The room service food was great! The sleeping quarters were the size of my bathroom at home.

We had a room on the 10 floor. The room was small compared to the other hotel we stayed in during the week of our vacation the week of april 6th. The room was recently remodeled and well decorated with large and fancy looking furniture and ammenities. The water got hot when we wanted it to. the toilet needed adjustment but worked. The tv and cable was outdated but was free. The 15$ internet charge seemed excessive. our cell phones did not work in our room. The only real negative thing was the noise level from other rooms above. It seems like they skimped on the ceiling insulation for the remodel. The drinks were expensive and all strait yummy booze. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We explored the hotel and loved the grand ballrooms and decor. We were warmly welcome like royalty everytime we entered the main doors. Yes, We would stay there again. we had a great rate for the three days we were there

Best place in Chicago for the money. However, we were disappointed that there was no in-room mini-bar or coffee available. Also, the pool was closed due to renovation and the kids were not able to swim. We would stay again, however, the family opted to vote for another hotel next time around.

This was our 2nd stay here. Overall it is a great value. The rooms are refurbished and updated. The location is very convenient for travel throughout the city. Everything is within walking distance. We would stay here again.

Great location and beautiful/historic lobby area. There were no rooms other than a queen size bed available so we had our son sleep on the ground and called it camping.

We stayed at the Palmer House for our anniversary and stayed on the executive floors. Our room was beautiful and comfortable, and we enjoyed the evening hors d'oeuvres and morning coffee bar/continental breakfast were great. For the extra money, the experience is worth it. I was really amazed at how clean this hotel is. We walked everywhere and the location of the hotel was close to everything. I don't usually bother writing reviews but decided on my flight home to get online and recommend this hotel, particularly if you are going to Chicago for fun. There is wi-fi on the corner bakery next to the hotel, if you don't want to pay the hotel fee for internet access.

My husband and I are historical architecture buffs, so we were apprehensive about taking our two young children to the Palmer House Hilton. We were afraid it would be too old-fashioned for kids and we'd read many bad reviews about the hotel's service. We decided to persist with our plans since we'd already made our reservations based on the hotel's history and locality. We were ELATED by the service, location, amenities, and grandeur of the hotel. Our room was ready at 9:00 am (as frequent travelers, we know that's almost unheard of) upon our arrival and the service desk associates and concierge were exceedingly helpful and courteous. The lobby was breathtaking; with many dining and entertaining options (we didn't partake of these facilities with two young children, but multiple business conventions, salsa dancing, and a huge wedding were taking place in the ballrooms while we were there). The rooms were large and luxurious, although the "queen" beds seemed like full-sized beds. The linens and comforters were plush and I had the best night's sleep ever! The bathrooms, although small, were tiled and had a deep tub and strong water pressure in the shower. We received Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries and abundant towels each day. The attention to detail was incredible, even the door knobs and elevators were elaborate! Although construction and conventions were happening, the hotel was quiet and restful. My only regret was the pool was closed for renovation. I can't wait to return to the Palmer House again.

The room was nice and clean. Check out and valet service were the biggest issues. The computer system went down on the morning of check out, and the staff member at the front desk couldn't print out the final receipt for verification. We eventually received this information via e-mail, but it was annoying. The valet service is too expensive ($51/day) especially with self-parking down the street for $36/day. There was a lot of noise with firetrucks, ambulances, police cars, and traffic, but what can you expect during Fourth of July weekend in Chicago. Overall though, the hotel is nice, beautiful lobby decor, great location, and helpful staff (particularly during check-in). The downtown hotels seem to nickel-and-dime customers on most amenities (i.e., Internet, fitness center, etc.), which adds to the final cost of your hotel stay.

Quite a nice hotel considering we paid under * a night. The only complaints we had was that there was no coffeee maker in the room ( they charge and arm and a leg to send a pot up via room service) and a corner of the wall paper was peeling off. The bar was great and the hotel was in walking distant to a lot of attractions. I would stay here again.

It was good. Rush and Division need to cab to. Pay-per-view not working. Baggage claim guy got bags for us and stood there expecting tip which I think is rude. Other than that it was good. Wish executive level meant more executive. Doesnt give you a whole lot more.

The amazing facilities and excellent service. Nothing! This hotel is a crown jewel of Chicago hospitality, and was an excellent value for the price. My new husband and I stayed there as part of our honeymoon and could not have been any happier with the excellent service, the beauty, comfort of the lobby, the guest room and the convenient location.

this hotel is amazing. the architecture was incredible. the people from the doorman (who was standing in below zero weather) to the concierge were so nice and accomodating. the location of the hotel was perfect for shows, shopping, culture and resturants. most all of our needs were within walking distance or a short cab ride. peoole in the hotel knew the answers to our questions and were very knowledgeable abot the area and the city. i would go back in a heartbeat ( hopefully they won't be having record breaking freezing temperattures again). there is even a starbucks in the lobby.
