It appears to be under renovation; I would highly, highly suggest asking for/demanding a room on the 2nd floor for the time being. Our room on the first floor was not in very good shape. If you look past the rough appearance, you do notice that the place is clean and the bed is clean. The staff was very nice (we got free donuts and coffee in the morning) and there wasn't much noise at all. It was what it was. I would recommend it as long as you can get a room on the second floor (or, if they give you a room on the first, make sure that you can see the room beforehand and that it's to your liking.

The hotel appearanc inside including the rooms was bad. I would not stay there again.

This is an older motel that is under construction right now. it looks like the rooms and motel will be improved substantially. At the moment, certain aspects of the room (including furniture & phones) seem to be temporary fixes. The rooms are large and clean and, with more furniture, will be fine.They include a refrigerator and microwave but no coffee pots; many have balconies. The staff was very nice. There is an Indian restaurant in front. The hotel is about a 2-mile drive from the Wesleyan campus. Since housing in Middletown often is limited and can be inexpensive, this is a fine alternative for the budget traveler.
