Location, short walk to lots of options. Noise of other guests frequently right outside doors. Location is good, can be noisy, and beds not the most comfortable, but you get what you pay for. For one or two nights, its fine, anymore than that, you may want to reconsider.

Older design with very little in the way of dresser space or closet space. One wall of room has full length bench; not sure what its original purpose was, but it works to set bags, etc. on. That being said, was clean, well maintained and quiet. Good location for accessing downtown Victoria and the waterfront. Front desk staff didn't seem to be as knowledgeable of the local area as I would have expected, though. I would steer clear of the attached restaurant, however. We went for dinner on a weeknight. There were only four other customers in the restaurant, yet it took nearly a half-hour for our order to be delivered. Our waitress disappeared for about twenty minutes midway during our meal. Also, the food wasn't that great. We did not eat another meal there, based on this poor experience.

Great for a no-frills accommodation. The staff were friendly and courteous. The room was clean and decently appointed. Absolutely no complaints from us!

Nothing. The bathroom was dirty, The toilet didn't function right, The room smells like Cigarette. The hotel room was very dirty and it smell like a smoke room. The staff was very unfriendly. The room was very hot inside and didn't have an A/C. It only had a very small air blower and I was sharing the room w/ my best friend, so only one of us was able to use it. I would never visit that hotel again and I learn a lesson about making a big for a hotel.

Loved the location, helpful front desk, clean rooms, free parking, free wireless internet. excellent value.. absolutely no complaints. LOVED IT!

Price was kind of high because of its good location. You will have a large space if you are using the single bed. Double bedroom is about the same size with two beds, moderate space. Court room is quite to stay at night although the court does not look fancy. I didn't use it but I also liked that there was a microwave in the room. I liked their soap too.

Reasonable price. One block walk to Chinatown, 4 blocks to main tourist area. Within 1 block are routes 1 and 17, the main routes north and west. Restaurant open 24 hours. Meals are coffee shop type but one third the price of downtown. Recommend courtyard rooms.

Free parking, very friendly staff. No air conditioning, carpets very dirty, did not feel very safe. In room safe broken. Restaurant on site, decent food, a little pricey room does not deserve a one star rating. Carpets very dirty, bathroom not cleaned, no air conditioning and I had to climb on top of a table to get the ceiling fan on, the safe was broken but, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

I stayed there for only 1 night with no problems. Because the hotel is cheap there were also some cheap people there - just a bit noisy nothing serious. Tip: ask for room on top floor. Breakfast was good.

Our family of 4 had a great stay at Paul's. Although not elegant,the room was clean, staff friendly, easy walk to chinatown, downtown, harbor area. Very good price even in high season. Shower temp was a little hard to adjust but not too bad. Wish we had booked one more night. Would definitely go back. Highly recommend this hotel to other travelers.

Clean, excellent value for price. Outside room (not in the courtyard) were not as safe because there was not an extra security door. We stayed in the courtyard room, which I highly recommend above a standard room. The walls are wood paneled and reminded me of being in a lodge in the woods. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was fine. They even provided shampoos and conditioners, which was nice considering it was the cheapest hotel in Victoria. The adjacent cafe is perfect for families and the food was really good. The hotel is very conveniently located (approx. 15 minutes walk from downtown) and the parking was free. For the price, I'd definitely stay there again.

Good location, courtyard was better than the regular room. Wouldn't stay again, paid too much, and didn't like the smell of the room. Would only stay in the courtyard rooms, good location. Would not stay here again.

Great location in Victoria. Small rooms, but clean. I would not recommend this hotel for more than a couple of nights. It is simple with no thrills, but a great rate. The room was small but clean.

Good value for the price, clean, convenient location. Felt that rooms outside of the courtyard were not as safe. We were rather skeptical of this hotel because it was only a 1-star rating; however, it's a great value for the price. We stayed in the courtyard rooms, which I definitely recommend above the regular city-view rooms. They are located in a section that has an additional door for security and it set apart from the rest of the hotel. The walls are wood paneled and reminded me of staying in a lodge in the woods. There is an adjacent diner where we ate both breakfast and dinner. I would definitely stay here again because the price was right; it was clean, quiet, conveniently located, and an overall great experience.

It was close to downtown and easy to get to a bus. It is central located. The hotel is ok for one night. It did not have any thing to offer. It is ok to sleep and leaf. The rooms are old, the front desk personnel are very unfriendly and not helpful at all. Because of the weather in Victoria Ileurned, it is very important to have something more than an old room with only a fan.

Many nice extra touches, such as books describing tourist activities, history of Paul's, and Victoria. Wish there was room service. Breakfast did not meet our expectations for value/price. Paul's is located conveniently, features large, comfortable and clean rooms and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
