This was our first trip to Madrid so I really had no idea what to expect for hotels. I picked this one because it looked nice and my sons liked the bunk bed idea. We actually stayed in two rooms. The first room was 607. This was not a good room. The only window was a skylight that you had to keep close during the day because there was construction next door. It was also very hot in the room and no air conditioning to cool it down. The trash wasn't taken out and there was only one pillow to sleep on for three people. We asked to be moved to another room and this was much bettere. There were bunk beds this time and pillows for everyone! It was also clean and much cooler. One thing to keep in mind about this hotel is the "hi tech" shower. There are no doors on the showers, so if you use the body massaging aspect of the shower, you will flood the bathroom! To stop from flooding the whole room, put a towel in front of the door and that should stop it. The staff was very nice and helpful. They helped us with booking tours and even walked us to the place where we would pick up the bus for the next day's tour. Finally, the breakfast the hotel offers is pretty good. It is served buffet style and they had a pretty good variety of items to choose from. One very nice thing about the hotel, you can get lattes, cappacinos, and other coffe drinks for free anytime during the day. That was very nice! I don't know if I'd stay there again, but it was a nice hotel for someone unsure where to stay.

Hotel très bien situé avec d'excellentes prestations. La chambre familiale est de bonne dimension, déco high tech, ambiance feutrée. Seul le tarif peut freiner... Hotel à recommander fortement.

It's location is excellent (just off Plaza Santo Domingo on San Bernardo Street and Santo Domingo Metro Stop). We were able to walk 10 - 15 min to Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace, Sol, etc., basically any central area. We even walked back from the Prado area via Sol. The area feels safe, the Gran via is at the end of the street. Grand Via is maybe a little seedy at night, but seems safe and its busy with foot traffic. Also the Metro system in Madrid is excellent and the Santo Domingo stop is less than a block away(Main entrance is on the Plaza de Santa Domingo and a second, small entrance is on Grand Via). We stayed in a Quad-family room as we have two older teenagers and they slept in bunk beds which were okay. Some of the room's ceilings are low and both my son and I had to duck under the doorway to the bathroom. The room was on the sixth floor and had a skylight and a window. With the windows closed the room was too warm (Mid March). We kept the window open to get a comfortable temperature. From the back patio of a nearby pub we were treated to a St Patrick's day singer until about 2am on Saturday Night. There are were ~6 different light switch controls on the beds headboard. I tripped the room circuit breaker when trying to get the right combination of lighting and had to get the front desk to reset it. We enjoyed the free juices, water and coffee from 12:00 to 23:00. These were appreciated before/after mid-afternoon siesta and before bed. We did not try the breakfast buffet, but instead walked to the nearby Plaza De Callao for a Churros Con Chocolate experiance at a cafe recommended by Rick Steves. - Central Location. - Clean and modern. - 2 internet stations with free access. - Free wireless internet in rooms. - Good Shower - lcd tv (CNN and BBC international) - Complementary Juices and Hot beverage bar from 12:00 to 23:00. -Quad rooms available. All in all a good set-up and we'd stay here again.

What a great find! Would recommend anyone that goes to Madrid to stay there! We had a great experience, the staff were very helpful and the rooms were lovely. In the heart of the shopping district and walking distance to everywhere. I will stay there every time I visit Madrid.

hotel très bien situé pour visiter la ville, un peu bruyant la nuit cependant (à l'extérieur de l'hotel) nous avons été très satisfaits de notre séjour.

The room was small. The shower had a thermostat and would never get hot. I requested several times that it be adjusted so I could take a hot shower instead of a warm shower. The request was met with smiles and assurances that it would be done but it was never fixed the whole time I was there. The location ws very convenient. I think there are other non-chain hotels which offer more for the money.

We spent 2 nights in Madrid and really enjoyed our stay at Petit Palace. The location was perfect for us as we were able to walk to the market and other attractions. There were many interesting eating areas nearby. We found our room to be very clean and quite spacious. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It would have been nice to have free coffee available in the morning as we always had to walk a block or so to pick some up. Otherwise it was great and the location perfect.

First time we went to Madrid. Came at night and were friendly greated. Super location in the center of Madrid. Easy to get around and no need for other transportation - but it was not a problem to get a taxi, bus ect. they were to find around every corner. Stayed in a room for 4 people, no problems at all. Big enough, and the beds were comfortable. Really nice bathroom with a big masage shower. Totally cleaned every day. We can certinatly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is at a prime location. It is in the center of it all and walking-distance to anything. The room was very small. The whole hotel was small. I made the mistake of scractching my eye with the blanket while sleeping and I contracted conjunctivitis (pink eye) the next day. So, obviously it was dirty. The room had a great A/C unit (very powerful).

This was my first time in Madrid and was very impressed with this hotel especially at the price. The staff were courteous and friendly. The free internet in the room and lobby was very useful. Only a few things, the rooms are a little small and there was construction work beside the hotel at the time. 10 minute walk to puerta del sol. I would definitely recommend this hotel
