!! NO SWIMMING at the beach directly outside the hotel. Yeah I know, it;s the Pacific!! Look, I've spent years in the Pacific ocean, and have battled my share of rip currents and shore break. This place was nasty. The beach is steep which created a five to ten foot shore break at any given time during the day!! No fun. If you are looking for a beach getaway, rent a car and go north for about 1 half hour. Plenty beaches, plenty surf. Other than that, you will have to experience it for yourself. Cheers!

"I'm a first-timer in the Los Cabos area. Just got home yesterday and am already planning my trip back! Playa Grande was super, and the pizza was actually the best pizza I've ever had! :) Everybody is so friendly and helpful. See you next year San Lucas!"

We arrived late at night (10:00 pm) and had to switch rooms three times because of broken AC. No bottled water available in the room and all the bars are already closed. So we had nothing to drink and of course no apologies from management. For the price level service definitely needs improvement. We got our welcome package the day we left. The breakfast buffet was expensive and bad and the waiters were unfriendly. I love Cabo but will stay in a different hotel next time.

"A yearly trip to Cabo and our stay at Playa Grande is the single greatest pleasure we look forward to all year. New resorts are always being built in Cabo, but no matter how plush and fancy they become, none will ever compare to Playa Grande. The private beach, the view, short walk to town, services such as the first class spa, and the same friendly staff we've come to know over the years makes this place like a second home to us. "

"The hotel is as beautiful as the pictures show. The time-share pitch was avoided by just saying ""not interested."" The only bad thing was the rock hard beds...I woke up with a back ache every day. The walk to the Marina and downtown was 20 minutes...good exercise after all that food we ate. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The Latin Night dinner buffet was WAY over priced....just order off the menu. Galeon restaurant down the hill was good...Mexican Coffee was quite a show. Go to Iguana restaurant downtown...the BEST food! "

"Our first visit to Cabo was with a group out on the strip, came back for our anniversary at the Finisteria, went for breakfast and bought our first. On our first trip we purchased another and have upgraded each year. Now on the Ridge both times we visit. Love it, would stay no where else and would buy a third week if my husband would let me. We have gone thru all of the construction and still had a wonderful time everytime we visited. Will have my third one day soon. Beautiful facility and clean grounds."
