Palace hotel was awesome. Beautiful....regal.....spotless....luxurious....Staff couldn't do enough for us. Brunch was to die for. Great location on Market Street.....should be a ten star if there ever was such a rating!!!

The room was great, price was more than reasonable. Maxfields was wonderful as well. You couldn't ask for a better location!

Awesome lobby, small but beautiful rooms, and a great location. Wonderfully friendly and attentive staff made the stay at this 100-year old hotel a dream. The small size of the room is easily offset by the luxury of the accommodations: amazingly high ceilings, a large flat-screen TV, and a marble counter in the bathroom. This was the best anniversary trip my wife and I have ever taken.

The hotel was Elegant, convenient, had a fabulous lobby, the 7th floor room was spacious yet quiet overlooking Montgomery Street. The linens were clean and starched and the pillows down. The resturant and lobby looked like the Plaza in New York City. The bar was a hot spot on Friday evening. Located on Market Street it is so convenient to Union Square and Chinatown. An easy 10 minute walk to the Ferry Building and Museum of Modern Art is two blocks away. The only problem, I had to leave very early on Saturday morning, and the cab doorman insisted I get into a cab even though I had ordered a shuttle. He was representing the hotel, but not wearing a uniform. Very bad form. The shuttle pulled up before my bags were loaded in the cab. The cab would have been twice the cost of the shuttle. I also asked for a wake-up call and never received one even though I was taking the 4:40 shuttle to SFO. However I loved this place and would definitely stay again. I felt very safe, even as a single person, and was a good value for San Francisco.

The lobby is absolutely gorgeous and the Garden Court is break taking with its high ceiling and chandeliers. The bedroom was contemporary, cozy, and very spacious for two individuals. The bed and linens were incredibly comfortable. The bathroom was well appointed with amenities. Turn down service is done every night. Housekeeping followed through with every request and was very prompt. The concierge staff was knowledgeable about the surrounding areas and gave great walking directions. A friend recommended this hotel. I work in one of the most luxurious hotels in Las Vegas and have very high expectations when staying at other hotels. I felt that the value of the product vs. price at the Palace Hotel was remarkable. I will definitely re-visit this hotel again and will recommend it to anyone.

Great hotel and would stay there again for sure. Only issue was that the hot tub and sauna were not working and charging for 800 toll free numbers is hard to understand. Everything else was great.

The main courtyard near the reception area is breathtaking. Most of the hotel has an elegant, historic feel. The restaurant and bar down the hall from the courtyard look like they're from a bygone area as well. There is a BART station just outside the hotel, and there are many trams and busses on Market Street. You can walk to many restaurants and shops, and even the Ferry Building. Room was nice, albeit a bit small (at least in cmoparison with the Biltmore in L.A., where we had stayed the night before).

I enjoyed the hotel for its beauty, comfort, and art! The Maxfield Parrish painting in the restaurant is museum quality. The breakfast is amazing and the pool and saura were a blessing. I would recommend it for the overall experience.

Tried to check in early with my handicapped father. They put us in a King Bed and mentioned they would be able to move to another room after 4. I kept calling inidicating the bed configuration was not acceptable. The were not able to change our room to two double beds. Requested a rollaway, but was told due to the fire hazard rules, none were available in our king bed room. Due to the over promise and underdelivery of our needed room type, I ended up sleeping (any paying for another room at the Westin)They were able to give us a double bed on our second night but with a slight attitude. We checked out the next day, and found out they double billed me for the 2 night room. For the past 10 years, My family and I have stay at the palace. We don't even look at other hotels. However after this trip, It's time to start checking out other Hotels for a smoother stay.

Beautiful central atrium (stained glass ceiling). My non-smoking room smelled like someone smoked previously.

Grand old property with modernized facilities and friendly service, the Palace competes even with hotels in a much higher price range. Basic King-bed guest rooms are smallish, but well furnished and sufficient. Room amenities include refrigerator, hair dryer, ironing board/iron, terry robes, safe, cable TV, internet capability. Pool and fitness center are clean and well-maintained, open 5:00am to 10:00pm (6:00am weekends).Front desk and Concierge were helpful, but can get busy at times. One night, the concierge mistakenly told me I didn't have to worry about advance tickets to a show I'd wanted to see, only to find it sold out later. However, the next day, the concierge recommended a delightful show I never would have known about otherwise. Location is central and right near all public transit. They were very accommodating with late check-out and baggage check. Doorman was always ready to offer a kind greeting, open the door, or flag a cab.

First time to Frisco and had a great time. Took us a while to get our barings, but once we found our way around; we found we were close to everything!

The history, the architecture, the beautiful courtyard and the location. I did not like having to go down to the lobby for the free internet service. A beautiful hotel with an interesting history and great location. Just several blocks away from all the major shops/restaurants. The Montgomery Station BART/MUNI just steps away, no need for a car. I would definitely stay at the Palace again.
