The hotel (Monte Mar) was very clean, the staff was exceptionally friendly and the Bistro 111(the hotel's attached restaurant) had good food at reasonable prices. My only complaint was that my husband and I slept below a family with children and were awakened at approx 6:30 a.m. by the sound of children jumping on the bed(s) and thudding onto the floor and then running back and forth across the room for nearly 2 hours. Even after we phoned the front desk, the miserable noise continued. So, my complaint is more about the noisy children that kept us from sleeping than about the hotel itself. "Thin" walls and floors is all.

amtrack comes by quit a few times a day, and there are still people living right a cross the street in their cars, the room was nice spacious and clean

The Parkside Motel was far from the main building. The bathroom was dirty (not cleaned) so they upgraded to another room near the main building. The bathroom was cloggeg up in this new room and flooded, perhaps the previous guests used too much toilet paper, the chain inside the toilet broke. Went to the closes bathroom in the main building (second floor) from the registration desk and guess what, someone left a sizable deposit with lots of toilet paper inside the toilet and did not flush it. It was suppose to be an executive bathroom. What a bathroom nightmare, never experienced anything like this before. No ice machines in the small building were we stayed (very inconvenience). The first closes ice machine in the main building was not working either, had to use the one at the very end of the building, it took nearly 15 minutes to get a bucket of ice. Other than those stated above, rest of the stay was fine.

The hotel was good enough for a last minute trip. It was clean, free wireless internet (awesome!), a bit small for the price paid. There were people living in their cars and vans parked across the street. Scary at first but I guess they were harmless. Front desk receptionists at the Mar Monte were friendly and helpful. The AC in the room was pretty loud! The TV was weak! It's remote control was hardly remote as it was like the controllers for the video games (with a very long cord). But you can't even connect the XBox to it! I would probably go back if I didn't have any other choice.

went to the beach. we got a very nice upgrade deal, got the room right in front of the beach. wonderful building structure. got the best value for the priced paid. friendly staff. great room service. will come back here again.

The hotel is close to East Beach and the long beach promenade. Nice room, nice beds, good shower. Plenty of free parking which is nice in SB

This hotel, although set apart from the main hotel, was a pleasant suprise! I would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking to stay in Santa Barbara and not spend an outrageous amount of money. It's just as nice as a 3 star hotel, very close to State Street and the pier. The staff is amazingly courteous and friendly. The room was beautiful, cozy and felt like home. We honestly had a hard time leaving the bed because it was so comfortable. I give this place two thumbs up!!

We stayed here not knowing what to expect. It wasn't out of the way-only across the street-so not inaccessable to restaurant,pool etc. The room was charming with full shower/tub bathroom. We liked it so much we stayed again on our way home to San Diego.Staff very friendly and cooperated fully to save my sweater from being lost so it was returned to me when we came back the next week-Thumbs up to all who made our stay so enjoyable

The Parkside Inn is a satellite owned by the much larger and more expensive Mar Monte Hotel about 1 1/2 blocks away and you have to check in there and then drive to the Parkside, where there is no front desk. The room was clean but unattractive and sparsely furnished. They accept pets but charge a one-time $75 cleaning fee in addition to the room rate. You are allowed to use the big hotel's pool and facilities.

The Parkside Inn is an annex to the Hotel Mar Monte and is located approximately two blocks from the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and the building was well maintained. The Inn has no amenities onsite, but guests are entitled to use everything the hotel has to offer. While I enjoyed a massage, my husband enjoyed breakfast and a swim. The Hotel is a beautiful Landmark property, and staying at the Inn is a remarkable value.

The Parkside was close to the beach and reasonably close to downtown. The pool, exercise room, and restaurant were located in a different building. We did not take advantage of these facilities.

The Parkside in was a great hotel. Its location was amazing: walking distace from the beach. The staff was freindly with my family and for that im thankfull. The rooms were resonibly priced and the size was perfect.

While very close to the beach, the Parkside Inn was about a mile from the happening, restaurant area. The room was very large, suite style with a nice balcony that was accessible from the bedroom and the living room. The bed fixings (comforter especially) could use to be more comfortable.

The room was dirty had a bad odor. The first night is so noisy (room 143), I missed a night sleep (that room should never be used). Changed to second floor the next night, noise was better but room just as dirty food from the guest before me was left outside my door and never moved. I will never stay at this hotel again, I booked in June elsewhere.
