One night stay July 2009This hotel was a great find and I would definitely stay again. It is in a great location, 2 minutes from St Andrew's Square. They were very accommodating and provided tea and toast after midnight even though room service was no longer available. Breakfast was very good, great selection. Loved it and would recommend, 5 stars!

On the upper end of the price range but good value, if like us you keep an eye out for reduced rates. A bit of a climb to get there, but faultless otherwise. Could have had a little more on the plate for the cooked breakfast perhaps, but good quality none the less.

I was on business in Northern Ireland, and wife was along. We decided on a last-minute weekend get-away to Scotland, just because we could. After searching hostels and being disappointed at the cost, location, and other details, I came across the Parliament Hotel, and booked it based on price and reviews. We were NOT disappointed in any way! We arrived about 12:30 am on the bus, and took a cab ride to the motel - #2.50. We were surprised at how close it ended up to be - only about 1 block away from the Andrews bus station. First impression, from the rainy dark night, was that this was going to be another old, dilapidated motel. Boy, was that wrong! The lobby was very nice and comfortable, and had plenty of chairs and areas to read or talk, and a full sampling of whisky's. We were greeted warmly by B, the night manager, who was MORE than friendly, courteous, and helpful. He brought us to our room and showed us around, pointing out the lights and such. The room was the cleanest hotel room I have ever been in, and the price was cheaper than private rooms in hostels. We had a king-size bed in a very nice room that was obviously taken care of. The bathroom was immaculate and recently remodeled. The staff was superb, and food was great! The room was very quiet both nights we were there, however the building across the street was being worked on, so it might have been noisy during the week. Perfect location - only 2 blocks from city center and tourist stuff! LOVED THIS HOTEL!!!! ***SIDENOTE:DO NOT VISIT NORTHERN IRELAND OVER JULY 12 - they do not welcome tourists, and EVERYTHING is shut down - restaurants, tourist attractions, and whole cities!!

A good first impression...This was our first hotel for our first ever visit to Scotland. It is a lovely building and the room we had was well decorated and very clean. The staff, while not unpleasant, were not particularly chatty/welcoming. Breakfast was good.

Pleasant in a very good city centre location, I got thsi for an excellent price of £75 per night B&B, very tasty breakfast, well appointed rooms, very friendly staff; there is a building project going on behind the hotel but it did not cause much disruption, the main drawback is the situation with the parking, not sure about other city centre hotels in Edinburgh but the only available parking is in the NCP carpark around the corner at a price of £19 per day, so this should be considered when looking at the price of your Hotel.

We booked at the last minute and our first choice of hotel was booked. I am very glad we chose the Parliment House! The rooms were beautiful and close to The Royal Mile -- everthing is there. Would definately recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Edinborough.

Very decent, graceful hotel, right in the centre a small walk from Waverley Station, yet very secluded and peaceful. No car park, but there's a small area of single yellow line if you get there late enough and get up early enough. When is free wifi going to become standard though?!

Lovely breakA very central hotel, with a variety of rooms - old and newer. We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a suite, which was very spacious, lovely facilities, and a real treat. The position is fantastic for exploring Edinburgh, as you are just minutes from the raillway station, where all the tour buses and things start - close to shops, sights etc.

Not too badNice hotel in its traditional setting. There is no lift so if you are on the top floor it can be a bit of a walk. Room was large and looked nice. Bathroom also a good size and clean. Breakfast was good and breakfast staff very helpful. Staff at main desk ok but did not look that interested at times. One big drawback for me and my wife was the beds. They really were not up to standard. Being such an important part I am surprised they were not better. Apart from this the hotel was good but I got the feeling with just a little bit more attention this hotel could be much better. In summary not bad for 94 pounds given central location but please sort out the mattresses

Staff are friendly and helpful .The breakfast was good with a choice that should suit most tastes. will be booking again for next years marathon

The Hotel RoomThe hotel room was very comfortable except that there was no lock on the window, which can easily be amended.Apart from that, the beds were very comfortable and the room was pleasant. Also, the staff were friendly and efficient.

Parliament House Hotel, Edinburgh - ReviewUnfortunately our hotel stay was not a great experience. Our room was missing a bedside table on one side and the TV remote control didn't work. In addition we were opposite a building site where noisy work started at 7.00 am on Saturday morning. Also the wi-fi connection did not appear to be working. However, good points - the hotel was in a good location, a lovely building and the bistro was good - the full Scottish breakfast was a treat, and the customer service excellent. Appreciate we were visiting Edinburgh on a very busy weekend, but would have expected more for £200 a night
