Horrible experience. My husband and I had an horrible experience that began with a check-in at 2AM made by unprepared personnel that had us spinning around for 2 hours showing all their terrible small, airless rooms and we ended up with a suite with no air condition, an old mattress, a very dirty carpet and 2 dead cockroaches in the terrace with a Jacuzzi that needed to be cleaned by the housekeeper before you could get in. Next morning we woke-up in this lovely garden - nothing special in Madeira - and a disappointing breakfast for a 4 stars hotels with less than passable food. By midday we went to a bad-smelling sauna and a Turkish bath that needed a refurbishing. The Jacuzzi had no bubbles and the Gym had only old machines. When we tried to complain the unfriendly personnel in the reception (that refuse to give their name when they scream and yell to you on the phone) basically said that their hotel group doesn't like complains and gives special attention only to time-share customers that packed the hotel. Be warned that when you check out you may risk to be woken-up by three security personnel's with the front desk manager, treating you not like customers but like criminals, that have to make space for the next time-share customers just arrived. An horrible experience. My advise: don't go near it.
