Close to the beach. Hotel had a tiny shower and no bath tub. Location was great but the hotel was old and needed a little work.

This hotel is the worst that there could be No Ac are any type of air so how are you suppose to stay cool in the summer time after coming back for the sun, than to top it off they are real quick to rent the room w/o telling you this the restroom floors were slipery stains all over with hair in the bath tube when i hadnt even showed yet. I ask kindly for a fan because of the fact that it was so hot and i was pregnant at the time and with a rude comment no we dont offer any. I ended up having 25 bites of misktios because it was so hot and stufy i had to leave the windows open which made it worst because all the sound of the traffic passing by was so loud- people-cars-buses- Everything... I wouldd never stay there again and i hope others either...

If you don't mind sleeping in a clean but scary old room this is the place.

Well situated. Odor, cleanliness, bed bug reputation. Internet service, pay for parking.

WOW! Never again. Grabbed this at spur of the moment without looking at pictures or reviews. Reminded me of the Norman Bates motel ! The guy at the front desk was rude. The room had a a very old smell to it. The shower was too ugly and scary to use even if we had shower shoes we wouldn't use it. This looked like something that should have been on skid row not on the Santa Monica coast ! Tried to get our money back, but guy at the desk wouldn't hear of any such thing! I don't know why the travel website would even advertise this motel. Bad advertising to say the least. DO NOT STAY AT THIS MOTEL !!! If your used the nicer 3 diamond motels this is not for you.

This was the worst motel/hotel I have ever stayed at. I can be very easy to please but I can not think of anything good to say about this place. I should have listened to the other reviews. The location is fantastic. It did have a city permit request out front for a major remodel. I hope it includes a tear down. I recommend that you only stay here as a last resort but beware. I think I may have even picked up bed bugs from this dive. Warning.

Fantastic location across from Santa Monica Pier. Shower was not up to my expectations. The rooms are outdated, but I was expecting that. I only needed it for one night and it served my needs perfectly.

Front desk was awfull, when I checked in, they wanted my credit card to charge me for the room, I had to argue for 15 minutes before the clerk figured out that my room was paid for. If it wasn't I would have left in a hartbeat. When I walked in the room, It made me have chills. there was no alarm clock, no closet, the room was built in the sixties and it still looks that way, the only modern thing was the 19 inch zenith tv. the bathroom was scarry, we left without using the shower for fear of the condition of it. I would not recommend this to any one, not even my enemies. If you plan to stay here, save your money sleep in your car.

The Pacific Sands Motel is a low-key, low budget motel. The rooms are clean and comfortable but basic, no frills at all. These factors are mitigated by the great location, just across form the Santa Monica Pier, and only a couple of blocks from shopping, restaurants etc. It is an easy walk to the bus which runs to LAX every fifteen minutes.

Awesome location to Santa Monica Pier and Third Street Promenade and the beach. The decor has not been updated since 1966, but what you expect for super cheap.

* dollars a night and no air conditioning, no safe in room, no fridge, poor lock on door, towels the size of hadkerchiefs!!

Pacific Sands hotel is located just off from the Santa Monica Pier, within easy walking distance of both there, the promenade and many local coffee shops and eateries. While the location is perfect, the place is a dive, which could use a complete overhaul. The room was clean enough though, and the facilities worked. The place is overpriced. You are only paying for clean sheets (I think) and the location. The free wireless internet in each room was very handy though if you have a wireless laptop and are traveling the area with the need for information like maps.

Location was perfect. Very old beds. Back hurt in the morning. Location good. Staff very nice. Facility old and no frills.

This looks like an hourly motel and not a hotel off of classy Santa Monica. Right when we opened the door of the room came a foul smell from the inside. The beddings look like they have never been washed and dark stains are crusted on the sheets and mattress. The customer service was so horrible that when we asked for our money back because we want to cancel, the receptionist told us "You're only staying here because you cannot afford a nicer hotel". When we asked to speak to a supervisor, the receptionist kept on saying that the manager is not available. What a horrible experience and a horrible place!

Pacific Sands Motel is just plain old, totally outdated, unclean. Should have been remodeled years ago. Floors very dirty. Inadequate locks, security. Tiny shower with old, old fixtures. Inadequate lighting. Most parking is down a dark alley with no security. Only positive is its excellent location. Would not stay there again or recommend to a friend.

To check in they wanted $7.00 per night for parking. The room had decor from the 70s that has not been maintaned or repaired. The requist was for a king bed not two qweens. The bath room floor and shower tile has mold and algae. The carpet is dirty and can not walk on it bare foot. The wall heater was old and very slow. The second night we returned from diner about 8:30 pm to find we had not power in the room. They call the maintance person to find the problem. After coming in to the room every 15-20 min. the power returned at 12:10 am. On check out the same manager did not even apologize.

Let me start by saying that the hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The hotel was clean, but it needs to be updated. The curtains were old and falling off of the hooks. The windows rattled every time a bus went by which started at about 5:30 AM. We had the room facing the street. I would recommend a room not on the main street, for it was very loud. Overall, the room was very big and comfortable. It is right across the street from Santa Monica Pier and beach. It is a perfect motel for the budget conscious family who does not spend much time in their room. I would most definitely stay there again.

At best this is a one star hotel, years over due for a remodel. One lamp did not work, missmatched old chairs, old carpet, ill faded paint, pool has huge stains, bathroom mirror wasn't bolted in, thin walls, no ironing board, the room looked like a crack den out of a movie. The only good thing is the location.
