Overall our trip was great. The beach, seaside pools, and snorkeling were our favorite parts. The breakfast buffet was a nice start then down to the beach/pools for the day. We rented a car and spent a day checking out the different "beach bars" and the snorkeling at our hotel was the best we found. The Italian restaurant (reservations required)was the best food in the place by far. The staff was very nice. Only complaints were that the pools closed at 7:00 (way before sunset) and the bars that were supposed to be open until 7:00 really closed about 6:00-6:30. Also, if you don't get a room above the 4th floor you can't see the beach from your room. We asked frequently to be moved up a few floors but were told nothing was available when we could see a number of rooms were empty which was frustrating. All and all a great trip for you family of four with 2 adult children. The all inclusive was definitley the way to go for us.

The Park Royal Cozumel provided just about everything to make the trip a great experience! The All-Inclusive feature was pretty impressive-the buffet food was fresh, tasty and generally varied. The alcohol options were decent although, more draft beer choices would of been nice. During the day you could help yourself to all the hamburgs, hot dogs and nachos you wanted - this did get old really fast. The hotel layout, rooms, and ambiance of the premises (stone/tile-Mayan) were very nice; iguanas and peacocks roaming the area were pretty cool. Service is exceptional - anything we requested was provided in a timely manner (we wanted the A.C. in our room lowered to a cooler temp. & it was done right away). A couple of areas for improvement: 1. The nightlife options. Every evening there was a "show" in the outdoor theater however, it was hokey (more for kids). A great addition would be to have LIVE MUSIC on the premises (other guests commented on this, too)! We would of loved to do some dancing to a nice Latin band, etc. The only adult nightlife option on the premises was the Sports Bar. 2. Have a pool open in the evening (past 7 pm) preferably just for adults. 3. Have one of the Infinity pools be just for adults at all times. Overall, we had an extremely relaxing vacation. The Park Royal Cozumel is a great spot, especially for families but also ok for singles and adults without children. We were adults without children and will most likely return there again!

we enjoyed our stay very much staff was always working hard to keep place clean, food and drinks almost anytime you wanted them we did alot of scuba diving which is why we stayed in cozumel water is better than cancun for diving but the beach areas are smaller in cozumel.the hotel was very nice, they gave you 2 bottles of water daily when they cleaned rooms. the time share people asked often about doing tours but usually would leave you go after you said no. We wished the rooms would have had king size beds instead of 2 double beds but other than that our 2 week stay was great we plan to stay there again soon if possible food at the italian and mexican restaurants which good the buffets always had a good selection.snack bars had hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwich, pizza and nachos everyday from 11 am to 6 pm

We stayed 4 nights and 5 days at the Park Royal and had a great time. Here is a list of Pro's and Con's: Pro's: The staff was great, they were willing to help and really kept the grounds picked up. The activities during the day were fun. The rooms were very clean and the time share horror stories I read about were not true (in my case). The Con's: The beach is rocky and small. We were hoping for a big sandy beach and it's hard to find in Cozumel. The sandy beaches are located on the Gulf of Mexico side and the swimming conditions are poor on that side of the island. The food is good, not great and they had a lot of repeat items day after day (the fruit was really good though). I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a nice relaxing vacation. Cozumel doesn't have a great night life but it does provide for a good relaxing break from the daily grind. We rented scooters one day and had a great time driving around the island. They also rent cars, jeeps, dune buggies, etc... Some of the "free" beaches have a minimum purchase so be careful when you are out (San Fransisco Beach you had to spend $10 per person at the bar and grill). Overall this was a great experience and I would go back. Hope this was helpful to you.

We had a great time at Park Royal! Resort was spotless, drinks were great, and the grounds are beautiful. Plus the snorkeling right off the beach was great!

We paid for an upgraded room with ocean view. We didn't get it even though we PAID for it. We were told those rooms were closed but the second day we were there, others were assigned those rooms. No matter how many times we asked (about 7-10) we were denied. We were told if we purchased their TIME SHARE and became members we would get what we paid for but otherwise we weren't getting anything. The food is awful and it's always the same things. Who wants FISH for breakfast? We were very disappointed and will not stay at this resort again. We were sad because we stayed here in 2/2008 and it was fabulous. We brought our teenagers back and this is the way we were treated. Stay somewhere else!

