the Peabody is a Southern classic. the hotel is beautiful and the staf was great. we were only in Memphis for one night, but we covered everything...dinner at the Rendezvous (ribs), drinks on Beale & watched the entrance of the ducks into the lobby fountain.

Atmosphere is great. Located in great spot for tourist. Walk to hotel from self parking is a little far. Valet parking was available. Excellent features and very enjoyable stay!

Beautifully restored hotel. Wonderful lobby area to sit and have a drink or to just bring the kids by to watch the ducks. Very nice rooftop view of Memphis. Didn't visit any of the hotel restaurants but did enjoy appetizers and breakfast on the Club level floor. This amenity was very nice in the evening with X hosting. She was very helpful with recommendations for seeing the city.

My family and I were so excited to stay at the Peabody because of the legendary ducks but my children were over them the first time we saw them enter and leave. It's so crowded when the ducks arrive that my children were usually pushed to the side and unable to see. We stayed in a Superior Room and the actual room was spacious but the bathroom and dressing area were horrible! It was the smallest bathroom I have ever been in. The room wasn't super clean, the t.v. was outdated, and there was no water pressure in the shower. The street noise is pretty bad too so don't expect to get a good night's sleep. Also, the indoor pool is ok but it is weird that it's still indoor and not somewhere glamorous like the rooftop. The staff was very friendly, treated my children great, and the lobby area is beautiful. I just think it's time for The Peabody to freshen up a bit.

We rented a car but it wasn't necessary. One could walk to many area attractions including the Civil Rights Museum and Beale Street.

Overall atmosphere and location. Parking and general service fee. Everything was excellent. Room, staff, atmosphere, location, etc. and I would recommend for it to anyone staying in Memphis. The lobby was beautiful, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, the location was excellent, and our rooms were very nice and clean. My only complaint is the additional fees. Although we are aware that a lot of hotels charge fees for parking and internet, we will never find them acceptable/reasonable. With the abundance of parking at this location, self-parking should not be an additional fee.

I don't see that it is possible to over rate the Peabody. The is the landmark hotel of the South, and it just feels like home. From the moment you walk in, the lobby, the staff, the rooms, the food and drink, the location... nothing can be beat. It's old southern charm at it's best and worth every single dime. The ducks are cute, they might be a tad over rated... watching them swim is cute, the march itself is a bit too chaotic for me personally. I love this hotel and would never stay anywhere else in Memphis. Period. I wish this hotel was in every city I travelled to.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay. Everything was clean, beautiful and well staffed. The restaurant was excellent. Check in was a little rocky as none of the front desk staff spoke English as a first language. The only thing lacking was FoxNews. Would love to go back as soon as possible!

The lobby looked like so much fun but I wasn't feeling well so we went to our room. It was very nice with a king beg and sitting area. The bathrooms were clean and elegant. Small but that is to be expected in an older hotel. The best thing about the Peabody is the service. A nice lady turned down our bed, closed the blinds, brought us warm robes, and turned on soft music. We skipped room service and ordered take out from Capriccio Grill. The portions were large (we should have shared) and delicious. I usually do not like staying in the room but this time it was relaxing and restful. The Peabody has a wonderful character from the lobby to the guest rooms. I love it!

It was a great weekend and the hotel nice. I was surprised by the unexpected and unexplained charges at the end. They hit me with a daily convenience fee of $10 per day plus a $16 per day fee for parking. This was not explained on reservation or checkin and should not have happened. Maybe a sign of the times with hotels in a tough economy. Watch out.

Very clean, and great location. Had to pay almost $20 to self-park at a hotel! Clean and comfortable rooms. Great atmosphere. Should have had a refrigerator in room for the price.

The Peabody is truly a grand hotel from another time and I recommend it wholeheartedly for any special occasion. (Make one up, if you must.) From the architecture to the staff to the room accommodations, it's a tremendous, memorable place to stay. The hotel staff is very professional and, upon check-in, the clerk offered (and sold) me an upgrade to a very nice, very large corner room with a king-size bed for only $35 nightly. This brought my per-night price up, but still a good deal less than the least expensive room on the hotel's web site, let alone the king room where we stayed. The bathroom was very nice and well-equipped, with a full compliment of fresh towels daily. I have stayed at some otherwise nice hotels who were saving money and inflating their bottom line -- in the name of ecology, of course -- by skimping on towels. None of that garbage at the Peabody! Sometimes, you really do get what you pay for. Let me sum up by saying that I had heard of the place for years and booked the hotel for my wife and I on our 20th wedding anniversary. I was terrified that it would turn out to be over-priced and over-rated, but it turned out to be the best decision I made this year and I will say that my wife was VERY pleased. It was like we were kids again, running free and living wide. Long live the Peabody Hotel in Memphis! And, for what it's worth, I didn't see the ducks, but it didn't really matter. Maybe next time!

Get a room in a close hotel and enjoy the lobby. The rooms are dark, dank, and musty! OVERPRICED! And the staff acted as if they were doing us a FAVOR to respond to our questions. I travel a lot, and would NEVER recommend this place to anyone! If you want a historic building, go to a museum. For a good hotel, go elsewhere!

Location. Old hotel, newer remodel, and terrible bathrooms. Nice room. Terribly small bathroom. Clean but not on same level as other 4 star hotels.

Fine stay. Lovely facility. Good location. However, when I stay at a 4-5star I do not expect to be nickeled and dimed. Parking (self-valet more) ran around 16+ per day! Ridiculous when parking decks all around run *per day. Upon check out we were charged an additional *per day of stay for amenities. When I inquired in regards to this, I was told this was for use of pool, workout facilities and coffee. So silly! Yes, a negligible amount all together, but no one likes to feel taken advantage of at the last minute. By the way, never had coffee. No in room coffee service available, unless of course you purchase the * pot from room service.
