Central and CheapUsed hotel for a trip to Custard Factory on a night out. The room was the cheapest they had (£30) so didn't expect much (and they didn't let me down!). They hotel is massive and the foyer and bar are well and modernly done out, as I presume the more expensive rooms are. Ours was very basic and fairly pokey but it sufficed for our trip. Good value for money and in walking distance from the Bullring Shopping Centre and Air and Custard Factory night clubs :)

I was there on business and only in the hotel to work and sleep. Room was cleaned daily with fresh towels.

This is a Ok central location hotel. There are old bathrooms, and litle water... but nice and clean :-) Only 10 minutes walking to Bullring center.

Staying at the Paragon Hotel Birmingham - Sat 4th JulyBeautiful building and really good value. Less than 10 min walk from city centre. Large car park opposite. Receptionist was helpful. We were given a turret room which was really nice. Couldn't really fault the hotel except for the carpets which could have done with stretching out a bit, they were quite rumpled.

An old world, but not neglected, style hotel with tons of character. Excellent Service and staff

If we had paid the full price displayed behind reception, I think we would have been disappointed. But as the rate we paid through 'HotelClub' was heavily discounted, the accommodation and breakfast were both very satisfactory!

Paragon - worth 30 no chance 125The hotel is lovely downstairs and staff were friendly and helpful but upstairs accommodation is tired, buckled carpets, mouldy shower head, small portable TV, faded signs every where - just generally looks like an old USA road side motel so i think £30 is fair enough but a Travelodge would be at least twice the size ad definately cleaner in my experience. Truly nice staff but a let down upstairs.

very pleasant staff - quick check in and out - breakfast very nice - room very clean and tidy.

The room was quite small. I think the mattress on the bed was quite old as I got poked with a few springs. There was an event going on in the evening which caused load music to be played in to the night. To be expected though as it's the Christmas season. The breakfast was very good & staff very friendly. Good hotel for an overnight stay but no longer. Great location for shopping.

The room we had had the paint coming off the walls so it looked a bit tacky

Basic and not as the pictures showAt £30 the hotel was value for money, but the pictures on the website show quality rooms. the room we stayed in was tiny, literally a foot either side of the bed. The room was clean and tidy. The shower in the bathroom was very vasic and a little mouldy, not a pleasurable experience. The area arund the hotel looked rough and we weren't happy to leave the car.I would say it is ideal for a cheap night out in Birmingham. But for £30........!

Although the rooms are pretty basic the location and price are excellent. I have stayed at several other higher starred more expensive hotels in the Birmingham area but none have met with the excellent customer service received from each end every one of the employees including kitchen staff at this hotel. The breakfast was also excellent

Paragon hotel reviewThe hotel itself was very nice for the little money spent. The area of Birmingham while very acessibly for city centre did not feel safe. As a lone travelling female I would not recommend walking at night in the area.Otherwise a very nice stay. No problems at all with the hotel.

looks lovely in the ground floor/ foyer. but you realise this is where all the cash went when you step off the elevator onto the hotel room floors. disgusting and shabby. i didn't even shower for the one night i stayed there

Great value for moneyGreat hotel within walking distance of the Arcadian in Birmingham. The area was very industrial but walking around in the day was fine, don't know if I would have been comfortable walking at night but the hotel were great in ordering us a taxi, which showed up in about 5 mins. The room was clean and comfortable and had all the basic amenaties. The rooms weren't very sound proof and we could hear people most of the night, there was a wedding on at the venue though so people were up quite late. I'd definetly stay there again, really cheap and worth what we paid.

A nice hotel not very far from the Centre of Town and not overpriced. Exterior of building very impressive. Only negative comment is the Breakfast. Not really worth getting up for.
