run down, dirty, they try to make out it is a four star hotel, but it is more like a 2 star with bar service,no hot water for 4 days, lights and aircon go off every night sometimes for hours.

I booked an "oceanview" room, only to find out that the hotel is between a highway and a major road. Oceanview is like saying the room faces Europe -- it is out there somewhere. I had expected ocean breezes going through my room. But the hotel is -- according to the front desk clerk -- "set back 500 feet" from the ocean. This means behind another hotel & across several streets. The clerk was really quite rude about it. The address is incorrect, in terms of accessing it. You enter the hotel from the main highway on the island. The bath/furnishings are not top quality, but they try to make up for that with top notch toiletries. The breakfast is nothing special. Overall, I went away feeling that this place was not worth the expense.

Visit here less than six months ago for a wedding, liked it and returned and wish we had not.The whole resort is run down,no staff and the staff there are not interested. Also the western manager,we were told was fired to save money and it shows. The pool had a layer of mould in it for the 8 days we were there,we told the staff, but were told no one was able to clean it.The room was ok,but for the money we paid for the standard room you can get much better in other resorts. Also no hot water in the sink, not a defect, just no hot water ever!!!! The food was always cold and quite often it ran out if you are a bit late.you can eat cheaper and better at the cafe near the front entrance of the resort.I can not see how a resort can go this way in such a short time.It seems everything is done to get money off you and they have much less staff than before. We were over booked to sart,so they offered us Villa Lawana,as an upgrade,it is from the same hotel group,it is huge, expensive and lots of high steps, not for our kids. They were very rude at the front office when we said we did not want to go there. All in all I wish we had gone to another resort as planned,my advice stay away

Having stopped here ,last years and were very impressed we were shocked to find this visit that the Western General Manager Jon had left, the other very friendly staff had also left ,Mr Sakol cafe manager, and most of the other english speaking staff and now all the staff seem to think about is their tips and service, well there is none. The rooms are old apart from the new wing, which is a design that we could not understand, the bed room is airco and the rest of the room is open,so you leave a cool room to have a shower or go to the WC and come back bitten to death by the bug and sweating like mad. The room we had was clearly very old, there were mushrooms growing out of the wood work near the bath.It had been painted, but that could not cover the standard of it all. The waiters were very friendly, but the cafe was always empty,as the food is the same price as a lot of the 5 star hotels in the area and is a 2 start standard.most people eat out side. The small lady that runs the small coffee shop is also very friendly, but the worst people have to be the reception staff, they are just rude and not interested, just interested in their commission and nothing else. The area is very good, but a lot of snakes on the peace resort in the gardens and beach area,so we did not feel like laying anywhere at all.It was a huge let down over last year and will be our last visit
