The hotel was excellent value for money & even included free internet in the room!

Although there are many Petit Palaces sprinkled through historical Madrid, after walking around, this was by far the most conveniently located - to affordable shopping (including the supermercato in the basement of the dept store El Corte Ingles), most visited sights (less than 20 min walk East to museums, South to Plaza Mayor, West a little further to Palace) and to great affordable restaurants. Convenient to have free high speed laptop in room. Only one other comment about room - lights and shower doors are delicately constructed.

The location is perfect for a first time tourist in Madrid. The room we had was tiny and sparsely furnished. The room and bathroom had been renovated in recent years and was very clean. That was the saving grace. The charge for breakfast was quite high. There were many cafes within a stone's throw where we could have a fine breakfast for fraction of what they charged. The best feature is the location. We could walk to many points of interest and enjoyed that very much.

Building has an inner core, bedrooms around the inner core are pokey, those around outside are better. Good location for all of central Madrid.

This hotel was located right in the middle of the car free shopping zone. It is surrounded by shops. There are numerous restaurants just blocks away near the Plaza Mayor. It was a great price for its location. Most tourist spots were within walking distant. There are two subway stations and a large taxi stand within a block of the hotel.

The stay at this hotel was very comfortable for two single travelers. Beds were comfy, rooms were clean, it felt safe. Only minor problem was needing toilet paper in the middle of the night - don't laugh, that's the time we got in and found the empty roll had not been replaced. I would recommend this hotel if you don't plan to spend too much time in your room - sleep, clean up, go.

AverageSmall room facing onto internal lightwell.Otherwise OK - not brilliant and a little noisey at night. For one night the accomodation was fine.

Couldn't ask for a better location. Staff responded promptly when we pointed out that top bunk bed was not clean...It would be helpful if there is a list of recommended good restaurants at reasonable prices... The one thing we didn't like is the cigarette smoke smell in the lobby and everywhere in Spain.

Good location, a lot of stores and restaurants near by. Funny staff. There where stores downstairs and they had loud music. The location was good, the staff where friendly. The breakfast is not included, but if you don't like traffic this is not the hotel for you is right by La Plaza Mayor but there are a lot of people, the rooms where remodels and nice.

We reviewed other customer comments and took a video tour or the hotel before booking. There would be 3 adults so we were interested in the bedding arrangement. Each picture of a room showed the std European queen, twins shoved together, and a separate 3rd bed that appeared to resemble a murphy bed arrangement. Definately NOT the case when we checked-in. Three twins shoved into a room approx 15x16 US ft. Obviously we were not there for the room, but it was very inconvenient. The staff and service was good and the location, just off Puerta del Sol, was great. December 25 - 30, 2008

perfect location, nice enviorenment, clean rooms, professional assitance but my room was extremely humid (the smell was very intense) and some parts of the hotel had humidity stains. the hotel needs to take care of that. "

A good value/budget hotel in a busy area of the capital city. We found the room a bit basic but functional. The main problems are access by car and the noise after midnight. The area has a large number of buskers who "play" instruments untin 2.30 am a problem in itself, but when the window wont fully close it becomes very annoying.

We were only there for one night. We booked a 4-person room but only 2 of us stayed there. I'm glad the other 2 weren't with us because it would have been a really tight squeeze. There were two bunk beds available for the other two. The hotel is located on a busy pedestrian shopping street, with Zara's downstairs. It's really close to a lot of things including the Palace, the main square, and tons of restaurants and shopping. Outside our balcony, there was a guy who would come by and serenade from time to time. Don't worry, even on a Friday night, it wasn't too noisy when it came time to go to sleep to catch our early morning flight.

This was a nice, clean hotel. The staff were very pleasant and spoke fluent English. They helped me arrange day trips. The room was small though and the breakfast buffet was expensive. The hotel was right off of Puerta del Sol,which was great, and right beside a major department store.

This hotel is small but the location makes up for everything! We literally walked to all the main monuments of Madrid, and the restaurants and bar selection was superb. The room was small but we managed, it was clean and the service was good, every one was very polite and helpful. We took a tour to Toledo 1/2 a day, worth every penny. We loved it look forward to returning soon, would not stay anywhere else!

You are paying for the location of this hotel. VERY convenient and we had a room at the back so not noisy at all. Room was clean & new looking but tiny. Large bathroom with good shower.Better quality and priced breakfast can be found outside the hotel.

We requested non-smoking, adjoining rooms but when we arrived at the hotel, we had been allocated one room on the first floor and one on the fourth floor (the smoking floor). We were told the hotel was full and that there was no other option. However, when I insisted that we weren't prepared to put our children in a smoking room, the receptionist found a lovely room on the second floor. We were very pleased with the room. Our room on the first floor was extremely tiny and there must have been some problem with the bathroom as it was very smelly. When we asked if we could swap that room, we were given a room on the second floor - equally as tiny, but not smelly, and just down the corridor from our teenagers. So, in the end, we were perfectly happy as we had two non smoking rooms that weren't too far apart.

Very good location. Do not get the breakfast at Hotel. Instead walk to ""El Museo del Jamon"" and you will be eating a good breakfast for 2-3 euros.

The Petit Palace Londres was an excellent base for our holiday in Madrid. Everything about the hotel suited our purposes perfectly. It is extremely central for sightseeing and for transport links - very close to the Metro, to buses, and to taxis. We booked online through LateRoooms.com and got an excellent bargain. It is situated on a very busy thoroughfare and we enjoyed some wonderful musicians playing into the early hours of the morning. Breakfast was excellent and the staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. On arrival in Madrid we took a taxi from Madrid Airport to the hotel and were ripped off - having been charged 45 Euros. However on our departure we asked the hotel to book a taxi for us and it was a much more reasonable 28 Euros. We had a fabulous time in Madrid and staying at The Petit Palace Londres was perfect for us.
