The rooms aren't huge, but they are clean and comfortable. You're in Rome; don't stay in your room! They're great for sleeping ;) The front desk was less than helpful for most things, and unless you're into tourist traps, don't ask them for recommendations for dinner. Also, they don't know a whole lot about the museums or tours, so don't bother with that either. Use the web and figure it out for yourself beforehand. You're going to be in a spot that is very rare in Rome. Bustling and amazingly beautiful during the day; quiet and safe at night.

Stephanie and Anna at the front desk were helpful and nice. The man that was working, however, was rude and provided no assistance. Staff in breakfast area were great, even knew which drinks we prefered and had them to us as we walked in.

The room was rather small - there was not even sufficient space for a small desk. But it is situated in a superb location; the breakfast room and breakfast were excellent; and the view from the terrace is worth the money alone

What a location! You are literally across the road from St Peters making the view from the terrace absolutely heavenly! The hotel is on the 3rd floor of the building with easy lift access and very secure. The rooms are beautifully fitted out, the breakfast enjoyable and the staff very helpful. We had been to Rome before and wanted a memorable accommodation experience before we flew home. Residenza Paolo V1 provided just that. We would highly recommend the hotel.

We came to Rome on pilgrimage, so Residenza Paolo VI was the perfect place to stay. By staying here there was no discontinuity between the marvelous religious expereinces we had in the Vatican and returning to our beautiful hotel, with friendly, competent staff,a crucifix in our room, and the daily Bible readings placed under our door each morning. From prayer to prayer - thank you!!

Hotel Residenza Paola VI is a beautiful hotel and was well situated for my elderly mother. In fact this was her 80th birthday present. Only one fact however marred the visit. On arrival to the hotel-at 9.00pm, we were informed by the receptionist that due to a mix up at the booking office, the single room booked was unavailable and my mother would have to spend the night at the nearby Cardinal Cesi hotel for the first night of our stay. This is a very nice hotel too, but we were very disappointed that a room we had booked 10 weeks prior to our arrival was not available and that no effort was made to inform us of this before arrival late on the Friday evening. The hotel did arrange taxi transference, and gave us food by way of apology, and were more than gracious the whole weekend. However I still fail to understand why this situation arose as we had booked well in advance!

We loved the Residenza Paolo. It was beautiful but watch out for pickpockets in Rome! Our stay at this hotel was superb. The staff was so friendly and kind especially when we were upset over having been pickpocketed. The location is the best if you want to stay near the Vatican. The columns of St. Peter's Square are outside the front courtyard! Beautiful experience staying here.

In my opinion, level of comfort, cleanliness and service was very good. The location at the Vatican was outstanding and the hotel was very quiet (no traffic noise). The room was a little smaller than I expected but had everything we needed. Breakfast and service were very good and there were no hidden extras on the bill. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace overlooking the Basilica.
