Great Bed and Breakfast. Wonderful Hostess! She was always so helpful. It was in a great location very close to the Dumo. For some the only draw back might be the stairs. We had to walk up 2 flights to our room and then one more flight to our bedroom, but we loved it. I would stay there again.

Panella's residence is true find for a traveller. Graziella Panella was warm and inviting and made us feel like we were part of her family. We emailed ahead and she made resevations for us at the Accademia and the Uffizi. When we arrived in Italy our bags were delayed in the States. It was a process to get the bags from Milan to Florence, Graziella told us to enjoy our vacation, she went above and making sure we received our luggage. She cooked fresh pastries for breakfast and made fruit salad. Her husband makes an excellent latte, espresso and cafe Americano. The room was quite and spacious and all the sites are within a 5-15 minute walk. I would recommend this hotel and stay there the next time I'm in Florence.

We thoroughly enjoyed Panella's Residence. The location was central to all the attractions and the rooms and service were wonderful. The only downside is the steep stairs, but the owner was very willing to provide assistance with luggage.

What a wonderful place to stay in Florence. We traveled with 3 older daughters and they enjoyed Panella's residence as much as we did. Great hostess...easy parking.....walk to everything....live the history of the building! You have to love walking up steps but if you can manage that okay then this is the perfect place to stay in Florence.

The warmth of the greeting and the level of hospitality in this small inn lift it well above the ranks of the usual bed and breakfasts in this part of Italy. The owners are very much in residence. The Panellas family have owned this town house for 7 generations. They are there to help at any point at which help is needed. Futhermore they even helped us with our bags--something we never encountered at other similar small inns. The rooms, while not large, are more than adequate, and are charmingly decorated. The inn is within a 5 minute walk of the Duomo and the heart of Rennaisance Florence. The Uffizi and the Acadenia were a short stroll away. We were able to walk everywhere. Breakfast were good and the special dietary requirements of one of our party were cheerfully accomodated.

Stayed in Florence for 3 days in October. Panella's was a great place to stay for the time we were there. The couple running the B&B were welcoming and helpful. The location is exceptional--close to the city highlights such as : Duomo, Uffizi and Accademia Gallery of Florence. Our room was spacious, very clean and made up everyday. The shower was larger than we expected. This was enough for my husband to enjoy his stay. He had been struggling with the shower sizes in the last couple of places we stayed in Rome and Siena. The breakfast was continental at best. The rest of the residence is quite clean and we hardly heard the other guests. Unfortunately, the temperature was way below average and heating was an issue. I don't think they are allowed to turn on the heat until November. Overall, Panella's Residence did exceed our standard.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Panella's. The location was perfect, near all the sites, yet off the beaten path enough to be quiet at night. The hosts were wonderful, chatted with me at breakfast, recomendations for restaurants were outstanding. The room was spotless, and comfortable. If they could get a safe for each room it would be nice too. Being in a residential area, there was a laundrymat nearby and a grocery store if you needed anything.

Traditional 15th century house on quiet backstreet, but within 3 minutes walk of Duomo and Art Academy. 10 minutes walk to Uffizi. This is a family run B&B and you will be made to feel part of the family. Ms. Panella is a delightful hostess, she speaks English and will look after you. Our room was an enormous suite and it was a long trek from the bed to the bathroom. Very nice breakfast in the old basement stable. You will have to haul suitcases up at least one long, steep flight of steps.

A real find in Florence with some of the largest rooms we have found. The owners Graziella and Guiseppe were always willing to advise and book tickets for the galleries and tours. Would highly recommend this one.We will definately be returning.

This is a great place to stay, and we would recommend it to anyone. Graziella was very friendly and accomodating. She served breakfast early when we had an early appointment. Breakfast was great, including rolls and cakes made by her mother.

Excellent accommodation-very comfortable, very clean and plenty of room. The Panellas were very welcoming and helpful. We would stay there again. The only minus was that the shower was a bit erratic-water not always very hot or plentiful.

What an outstanding stay! We were graciously welcomed by Graziella and Giuseppe, who doted on us the entire trip. The only comment is that the website is not correct about the distance to the train station. It says 500 meters, and it's more like 1500--not too bad, until we decided to walk with all our luggage. All in all, I would highly recommend Panella's, and we will most certainly stay there again when we inevitably return to Firenze.

Graziella and Giuseppe are the inn keepers. They are very nice. Graziella speaks fair English, Giuseppe very little. They always make themselves present when a new guest arrives and extend a warm welcome. The home(inn) is over 500 years old and used to be a convent. The rooms are spacious by European standards, however, just average by American standards. It is just three blocks from the Duomo, five or six blocks to the Accademia (Statue of David. Dispite the noise on the street the room was very quite. The breakfast consisted of a cup of yogart and a slice of cake. I carried in my own granola. Florence is perhaps 20 by 20 blocks. You can walk from any location to the historical sites within 15 minutes. There really is no need to pay a premium price to be a few blocks from the Duomo. Shop around. I did not. I'm uncertain of other hotel rates but I'll be more savvy next time and consider staying a few more blocks away. We paid 160 Euros/night (about $215/night) Yes, I would go back to Panella's Inn if the other options were similarly priced.

What a wonderful place. Graziella & Giuseppe Panella could not have been more welcoming and helpful throughout our 5 night stay in Florence. They were so accomodating, Graziella even had telephone conversations with Italian friends of ours to be sure we were all set. We stayed in the 2 level suite (be sure you don't mind lots of stairs!) which was more than we ever needed but quite nice. Good sized bathroom, clean, super location. Would definitely stay here again.

This place was a real find! We are a couple in our early forties from California. We wanted to stay in Firenze and be close to all the sights, but have a quiet, comfortable, charming place as our home base. The location was excellent to see all the sights of Firenze. Just two blocks from the Duomo, half a block from the Symphony, one block from an internet cafe and a laundromat. Easy walking distance to the Uffuzi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, Boboli Gardens, etc. The place is very clean and in a quiet part of town. It is very old and has been beautifully converted into modern apartments while keeping all of its old world ambiance and charm. Graziella and Giuseppe Panella are a wonderful couple and were very helpful for us when we needed "concierge" help with bus arrangements or a suggestion for a nice restaurant, etc.. We stayed in Room 41, the one with the huge bathroom. It was perfect: quiet, comfortable bed, lots of hot water, little refrigerator, huge closet, and nicely furnished with special antiques. Breakfast was yummy and filling. We would definately stay here again.
