| I stay at hotels roughly 50 nights a year. This is the scariest hotel I have stayed in for years.
The place has not seen a paint brush this decade. The place is literally rotting.
The rooms are postage stamp size, not much bigger than the bed and amenities are substandard. Hotel deserves a NYC two stars. |

The room pictured on the website and described in the room-amenities desrciption is not as advertised. For the price paid and the location, AND the fact that it is a 3 star hotel in the theatre district left me wondering - where the hell am I? The Tower of Terror? Everything needs updating. The hallways are dank and dirty. Paint all over the hotel is in serious need of a refresh. Carpeting is circa 1985 and worn out badly. I'm surprised this hotel is still in business given its location. If you're looking to stay north of 100th Street in Manhattan then this hotel fits your needs...but in reality it certainly isnt worthy of its physical address in Times Square. Poor choice on my part. Take my advice, spend a few extra per night and stay somewhere modern. Everything here is small and old. The Paramount is only worth *//night if judging by its other mid-town Manhattan-hotel peers....

I really liked the hotel. I've stayed there before and will stay again. It's perfect for a single person or couple that wants to stay near the theatre district. I liked the modern appointments, the portrait headboards are a nice touch, and the stainless bathroom fixtures give the hotel a very modern and hip look. Lobby was fantastic, nicely decorated for Halloween and the martini bar is great.

Needs investment. Room was tired looking esp bathroom. Library Bar was closed early evening without explanation - looked abandoned and gave bad impression. Still a good location and just about value for money and quirky enough to differentiate it from the mega-hotels in the area.

...When you see the pictures on the site, you feel comfortable with your choice. However, once you arrive, you realize that it is NOT anything like the pictures. The lobby was dark and gave the illusion of a 40's cocktail bar. The elevators were dim in odd colored lighting. The hotel is undergoing some renovations and scaffolds are placed on the enterance. The halls were dark, carpets were dirty, and walls were peeling. Our room was "lucky" to have wake up calls...but not by the front desk personnel but, by the men working on the building. They were loud with their machinery. The beds were comfortable, but on the floor. The bathroom shower was dirty and had mildew stains. The sink handles leaked water so you could not place the blow dryer on the surface in fear of electricution. The front desk personnel was nice enough to upgrade our room upon arrival. The conceirge staff was very nice and very helpful! The location was great! We were minutes from all the shows we booked. The Little Mermaid show was steps away. Times Square, gift shops, and awesome restuarants, were at walking distance. There is this pizza place next door...that has the best breakfast and the best pizza! It was soo good and sooo cheap!

The hotel lobby is more like a nightclub. You have to shout at the receptionist to be heard. The location was the main attraction as it was right in Times Square. Overall a good, clean hotel but a bit pricey by International standards.

The lobby is nice but the elevators and hallways are dark and in need of updating or cleaning carpet. The mattresses in the rooms are on the floor. The bathroom is really small and I would suggest bringing flip flops to use the shower. The location is great but spend a little more for a clean and brighter hotel.

First time in NYC-expected high price but thought the room would have a little more going for it,Heating unit made lot of noise and bed took 90% of space. But it was steps from Times Square, Broadway and bus tour. Location, location, location!!

The hotel has a good location and clean modern decor in the lobby and common areas. Combined with the location that makes for a good value. But the management has let room quality suffer. Rooms are smallish and I don't mind that when priced accordingly. However, the rooms are getting run down with peeling paint and and beat up fixtures and porcelain in the bathroom. The room condition detracted from the overall experience.

When we arrived at the hotel we had arranged to pick up a FedEx package which included tickets to Yankees Stadium for an afternoon game. The person at the concierge was rude and made no effort to help us locate the package when it had not arrived. Our room was also extremely small and old. There were tiles on the floor that had come off, stains on the carpet and after one shower I decided I would wait to shower again when I got home (we were there 3 nights). The lobby is misleading and the rooms were a great disappointment. The one good thing was the central location; therefore if you just want to rest your head at night and don't care about customer service at all, this is your place!

This hotel is the perfect location if you are visiting Times Square as it is literally 30 seconds away! The rooms were quite small the prices were reasonable.

The room was tiny. Just enough space for the bed and some room to walk around it. Other than that, the finishings, cleanliness, and service were just fine for the price and location.
