Via Medina 21/22 Naples, Italy
|
| Immersed in the heart of Naples' historic centre lies the Palazzo Turchini Hotel, a shining symbol of Parthenopean pietas and of the intense musical life of seventeenth and eighteenth-century Naples. The property enjoys a superb position near the Fountain of Neptune in the centrally located via Medina, within metres of the city-harbour, the underground and several of the city's most important historic and artistic attractions. Set between Palazzo Genzano and the Incoronatella Church (better known as Santa Maria della Pietà dei Turchini), the building once formed part of the Royal Conservatory of Pietà dei Turchini, providing shelter for abandoned children and quickly becoming a veritable mine of musicians and singers who made Naples a place of extraordinary cultural ferment. Originally built in 1590 and continuously renovated throughout the years, these days the hotel offers its guests a warm and elegant atmosphere decorated in precious marbles and delightful traditional furniture. It features a splendid roof garden with terrific views, meeting facilities and a charming cafè. |

Description:
The Petit Palace San Bernardo hotel is placed in the Plaza Santo A nice and refined atmosphere is what Palazzo Turchini?s guests encounter since their entrance in the hall, where the floor is made of precious golden Calacatta marbles, and which is furnished very traditionally. A beautiful internal garden, in the heart of the building, is located behind the reception, where one can find high qualified personnel. From the hall one can reach a comfortable and reserved bar, with soft music. The twenty-seven rooms, with warm and relaxing colors ? three of them have a little private terrace ? are characterized by the different exposure. Some of them look into the internal garden, some other rooms have a view on the typical loggias and domes of the city, from other ones one can admire the Vesuvius. The Fountain of Neptune, of XVIIth century, the Church of Incoronata, the gardens of the Royal Palace, the high towers of castle Maschio Angioino, the parvis of San Giorgio dei Genovesi are the unique scenario that one can admire from the eight rooms of the external facade. There are also rooms available for a multifunctional use, with tables and work equipment. On the first and on the highest floor one can use a little room for exhibitions and also a little meeting room for a limited number of people. On the Hotel?s roof a bright and wide terrace with some tables offers to our guests the possibility to spend pleasant moments of relax in a magic and exclusive frame. Comfortable and elegant room, with classical design and bright tapestry; it has whether a little balcony viewing the Naples? Royal Palace, the Church of the Incoronata and the Neptune Fountain or a window over the winter garden. This kind of room, which is equipped with the most modern comforts, addresses itself to the ?budget oriented? customers (both business and leisure), who like to enjoy all what a 4 Stars Luxury Hotel can offer to them

| The outside photograph does not look like the current entrance which is more modern with automatic doors, and not quite as antique as the photo portrays. The photograph of the double room is more or less accurate, although my room did not have a table and chairs. The main factor that let this hotel down was the lack of air-conditioning which was broken down! The breakfast was a little sparse. The staff are friendly and helpful, providing local information and maps. |
