Felix in the buffet was awesome (we had one meal away from the resort, it was only myself and wife $50.00) All inclusive, was so worth it! Use the bus, only 1 dollar each way. Pottery painting, beach, pools, gym, aqua world stuff was perfect (isla mujeres - best $65.00 ive ever spent). If you want a 5 star, stay at a 5 star. For the price Park Royal was perfect - you get more than your moneys worth!

This was a great hotel. Very clean and the staff are very friendly and are on top of things. The beach area is great, looks like the best in the hotel zone. Location was perfect, close to bus stop, shopping, and bars. The only thing I wish they had was internet access in the rooms. We were able to connect in the lobby but it would have been nice to have it in the rooms.

My wife and I stayed at Park Royal Cancun for 3 days. It is a cozy, clean and comfrotable hotel located in the middle of the hotel zone. It's not a large, luxurious hotel, but it has what is needed. The rooms, pools and beaches are supre clean. Other hotels have only a small beach, but Park Royal's beach was wide and even had a beach volley ball court. The food at the buffet was delicious with plenty of varieties. The beach front Italian a-la-carte restaurant was awesome. They didn't have a in-room internet, but the wireless internet in the lobby was free.

Good value for the money. The room was fairly average, the beds are firm, but I like that. The staff was GREAT, they went out of their way to be helpful and love it if you try to speak a little Spanish. The location and the pools were great and we never had a problem in finding a chair. At checkout they told us to keep our bracelets for the all inclusive until the van came for us and then they would take them, so we could have lunch first. I recommend the Italian restaurant, the service and food are good and they had a cello player on the nights we went, which gave it a romantic feel. There were many families with children and there seemed to be a lot of activities for them.

Absolutely gorgeous! We were greeted at the door with a drink. The hotel was always clean! The staff were all very helpful and kind. The buffet was good. Something new everyday so you didn't get sick of the food. The beach was great! We walked quite aways in both directions and found Park Royal to have one of the best and easily accesible beaches! Didn't have a problem getting a chair, but the the hotel wasn't very busy either. Took a day trip to Isla Mujeres. I was expecting more, so was a little disappointed. It was an overcast day with a little wind, so maybe that was why the water wasn't very clear for snorkeling. You had to wear a life vest which I haven't had to do before and found it to be annoying and a hinderance. Also, you had to stay within a certain area. Didn't really see much, so I was disappointed. The zip lines looked fun, but didn't do them. They were short and basically just over the water. On the way back, heard several people that enjoyed swimming with the dolphins. The drinks were okay. At times they were on the warm side, which caused some problems. But overall, can't complain. Beware of all the timeshare sharks. They are EVERYWHERE!

Most of the rooms in this property say "partial ocean view", which means if you bend out your window and lean over you can maybe see a slice of water. The hotel is sideways so there aren't a lot of full views. I tried to check in to my Presidential Suite at the Park Royal on April 8. From the minute I arrived they started offering me "better" rooms - I should have known I was about to get raked over the coals. The presidential suite is supposed to have a separate living area and bedroom, balcony jacuzzi and view of the ocean or lagoon. The first "better" rooms were two adjoining traditional rooms with no view (I'm traveling with two kids 6 and 8, so this is a non-starter). Then they show me another set of adjoining rooms, no view, no balcony or jacuzzi. Then they finally show me the "presidential suite" which in this case was a first floor, parking lot view. They claimed all the presidential suites were booked and they couldn't do anything for me. The hotel claims since they "gave me options" that I didn't take, they were going to bill me for one night's stay. After 1/2 hour with the desk managers X and X, and hours on the phone, I'm nowhere. I didn't stay there, but they sure kept my money. BTW, the place is a dump and the only allegedly good restaurant doesn't accept kids under 12, which they don't say on their web site.

I want to start by saying that I am not sure how anyone could review the Park Royal as anything but great. From the time we arrived, everything was beautiful. DO NOT listen to the negative reviews. Those people are never happy with anything. With that said, I can't tell you all the great things about the place. Presidential suite was great. Very large, quiet, the terrace with the jacuzzi was awesome. Staff: We did not come across one negative staff member. They have staff everywhere, there to please you. The wait staff are the best: nice, gracious, helpful. We adored Felix at the buffet. Always smiling. If you want something, ask. They will get it for you. Food: Something for everyone. The italian restaurant is excellent. The wine was very good there. Bars: Fine, no complaints whatsoever. Their margaritas are the best. a small tip will go a long way. ( true of all the staff). *** bring singles. we ran out but just spent more to get change. Other than the airport, NO ONE bothered us about the time shares. Walk away from anyone who stops you at the airport . Take the bus or cabs. They are equally reasonable and safe. WE went on the Albotros tour to La Isle Mujeres. It was a great tour. NOT as much snorkling as I hoped but they are there to please. This resort is beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous and they are working and cleaning all the time. We heard 1 hammer in 5 days from the construction. The beach is beautiful and you can body surf all day long. It is nice they have a private pool for the adults. There are activities all day and night. 5 star in my book.

From the moment you arrive, the service is great. The location is just great. 17 members of our family stayed at this hotel. They all loved it and will definitely return.