We liked some of the people that worked there. Manager was terrible. He was not friendly or helpful. We liked the hotel but our daughter was very ill after eating in the Italian restaurant. She could not eat or even go out of the room for days. We got there and had problems checking in and then the Sunday we only were there one day and she ate 2 and was so sick that we almost took her to the hospital. While checking out we found that she was not the only one and that several families had the same experience with the Italian restaurant.

The staff who ran the pool/kids activities were fantastic! So good at what they do! They had a daily activity board filled with fun activities to do all day....mostly ranging from sports(which my ten year old boy loved) to craft projects, nail painting and even poker lessons. Very well rounded activities for people of all ages. The nightly shows were so entertaining and a great way to end the day. I would highly recommend making dinner reservations nightly at either their Mexican or Italian restaurant, the buffett is not so great. Very clean grounds and friendly bar staff.

This hotel is one of the cleanest I've been to. The staff is very friendly and the rooms are comfortable. The pool and other grounds are beautiful and relaxing. The only sour point is the food. It is awful. I lived off of bread and watermelon. You won't have to worry about gaining weight on this vacation.

My fiance & I stayed @ the hotel from March 16-March 19. From the time we arrived we were impressed. We did have to wait a while for our room, due to check-in times. After a while of waiting too long due to jet lag, we had to insist they give us a room. While we were given a room, there were 2 beds & it was next to the elevator. It's our belief that was intentional on the part of the hotel. That was a bit upsetting, but we made the best of it. The hotel is beautiful, the people friendly, the weather great, the food & drinks were delicious! At one point from our arrival to our departure we were besieged by representatives offering tours regarding time shares, which they said were not time shares. We did take a tour & wished we could've bought a property. Again, it's a very beautiful place, however, although we enjoyed the tour, it made the tour anti-climatic because of the persistence of the reps from the airport to the hotel.

There is a lot of anxiety involved in choosing someplace new to stay when vacationing and this trip presented that. We read several reviews and while price was a key factor, the reviews and what people had to say about the resort were equally as important. This is a mayan themed resort with a beautiful but simple lobby covered by a towering thatched roof. There are 3 seperate pool areas, my favorite being an infinity style pool overlooking the ocean, although I could do without the cruise ships. There are bars at every pool and great bartenders if you give them a chance. The food is what you make of it, if you expect 5 star cuisine you will be disappointed. Several people recommended the Italian restaurant on site but I much preferred the Mexican (the Grouper was very good)! The staff keeps the rooms very clean, the only complaint would be that the A/C struggled to keep the room cool. There are timeshare people but I did not find them to be very pushy. All in all, I was pleased with the resort, I would recommend to friends, and I will most likely return.

A girlfriend chose this hotel for a girl's trip simply for the price and the fact that it was all inclusive- boy were we surprised by how wonderful this hotel is. The food was incredibly good- not just good for an all-inclusive hotel- just damn good!! Everything was fresh and vibrant and surprising. By the second day we felt so safe to eat anything we even had drinks with ice and drank the water- both normally no-no's while traveling abroad. Numerous bars, two infinity pools, private beach with tunnel access so you never had to leave the hotel if you didn't want to. This was also a great place for families. There were activities throughout the day -if you are into that- a kid's zone with two large water slides, beach soccer and volleyball and an arts and crafts area. The service was excellent. They greet you in the lobby and essentially carry you along with your luggage to your room giving you a tour of the grounds along the way. By the second day some of the waiters and bell boys knew my name. The only thing anyone in our group wished they could get that you couldn't find on the grounds at the resort were french fries- when that is your biggest problem you are doing pretty well. BTW- we ventured out on the last night there to Margaritaville and quickly found out we should have just stayed on the resort. It was the worst meal we had during our stay. Bottom line- we are trying to figure out when we can return with the kids! BTW- have the coconut crusted grouper at the Mexican rest. IT WAS INCREDIBLE!!

Let me say first, that this is the only hotel I will stay at in Cozumel. My stay was wonderful. The staff were so kind and ginuine when my partner and I stayed there. The rooms really do look like the pictures, only better! The food was great and you had tons of choices at the buffett. I was so impressed by how clean everything was, like little invisible people walk behind you and clean your mess. The resort has much to do if u prefer to say in but for those looking for fun, take a $20 cab ride to paradise island beach, $10 all day water sports, beach chair waiter service, full food & drink menu. the resort is close enough to everything you would want to do and it's at the end of the strip so i got to see all the others that i'd looked at, from the outside, they don't compare. if you go tell louis at the front desk milagros said hola!
