The staff was wonderful. Downtown San Francisco traffic is a pain.

Location was perfect. Transporation right outside the door. However, many attractions like...... Chinatown, The Ferry Building (you have to see that place), Union Square are within walking distanceHotel is in the middle of a major shopping area so a bit busy on the weekends. Also, very near the Tenderloin, an area to avoid especially at night.Front desk & doormen were extremely helpful. Room was clean & loved the robes.Great resturant right down the street....Annabellas. Another place located around the corner...The Jazz Bistro ..should be avoided unless you like poor service, poor food & poor jazz.

The location was great & staff was pleasant. My room smelled & there was no ventilation to rid the smell. Overall this was a decent hotel, definitely not 4 star. The location was fantastic. The decor was animal print everywhere, including the guest robes provided and the carpet pattern. (Overkill to me) Bedding was comfortable, parking the car was $51.30 per night (on Mon & Tues night) which I thought was a little high for the area & given the fact we were hotel guests. Our view was an empty office building (not a big issue for us, although we were on the top floor of the hotel so those below us had it worse). My biggest issue was the room smelled like cigarettes and there was no way to rid the room of the smell. There was Plexiglas screwed into the wall covering the window so we could not open the window to try, get fresh air, the AC intake was in the closet so we had to keep that door open our entire stay to try and have better air movement. The Plexiglas was clear, but it did impede what little view of San Francisco's architecture we could see. I would not consider this property 4 star, maybe a 2.5 to 3 star.

The Palomar exemplifies luxury and comfort. I normally don't sleep well while traveling, but the bed and linens at the Palomar were exceptionally comfortable and I slept great while there. The staff has extremely helpful and courteous and the location was great. The Palomar is on the high-end as far as price, but well worth it.

Good location, room and friendly staffs. However I did not get my reserved double room until the next day; it caused some inconvenience to my schedule.

Location was excellent to access many SF sights. Connecting room had no sound buffer, could hear neighbors clearly. A fantastic location convenient to shopping, transit (incl BART), cable cars, food, just about everything you could need in downtown San Francisco. In the basic room we received, the bathroom is about 2 feet from the bed. With only a thin pocket door, it can be a bit too close for comfort when rooming with another traveler.

Great location right off Market Street. Staff was friendly and helpful. The work out room was small, but good equipment. The rooms was very nice with a wonderful bed. The chair next to the bed was good for sitting in with laptop, but could've used an ottoman. Free wireless access is a really nice touch. The decor is hip and modern but still very welcoming and comfortable. Went to the restaurant for business breakfast. Kept with the fun decor with zebra strips but again, still a warm feel. Good variety on food selection and it was delicous. I'm a big Kimpton fan with the nice amenities, great decor, but boutique feel. This was no exception.

Palomar is right in the heart of Market street and just blocks of fancy shopping and restaurants. Westfield Mall is next door and quite nice. We love the free wine reception and friendly staff. Hotel restaurant was nice but EXPENSIVE, especially for breakfast. There are tons of bistros, cafes, and local restaurants like "mel's diner", one block away, where you can get breakfast.

I like the location, the friendly staff and the quiet room. I tried to check in early. Beautiful hotel with great rooms and a great location.

The location is 5 star for shopping, transportation, museums and upscale dining. We upgraded to a ""suite"" or living space w/a pullout sofa. The mattress on the sofa was better than that on the king bed. The staff is quite efficient and eager to please. We didn't receive newspapers for 2 days, but once mentioned, it was rectified. The room service menu (all day dining) could use more variety but service again was quick. The hotel surpasses the other big chains nearby and with better rates!

The location was wonderful. We could walk to most locations. The Hotel resturant was the best ever. The staff was very nice...not the best at giving directions, but we did find some great lunch spots in the process.

Great location. Small gym facilities, no pool. Very clean, centrally located and QUIET. Maids were even quiet and didn't bug us even we left right at checkout time.

The service was outstanding at every level whether the valet, the maids, and the front desk attendants. The kindness feels genuine. Great place!

Nice place, great location, staff wasterrific. So called included wireless internet required discussing with the desk. Really enjoyed this place. Was a bit frustrated with the wireless internet deal. When you connected it forced you to sign up for a membership even though said it was included. The invitation for the wine happy hour was vague. Was free which is very nice but needs to be more direct.

"I was so disappointed when I walked into the room-it was so small for a king ""deluxe"". All the room featured was a bed, with nothing else-so it was really cramped!! The bathroom was right by the bed, so there was no privacy-how romantic!! The view was of the top of Old Navy, so there was nothing to look out to."

We were happy to return tot he Palomar Hotel in San Fran. Despite the horrible weather we had, the city needed rain and the staff and amenities were very good. I hope to go back in the summer!

great friendly, attentive staff odd business center rules, hard to get a taxi at that particular spot. great hotel for a great price in a great location. small, boutique hotel with friendly, attentive staff. steps away from union square shopping, 10 minute walk to the embarcadero and easy BART access. clean rooms and comfortable beds. though this doesn't have the massive amenities of a large-scale hotel, the personal service and quiet atmosphere more than makes up for it.