Over all a nice place, If you like the buffet style resturant. The nicer resturant was never avalable, they only took reservations from 2-4 pm, if you called later or earler they would not even talk to you about it. If you go out to do some thing than you cant get in,, even when i stayed at the property just to get my reservation, I called ten times in five minutes then went down to make them in person and they where full by 2:10. So I tryed to file a complant but they referred me to a help desk,, they got me in the next day, It was really nice but half empty? I think they save the resturant for guests that buy in to the time share they try to offer you while you stay there. The pool was always clean, drinks pretty good. beach was nice and they had a sand bar to play on in the water. Life guard station right on the beach,, not always maned but during the day I always saw some one up there. Also the view from our room was really bad, Im sure they have great views also but some one has to have the room i was in also. I drew the short straw, there was a couple at the front desk complaning about there view and they didnt get any where so I didnt even try. For the most part the staff was vary good.

The hotel was better than I expected. Cleaner than any of the others I have ever been to in Mexico. The location was good the food was good for all inclusive and the service, yes the service. It was great everywhere but in housekeeping. It was a hassle getting your room cleaned. Too many towels not enough towels Do not distrib sign didn't mean anything to them.On and on. One thing that was very beautiful but annoying was the marble everywhere. It was so noisy in the halls from the echos bouncing off the marble. But I loved it!!!

The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect, it was right on the strip and the beach was gorgeous. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Our room was big and very clean and we had no problems with getting mineral water. We also decided to pay the $2.00/day for the safe as nobody wants to get stranded in Mexico without a passport, not that we had any indication that there was such a possibility, but better be safe than sorry. Right across from the hotel is La Isla mall which is an outdoor mall with bridges and statues and right on the water and it's worth to walk around even though the prices were kind of high. The hotel had two restaurants, one was the buffet and the other was an Italian restaurant for which reservations had to be made. We did not go to the Italian restaurant as the food at the buffet was plenty and absolutely delicious, the desserts were also fantastic. On a scale from 1-10 I would definitely give this hotel a 10.

For the money the Park Royal is a bargain. Very clean resort. We stayed for our honeymoon and had a wonderful time. The beach is beautiful there. The Presidential sweet is wonderful ,providing your not on the bottom floor . We were on the 5th floor and the view is amazing. The staff is very nice and do not hound you about a time shares. Only down fall you only have two double beds ; not good for honeymooners. The food is good, hey its a buffett it gets old; but always good food. Very beautiful well maintained grounds. The hotel and rooms are kept spotless. I recomend this hotel its was a great stay!!!

The hotel was very nice including rooms, pools, service areas. I felt the food at the buffet was above average with a lot of variety and good quality. We ate at the Italian restaurant once and it was excellent. The drinks had a lot of alcohol in them and they had Corona on tap. The beach was nice and we could actually get in the water. A good experience.

We swam in the upper pool that is reserved for adults only. Bar was very close to pool. View was unbelieveable. Staff was very attentive to your every need. The food and restaurants were fantastic. You felt like royalty. Parasailing right from the beach.

The hotel is very nice and the food is very good. The beach is wonderful because some of the beaches around the hotel have been destroyed. Although it is an all inclusive they charge you for the use of the gym which is right on property, we were charged twice and they would not refund it so you have to be careful with you check out bill. Do not use Olympus tours to take you to the airport, it took us an hour to get to the hotel and on the way back ithey wanted to take us to the airport 4 hours prior to the flight. That service we paid $100.00 round trip which we paid for online priorand the taxi we ended up using on the return trip was $18.00 one way and took 15 mins. The people from Olympus very rude especially X. Do get pesos converted because all the stores and bars will charge a different rate for converting the money and it all adds up to quite a difference. BE very aware of the timeshare people who rope you in at the airport you do not realise it at the time. So time consuming.

This is not a 4 star hotel. There are actually only 2 pools not 3 as advertised unless you count the kiddy wading pool as the third. The food was mediocre and basically what was not consumed on the previous day showed up in another form the next day. Soup was clearly made from leftovers and there was little variety to the meals. There was no service at the pool so if you want a drink you have to go get it yourself. The staff are not friendly and they really do not want to take American money. This is an old hotel that lives up to the saying "You get what you pay for".

This was a very nice place for the money. The staff were all very friendly, the beach was nice, and the facilities were super clean and well maintained. The buffet was good and we found the Italian resturaunt to be very nice. Tips are not expected by the staff, but they do appreciate them. They have the electronic safes in the rooms that you can rent for $2 per day. I felt or stuff was secure in there. A couple of cautions - realize that the conciere is working for the "vacation club' sales office that is in the hotel. Nice guy, but he will try hard to get you to sit through their presentation. Don't be afraid to say no if it isn't your thing. The other caution is DO NOT book the ground transport Travelocity tries to sell you (Olympus Tours). They refused to give me the return ride I paid for because I refused to meet with their sales rep to hear about whatever they were selling. Just to be clear, Olympus is not part of the Park Royal, but I wish I had been warned of this. Take a cab, it is the same price and a lot quicker. Once we got over being upset about the ground transport hassle we had a great time at Park Royal.
