After a long journey stuck in roadworks on the M1 (admittedly not the fault of the hotel) we were looking forward to 'good pub food' mentioned in one of the reviews. However, arriving on Sunday evening, we were informed by the receptionist that they stop serving food at 4.30pm on a Sunday. We ended up at a carvery which was a good 10 minutes in a taxi, and appeared to be the nearest restaurant. Could have done without this extra travelling after the journey we had had, and we weren't best pleased that there was no mention of their not serving food on a Sunday evening in their advert on Laterooms. Our only experience of their food was the breakfast in the morning. We had to ask what was available as there appeared to be no menus. It has to be said that the 'full English' we had - mainly because we weren't really given a choice - although adequate, was just 'ok'. I would suggest that they print out menus for each of the tables, and be a little bit more adverturous with their 'full English'. This 'hotel' can best be described as a good Irish pub with accommodation. It is a great stop-off for young people going to the airport. Even us 'oldies' really enjoyed the very friendly atmosphere in the bar (there is no hotel lounge), and the staff are lovely. Our rooms were also very comfortable and clean. However, I would not recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet hotel, especially those who would have difficulty with stairs, as there are no lifts to the bedrooms.

This hotel is ideal for the single male traveller, as a lone female it was a little intimidating as there were a lot of Irish builders in the public area, they were pleasant but being the only female guest in the whole building I was studied closely! The room was clean and the bedding very comfortable, food was real hearty fare perfect on a cold winter's night! On arrival it's a real challenge to find any staff to book you in as they all seem to multi-task as receptionists, bar staff and waitresses!

A little noisy from the smokers who have to be outside now.

Hotel is a short taxi ride from train station, situated in a quiet, leafy driveway. I stayed in a twin room with TV & en-suite. All rooms sit above the bar. A perfectly decent location for an overnight stay & good value for money. Good selection of beers and bar food downstairs. Friendly service. Shower nice & poweful.

There was a lot of disruption in the car park as a group of people leaving the pub downstairs were having a long argument which on a Tuesday night before work is not ideal. Other then this the hotel was clean, the food was good pub food and the staff were friendly.

Better food than "chain" hotels. Nothing fancy, but homely, and good value for money. Easy to find. Ample free parking.

Hotel room was clean but extremely small and smell from kitchen was really strong in our room[we did not realise that window was slightly open].Food was ok and staff were very pleasant apart from an elderly lady waiting at breakfast who did not smile once. I suppose the price we paid for the area £60 for the room and breakfast was ok.
