The Park Royal is a must stay when visiting Penang. This location has many benefits, such as a great pool for adults and a separate pool/slide for the kids, or walk right out to the beautiful beach and at night go shopping at the Night Market right outside the hotel. Restaurants in the hotel are very nice but are quite expensive. There are many other options within 1-2 blocks.

doesn't look great from the outside but when you're inside it's so relexing. NOt to mention the colourful night market is just outside.

When I first check in as the elevator opens it's door to my room level a pungent evil smell surged forward. The stench was worst then some dirty public toilet. They said the floor carpet give out smell when it's washed. I then request for a change of room. They cannot give me the same sea view I asked for as the hotel is full which I doubted. Then I called for ice in my room. I was told to get to the basement myself to fetch it. If I want delivery it will cost . I checked out the next day even though I booked for 4 days. The only redeeming part is the international breakfast which has a good selection and a juice bar.

A fabulous 10 night stay -we asked for an upgrade with a balcony and within 10 minutes we were given this. Staff were very polite and made every effort to accommodate needs. Drinks are $10AUD for cocktails. Happy hour 20% off at 5pm- beer and wine buy one get one free. Breakfast was excellent. Coco Bananas cafe offered great snacks at good prices ($10 AUD). Nightly, themed buffets at night in restaurant, however, we did n-markets. Rooms are comfortable and housekeeping very good. The decor is maintained and is good quality given the age of the hotel. Don't expect brand new, but don't expect to be disappointed. Day Spa is sensational and not as cheap as outside operators. The service, decor and quality is good. Night markets are right outside the hotel at night. We were really happy staying here. I'd stay again and recommend it. Particularly good for families with a seperate pool and slide and the coco-kids-club was popular with a host of activities for children.
