Description:
The Pantall Hotel has the charm of an 1888 hotel but has been completely remodeled. We tried to maintain as much history as we could on the first floor. Our back bar is from the 1880's. It is said that diamond merchants rolled their stones on the bar so the merchants could choose which they wanted to buy. We still have a diamond company in Pansy. Baths are beautiful and new. We have a reputation for cleanliness and then they add, "We love your beds." The furniture is much better than most hotels and really compliments the pastels in the drapes and spreads. All rooms are not the same: we use six different colors and prints on the windows and beds. All sheets and pillowcases are ironed. Usually the first comment from new customers is about cleanliness. Our staff is friendly, helpful as well as knowledgeable. We get many compliments on the housekeepers, waitresses, and clerks.Punxsutawney is a special place; we all help one another and welcome guests. We are just beside the town park, where many functions take place during the year. When there is not a function there, it is just a beautiful town park with benches and a bandstand. The municipal building with the library and zoo is just across the park. Thousands of little hands are placed on the large window that allows little ones to see the groundhogs housed there. You will find the town very friendly, helpful and talkative. Last summer the school was going to fill in the community outdoor pool as they built a new indoor one. A group of eight women, with the blessing of the boro, ran the pool and ended with much money left to start next season. That is typical of our town. You will love it!
