The high ceiling room was large and well furnished, including a four poster bed. Wonderful mattress with luxurious bedding. Large screen TV on wall opposite foot of the bed. Very quiet, even though this hotel is centered in the busy historic shopping district, right across the street from the famous City Market. We were in the main building which appeared preferable to the other adjacent building. Very courteous staff who were not intrusive, but anxious to help in any way possible. The used towels in our bath were replaced twice daily. We did not dine in the hotel restaurant, The Peninsula Grill, but other folks said it was excellent.

my wife and I were able to get away for our anniversary weekend and the Planters Inn was an ideal spot. It was comfortable and right in the heart of town. Our only complaint was that there had been a wedding reception at the hotel in the courtyard, which is visible from most rooms. The clean up crew felt it needed to break down tables and tents EARLY the next morning making our peaceful sleep not so peaceful. In my opinion this could have been done much later in the day.
