| The hotel Palmeraie in its own way offers a unique chance to get out of the city or clubbing "life". For those of us needing a break or a form of relaxation, the Palmeraie is perfect. The hotel is secluded and is the only hotel located on that particular strip of beach. The beach itself is unspoilt by the effects of uncontrolled strip development which is unique as the effects of strip development have resulted in places like Pattaya or Phuket to be overdeveloped with clubs and hotels. The Palmeraie still retains signs of what Thailand would have been like thirty years ago. The hotel rooms are old but in excellent condition. Has internet room service, tabletop games, bikes for daily rent, regular transport to Rayong, two swimming pools, a small shop for swimming equipment, massage parlor, tennis court and a nice bar to sit and relax. Breakfast can be questioned since Thai's certainly don't mind the Thai or Western options but westerners may find the breakfast a little to their dissatisfaction in terms of variety otherwise very good. Lunch and dinner good.
As mentioned in many previous reviews by other people, the staff are wonderful and helpful to anything you might need. As a result of many positive aspects of this hotel, I will most certainly consider going back there next summer for some days.
I wouldn't recommend staying there for long (maybe fours days to seven perhaps a little longer) as the isolation and transport time to and from Rayong gets to you after a while. |
