Great place to stay, close to the city centre. The older rooms need to be updated somewhat, the bathrooms tiles need re –doing. Room was clean. Service always good, staff are pleasant and attentive.

A very relaxing stay in a perfect settingThe hotel is ideally located on the outskirts of Oxford, 15 minutes walk from the city centre. The river is at the back of the hotel and provides a very relaxing setting, as well as a pleasant walk into Oxford. The hotel itself has very clean and comfortable rooms and the staff are very courteous. The leisure facilities are good, a small gym, swimming pool with jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. We didn't eat at the hotel as there are so many excellent restaurants in Oxford itself. However, I have eaten here before and found the food to be very good, if a little expensive.I would recommend the hotel to others looking for a relaxing weekend in Oxford.

Our room was terribly hot and stuffy. If ever a room needed air con this was it. The curtains were very thin and the light streamed through waking our child very early. We'd just got back to sleep when room service banged on our door at 6am - they'd got the wrong room.

We were only in Oxford for 1 night so didn't have the chance to use all the hotel facilities. Very clean, comfortable and modern. Excellent location with a lovely river walk into town. Attractive patio area. Car parking a big bonus. Will definitely stay there again when next in Oxford.

friendly staff, but AA guide needs to review star system! We had a nice stay in this hotel, only for one night and we cant really comment on food. We paid £79gbp for one night, and although our stay was comfortable the room as a four star hotel, did leave a little to be desired! Old fashioned, and not really worth £79 for one night, but comfortable and clean, and the staff seemed nice.

a very enjoyable staythe hotel was well run, spotlessly clean and ideally situated for a pleasant riverside walk into Oxford. The only criticism was the lack of air conditioning as the rooms were very warm.

Overall a pretty good hotel. Staff were friendly.Weather was warm and so was the room due to no air-conditioning.No mini-bar or fridge in room. Advertised as as Wi-Fi but then charge of £6 a day.

Needs a 'brush-up'Ok (ish) hotel, good parking, but like all cheaper mid market hotels, could do with a spruce up to keep it fresh. Breakfast was a strange affair, I was directed to sit next to someone who was literally choking to death on a piece of egg - most unpleasent!Overall - nothing special

Good valueA very comfortable, clean hotel in walking distance from Oxford Centre.Very good value. Also sells real ale - a rarity in larger hotels these days.Would definitely stay again.

Bog Standard AccomodationThe hotel was quite adequate for a weekend break, however, we found it to be quite expensive for what you got.

Overnight at Oxford SpiresA good hotel with free parking just 20mins walk from Oxford town centre along the Thames, weather permitting. Hotel service is excellent and good choice of rooms available. The standard double en suite was perfectly big enough and well equiped, although mobile phone reception was non existent.

Easy to find, lots of parking available. Shame didn't have time to use leisure facilities as they looked good. Had to eat out as cost of food too expensive, especially room service.

This hotel is well worth using when you visit Oxford. It is in a superb location with a lovely 20 minute walk next to the river into Oxford and free parking - a huge benefit in Oxford. The hotel is well appointed and modern and the standard room and en suite were fine although a bit dusty around the edges which pulled down the score on cleanliness. Breakfast is fine - the usual and expected good self service selection. We didn't stay for any other meal so can't comment. We got a good deal through Late Rooms.com so it was vg value for money. Would recommend and stay again.

Good LocationGood location, ample car parking, good quality accomation. I did not try the food as I was already dinning out in the evening and I thoght the price of breakfast was to much to pay. I also found the drinks expensive at £3.80p for a pint off bitter!

Summer in the city! The wonderful city of Oxford has only one drawback and that is parking. The fact that this hotel had parking and was in easy walking distance of the city was the main reason we stayed here initially. As it turned out this was perfect - we are not great walkers but the pleasant stroll into the city along the river really enhanced the trip, especially when in the knowledge we were not having to pay about £5 an hour for parking as we would at other city centre hotels! In addition to the parking though, the hotel is excellent and this is what will bring us back. I do a lot of travel for business, staying in good quality hotels and the standard of the room certainly did not disappoint - very clean with pleasant decoration, good amount of space and an ideal level of information. The staff (and other guests) were friendly, helpful and relaxed which also helped us enjoy our two days away from the children.

The Spa Makes This HotelHotel over all is pretty ok. I wouldn't say exceptional, and if we hadn't booked through laterooms and gotten an excellent deal, I don't think I would reccommend anyone to pay over the £120 we did for the one night. Our room was ok, a very large bed, sofa, tv, all of the usual things, but nothing out of the ordinary. Some of the wallpaper was looking fairy old, a lamp didn't work, the loo didn't flush right every time, the small things that should make a one night stay in a 'luxury' hotel were not up to par. The bar was ok, again, nothing special, but open late enough to have after dinner drinks. We didn't try the food, but the prices were very high, so we ventured in to Oxford in the evening and the morning and had some great food. We did venture in to the spa, which is the best thing about the hotel. The pool is lovely and clean, with a jaccuzzi, sauna and steam room you can use. It is very clean and the staff in the spa are much much friendlier than in the hotel. The staff in the hotel are fine, nothing about them stands out to any other hotel. One of the duty managers was slightly rude but nothing worth complaining about. To be honst, I feel this hotel is for the slightly older generation. I would have rather spent time in a personalised hotel or B&B and received some quality service with a better calibre of rooms than paid a lot of money for a fancy looking hotel with nothing special about it.

Average, dated, when will it be refurbished?I was disappointed. The feel of the hotel is 1980's not 2010. My room had chips in the bath enamel, but was generally clean and ok, internet to the room is chargeable, showing a detachment from reality for me, it should be free. The room rates should command an up to date interior, and facilities. The hotels design and signage in the corridors is hopeless and requires long and convoluted routes to get from a room to reception. The hotel restuarant food and service were barely acceptable, the food prices were way out of proportion to the quality, and we were given 25% off vouchers for the restaurant, almost a statement in itself that the food is overpriced!Reception attention to detail is poor, we ordered a taxi, after 40 minutes and chasing we gave up and walked out, no-one owned this.I won't be staying here again. A sad reflection that Oxford has too few hotel beds causing high prices and this hotel is complacent. I spoke with others who reflected a similar experience.
