The hotel is in a fantastic location. You can practically touch the Duomo from the Balcony. Everything within walking distance - very convenient. Has everything you need to self cater if you want. Only downside was that the bathrooms are a bit dated - few loose tiles etc and it can be a bit noisy at night. The children slept through it but the adults needed earplugs! Those Italians love their sirens.....

The apartment was in an excellent location, the staff was great but not on-site full-time. The 2 significant drawbacks were the room did not smell clean because the bathroom shower curtain was old and mildew-scented and the sofa looked old with pen ink stains on it, and also the noise of traffic below was sometimes disruptive but with the a/c blowing, the noises outside were minimal. Overall, the location was good enough (directly next to the Duomo) that the stay was good.

If you want location, this is it! I chose a room without view, and was still very satisfied. The hotel is right in the center of Florence. I have already booked another reservation at Palazzo Gamba.

Great location. Fantastic view of Il Duomo within a stone's throw. Our apartment was on the 5th floor, so we didn't notice the noice as much as previous reviewers. No internet service, but we found an internet cafe 2 blocks away. Train station was 10 minute walk.

This accomodation was within walking distance of the train station. We arrived after midday and were greeted by the reception. The location is AMAZING! THe duomo is situated right outside our bedroom windows! a spectacular view, but don't worry, the bells stop ringing at about 9pm til 6 or 7 am so it doesn't disturb our sleep! nothing is too far from this accomodation! leather market, fresh food market, etc! definately will stay there again!

I lived and worked in Florence 30 years ago. This was my first visit since, to meet old friends. The receptionist was rather cold and not in the least friendly. She mentioned straight away that we should pay before 7.30 the next night and leave by 10am(they charge you an extra day i.e.€180 if you are late out.The apartment was v.spacious and you could see the Duomo from the window.Negatives:lots of mosquitos(in mid Oct),impersonal(they give you a key as there's often no one at reception and its quite heavy to carry round)and mean service for the price. We got 1 bath towel each and if you want another within 4 days, you pay €10!.Finally, you need to walk away from here to eat/drink-as in all cities, the centre is a rip-off.We left here to go to Hotel Globus in San Lorenzo.Paid €120 per night for lovely, friendly, helpful service. It restored my faith in the Florence I remembered.

A wonderful stay - being restricted by fussy children we could eat what they wanted to eat (!) and once they were asleep, we could watch Florentine life in the Duomo square all evening. We were having a swift weekend break (Fri-Sun) and the hotel was convenient enough that we could go back to the hotel to use the bathroom! The rooms were a good size and beautifully decorated. Splendid.

We were 100% impressed by the whole accomodation, it was just as we expected from the information on the web -we found the customer reviews particularly helpful. The apartment -2 bed for 4 people was extemely clean and well equiped. It was compact but gave us all we needed for a family sight seeing holiday in Florence. The gentleman on the desk was incredibly helpful and spoke excellent English, he was able to accomodate our changed accomodation needs following a delay in our flight. We were able to leave our suitcases in reception after checking out of our room -saving us lugging them around with us all day as we had a late flight home. We were not bothered by the noise mentioned by others and loved being so close to the Duoma, although as it was late in the season and we didn't need the windows open at night. We would happily recommend Palazzo Gambo.

Excellent location; couldn't get any better. However could be quite noisy at night. Basic kitchen facilities are brilliant should you want to stay in and cook a meal with the excellent local produce. (Proximity to Mercato Centrale is nothing) Get Cristiano to give you recommendations for restaurants

The apartment was unexpectedly very spacious. Very quiet even if it is located in a busy area within the city. It is just across the street from the Duomo. It is an apartment with a fully equipped kitchen. The only problem is the shower room which is only about 1 square meter in space.

The location of this hotel cannot be beat. You can practically touch the Duomo from your window, and almost every other tourist destination in Florence is a 5-10 minute walk away at most. Cristiano at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful. He even helped change our reservation when our plans changed, which we really appreciated. The young woman who worked the desk on Cristiano's days off was not as friendly or helpful, so there was a difference in level of service depending on the day. Having an apartment was nice. We didn't cook a lot (two burners didn't work anyway) but we bought breakfast foods and beverages and snacks to save a bit of cash. Our only major complaint was that the photographs showed apartments that were much prettier and brighter than the apartment we got (Verocchio). Ours was a bit dingy and smelled like stale cigarettes, so that was a disappointment. Since there are only a few apartments anyway, I think they should have pictures of each one so you know what you're getting for the price. I think other apartments were probably a better value for the steep price (although I understand location was a big factor). Ours was also very loud from street noise. There are tons of people walking around day and night, and we had to keep the windows open due to the cigarette smell, so it's a good thing we are heavy sleepers. That said, I would stay there again, but would request a different room.

We, my husband, adult daughter and her boyfriend, like to be in the middle of things. People-watching in the Duomo Square from our 2nd floor balcony was a treat! We could practically touch the Duomo and loved the bells. It is not a quiet location, but with the shutters and dual pane BEAUTIFUL floor to ceiling windows closed, the noise was not an issue. If you are super-sensitive ear plugs would do the trick. The 2nd floor has mostly 2 bedrooms, one 1 bedroom I believe. We didn't venture to the higher floors, but from the outside you could see they did not have the same gorgeous windows that we enjoyed. The staff, the location, the character and the amenities were all superb and made our first stop in Italy unforgettable. PS. Florence is very crowded and very expensive. Good meals were found at bettre prices in the Oltarno. A great salad Rustica at an outdorr tourist haunt on the right side of Santa Croce sq. That was one of our best meals in Italy.

Being centrally located was nice, but it was so loud at night and that made it difficult to sleep.

One of the best locations, value and spaciousness we've ever stayed in in Venice. I'm amazed they EVER have rooms. The two bedroom unit had balconies on 2 sides..."spitting" distance from the Duomo. We much have had a hundred tourists take our pictures while we sat on the balcony admiring the view (hard to photograph the Dumo from the south without including the balcony!) GREAT deal...GREATER choice!!
