It was very nice that they offered a courtesy suite to us to use after we had checked out. We had taken a day cruise with snorkeling and needed showers before the airport.

This is not a hotel. We do not consider this a hotel or a resort.

The rooms in this resort were obviously new w/new high end appliances and very, very spacious in terms of room. From our building we overlooked the pool area and had a clear view to the beach and ocean - we could see the sunrise over the ocean from our beds each morning. With the constant tradewinds we never turned on the a/c but instead left our sliders open each night and were all very comfortable. The pool area was gorgeous and the pool and hot tubs very spacious - plenty of room for all without feeling overcrowded. The resort location seemed central between north and south so travel to different excursions and parts of the island were easy. Even though we were on the main highway, traffic noise wast not an issue - all we could hear was the sounds of the ocean and the birds. The pool area was always kept very clean and was well maintained each morning. The only criticism was the onsite restaurant had a very limited menu and was not very exciting in their offerings and the service was very poor and unprofessional. But given the full kitchens that had every amenity needed and the easy walk to two grocery stores, this would not be a deterrent in recommending this resort nor my returning to it.

The room was beautiful and spacious. The staff was friendly and the hotel was close to everywhere.

Close to the beach - nice pool. No covered smoking area. Beautiful property. Very close to the beach. No smoking is allowed in the rooms which is ok. But there is no where to smoke outside if it is raining or other inclement weather. Would be nice to have a full service restaurant on the property.

We traveled here w/ 2 teen daughters & a 10 yr. old daughter. Each person in the family loved the resort's "look"...the room's were excellent, very high end feeling, spacious, & clean. We enjoyed the extra amenities such as the "I-Homes" in both bdrms, we loved the big bath tubs & felt very spoiled by the end of the week. The location was ideal for us . This hotel allows you easy access to the shopping center across the street for quick grocery trips or trinket shopping at the Longs Drugs or ABC store. Also, it was easy to drive either to Poipu or Hanalei from this location. We're from Southern Cal so a 20 minute drive in either dircetion is not a big deal! The swimming pool was always clean, the pool & bar/snack bar staff were always very energetic, friendly, & professional. Our room was closest to the pool area & each morning by 7:00am, the pool staff was already busy at work testing the water, cleaning up the lounge chairs, raking up the sand, etc. Very hard working department! The food options were fairly limited at the tiki bar so I wouldn't recommend that you could eat dinner here each night & get a different entree but what they did have was decent & about on par w/ the rest of the island for pricing. The drinks were all delicious ! The beach adjacent to the hotel is really quite nice & we enjoyed the added touch of thatched umbrellas & small concrete tables. Our only complaint was that they attempted to give us a room WITHOUT an ocean view at in after we had paid extra for that. No discounts or coupons were offered to compensate. I did get my ocean view after a quick search!

The Waipouli Beach Resort is a new very beautiful setting on the beach in Kapaa. Because they are selling units, those for rent are not in the most desirable of locations. The room we had was a 2 bed 3 bath unit. It was in a corner unit (bldg C) on the top floor. What was bad that is was next door to the trash collection room, which was used all night. Also it faced the main highway where vehicle noise was heard all night. Lack of insulation seemed evident. The outside temp at night was in low 70"s but the interior could not be keep cool, A/C ran all night. The placement of the A/C register (which can not be adjusted) in the Bedroom blew the air directly on the bed, making it uncomfortable. The Master Bed was lumpy (indintations) and the pillows were too small for the size of the bed. The hide-a-bed is not recommended for adults or older children. You can feel the springs on it. The beach is not for swimming due to currents and urchins. One guest ventured in and stepped on an urchin. The bright side is the pool is perfect for children, my daughter loved it and the bar and grill was a great place to eat and have a Mai Tai. Also you can pack light, the in unit W/D was great. Check in and out was fast and easy.

We were super-excited when we arrived at Waipouli Beach Resort, the room did not feel like a hotel at all. It felt like a mini-apartment. It was nicely decorated and had all the kitchen items you could want; there was even laundry detergent. We unpacked and went out to explore and were greeted by cockroaches when we got back. We alerted the front desk and they promptly moved our things. We attributed the pests to having the room right next to the dumpster. Our next room was just as nice and bug-free. Our stay was excellent after that. The pool is more family oriented with two water slides and is only 4 feet deep. The Tahitian Lanai (restaurant/bar) is located on the property and has live music in the evenings although the food and drink is not cheap;) This is a great place to stay because you can make trips to the North or South Shore fairly quickly. It is right across the street from a shopping center with a Safeway (groceries), Starbucks, Longs' Drugs, ABC Store, Subway, Panda Express, Cold Stone, and other little shops.

This was a great resort to stay at. Location was very good. Shopping and food within walking distance. It had a great pool for kids of all ages. Beachfront and beautiful! There is no dinning for breakfast, but does have a full kitchen with grocery store right across the street.

We were initially put off by the lack luster entry and [...]@ reception was a snob over his messy work area--Once we got to our room, we were VERY surprised! It reminded me of the Ritz Carlton in St Thomas: Plantation style, with heavy mahogony doors/moldings. Modern kitchen with all amenities. The pool looked great but we hung @the beach with our own private hut/lounge chairs where we would see maybe 5 people during our days of sunning. We will definately come back with the kids and rent a 2 bedroom--then we will hang out at the cool looking waterslides@the pool!

This hotel was very welcoming to us when we stayed. All the workers were welcoming to us and was always asking if there was anything we needed. The rooms were just amazing. We checked into the one bedroom, two bath. What was interesting with this room was that there was really two bedrooms. The property grounds were very clean and very open. The only drawback to this property is that roomservice does not make beds, and the tower we stayd in does not have an elevator. Aside from all thats good, within the first day, those two drawbacks didnt nag us one bit. We were nervous that the pool area would be flooded with kids...and there were quite a few, but the pool area is so big, there was plenty of room to maintain our "bubble" from everyone else. The bar on the property is pretty nice, but nothing special. The beach on the resort is very pretty if you want to walk along the water. It is not a swimmable beach but there is much better eye catchin beaches within a short distance that your gonna prefer to swim at anyways. Resort is in a great location with a shopping mall across the street and some restaurants across the street as well. Overall the resort is fantastic and well worth trying out. Its one of the more expensive resorts on the island, but the location and ammentities make up for it real quick.

The room itself was very nice, clean and spacious. The pool was great. The staff was friendly. There were a few locals at the pool on the weekend but they were not bothering anyone. We booked a partial ocean view room which was mostly a view of the parking lot. You could see the ocean if you leaned over the balcony. The view is not that important to us, though, and would definately stay again. Having a kitchen, washer and dryer was a definite plus. Safeway is right across the street which makes the location unbeatable.

First time to Hawaii. What a wonderful resort! I would have loved it even if we had never left it. We did do other activities, but always looked forward to returning and relaxing. Great waterslides! Had a blast!

This hotel was great. The rooms are very nicely furnished and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for you stay. There are also washer and dryer inside the room. The pool is great, so is the bar that's located close to it. The whole stay was very enjoyable and I would recommend this place to anyone that wants to go there.

Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort was wonderful. The rooms are very spacious and clean. We had a two bedroom condo with three bathrooms. The kitchen had granite countertops with top of the line appliances. The resort staff was great. The pool area was very nice. It was very difficult to leave such a nice place. We would go back in a heartbeat.

The Outrigger Waipouli Beach Resort & Spa, KAPAA, HI was amazing. Beautiful location, beautiful resort, and all around great. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Plenty of close places available for recreation and dining Rooms were immaculate. I definately will consider returning.

The Outrigger Waipouli is a great find. Since it has only been open for less than a year, it is not as well known as other hotels on the island, which is great because it was not crowded during our stay. The accomodations are fantastic-we were in a 2 bedroom condo with plenty of space and top notch appliances. I thoroughly enjoyed the upgraded kitchen (including Subzero refrigerator and state of the art stove, dishwasher, etc). It was also very convenient to have a washer/dryer in the unit for cleaning clothes after a day on the beach or enjoying many of Kauai's adventerous activities such as ATVing, zip lining, hiking, etc. The hotel staff was very helpful, especially the activities desk staff who helped us plan our week's stay. We would definitely return to this hotel on our next trip to Kauai.
