The Outrigger Waikiki Shore was a big disappointment from the get go. It was hard to locate, the check in was confusing since you do not check in at the front desk. We had to find the check in person by asking at the Outrigger Reef hotel. We were told we would have access to all the amenities of the Outrigger Reef which was not so. We were denied use of the Outrigger Reef's facilities. The room was very, very worn and dingy. The view was spectacular but we felt we were entering a jail each time we reached our room. It was the first time we did not look forward to returning to our room. We visit Honolulu 4-5 times a year. These were the worst accomidations we have experienced.

We liked that it had a kitchenette , washer & drier & that you could see the beach from our balcony. The staff was very rude. The beds & pillows were uncomfortable. At night it was so noisy you couldn't sleep. All in all, we wouldn't recommend this appartment. It was difficult to get to, the staff was rude, the elevators only worked part of the time & the noise was inexcusable. It did have some conveniences such as being near the beach, having a washer & drier, & kitchenette which is nice when traveling with a family, but the other above mentioned things outweighed the positive. It was NOT a kid friendly environment. We could hardly wait to leave.

The room had full kitchen and washer/dryer. The point of getting a condo is to be on your own and when we needed service it was friendly and helpful! The room was clean and well maintained. Waikiki area is very crowded and congested and there is not much that can be done about that. It seems like they are working in different areas of the hotel to update it, but none of the construction that they were doing was disruptive. Overall, excellent experience and will probably stay there again the next time I am in Hawaii.

We loved it! Not a lot of activities at this condo but we spent most of our time at other resorts. Outrigger which was next door was under construction and probably will be for the next 6 months. Donald Trumps building was sprouting nicely! Which is right behind Castle and Outrigger. Can't wait to go back to Hawaii next year. Our room was always clean and maid service was prompt each day. Safe in room was secured by 1 key! View was beautiful. So much to do in Hawaii.

We have stayed at the Waikiki Shore for our last 3 trips. Having lived on Oahu for 10 years, I find this Condo a GREAT place for all. It is beach front with super balcony ocean views from most rooms. It was quiet & very serene as I looked out over the park at Fort De Russy. This is also a good place to visit. It is a free Army museum, and a good look at the past. The condo rooms are immaculate, well maintained and are equipped with a full kitchen as well as a washer and dryer. Beds are comfortable & decorations are in the Hawaiian style. I especially liked having my own room safe to use free of charge. Security is also a plus. There are special keys that only hotel guests have to access the areas where the elevators are located, so no outsiders can get to this. When going to the beach, we chose to leave our "fob" at the desk & picked it up when returning the free towels that they provide. Service from all staff is impeccable. They were freindly and caring. It is the true spirit of "Ohana". Now mind you, it does not have all glitz & the foo foo lobbies as the high end hotels do, but why do you really need that? Many of the finest as well as family style resturants are within easy walking distance. The bus & trolley stop are also near by. As for the beach, the bottom at DeRussy is a bit rocky, but there are others that are sandy just a few steps away. It is also right next to the Hilton Hawaiian Village, where you can shop, browse, or board a ship that takes you to the Atlantis submarine for a spectacular underwater adventure. Right next door is the Outrigger Hotel which has an absolutely wondreful resturant called the Shorebird. It offers 3 buffet meals that are stupendous & very cost efficient. Coupons for 50% off the second meal are found in the small travel books located in the lobby or at stands on the street. The room rates are also very affordable, as compared to other $$$ hotels that offer balconys, but only look at another building! There is no pool but why d

The 1 brm unit was newly renovated. These units are all owned by different owners, so it really depends on which unit you get. Ours was beautiful with a wonderful full view of the ocean from the sixth floor. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bedroom had a king bed and leather pull out sofa. We never heard any construction noise from the unit. The washer/dryer was great. We would stay there again in the near future and have recommended it to all our friends.

Booked a 2 night trip here while staying on Maui. Room description was "Deluxe Ocean View" When we arrived in the room, it was on the street end of the building, and balcony overlooked Ft DeRussy Park with an excellen view of the tanks and equipment in front of the museum. If you stood on the edge of the balcony you could see a sliver of blue that probably was the ocean. Management would not budge when we told them the room was not as advertised so we wound up checking out of the place and going next door to the Outrigger Reef on the Beach at our own expense. If you stay here, be aware that this might happen to you

The location was convenient and the option of a lanai was attractive. The staff at Castle Waikiki Shore are friendly and so very helpful. The room itself was great, partly because of it having a coffee maker, stove, refrigerator, washer/dryer - but primarily because of the view from the lanai (balcony) and the proximity to the beach (downstairs and a few steps away!) All of the amenities of the area - shopping, restaurants, parks - are within walking distance, but the hotel is also on the bus route (a definite plus in a city where parking can be scarce). I had to attend business meetings several miles away, and could have stayed at the host hotel. I am soooo glad I opted for Castle Waikiki Shore instead. It made the trip very relaxing, very productive, and very memorable. Mahalo!

One word, underrated. Booked the ocean front, expected central air for the price tag, got 3 window units, if you ran all 3 at the same time, it blew a fuse, so we could only use 2. I spoke to the Maint. Staff sent to fix the breaker and he said that this is always an issue with the unit. Talked to the front desk staff and manager who offered us a discount of about 20%, we were kind of stuck since I already laid out a deposit and booked the reservation back in Feb, for an Oct stay. I had to wait in line to complain since I was not the only one who had a issue with the accommodations. We never could open the blinds to see the beach because the room would heat up like a oven, and it would take several hours to cool it down again. The bedroom on the balcony was neat, but it did not have air conditioning, so you were left to open the windows, which was comfortable, until they cleaned the beach at 4 A.M. every morning. Waking up to Rumble Rumble, Beep Beep for about 30 minutes, every morning, was perfect for my relaxing quite Hawaiian vacation. Needless to say these units are old, and due some refurbishing. As in other reviews construction will be going on behind the unit so expect traffic getting to and from the building. Not to mention the pole you have squeeze into in order to park. Don't expect the SUV you rent to fit into these parking spaces, our minivan barely made it. The maid's came daily, but did not speak any English.

The Good - Very clean, great location, wonderful viewThe Bad - 2 twin beds pushed together for 1 queen, not the 2 double beds we expected. The Irritating - One very Slow elevator - Second elevator was out of order; But on the plus side, we took the stairs a lot resulting in less vacation pounds we need to loose! Bottom Line - WE LOVED IT AND WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN!We stayed 6 days at the Castle Waikiki Shore Resort over Thanksgiving 2007 and loved this location and room. The view from the balcony was fantastic! The one-bedroom unit was very large; however the one-bedroom is really just an accordion divider separating the bed from the living room. It was very nice having a washer and dryer in the room. The kitchen facilities were fine. Had dishes and cookware, but you will need your own salt, pepper & sugar. With 2 teen boys, the bedding was a bit of a disappointment since we only had two twin beds pushed together rather than 2 double beds as expected. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable. Ended up buying air mattresses from Wal-Mart for the boys. The parking garage was convenient given the parking in Waikiki and seemed reasonable at 18 per day. Very nice having an assigned parking spot, but don't expect to park a very large vehicle. These spots are SMALL!Convenient location within walking distance of great restaurants. A couple of miles from Wal-Mart and a new large Safeway grocery store.

I have 2 children (ages 19, 8) who are VERY picky eaters. It was great to have a kitchen available. The Wal-mart is a short 5 minute drive and you can stock up on just about anything you need for a quick snack, light breakfast, etc. Although the hotel states each room comes with a sofa bed, my room had a futon. It wasn't really comfortable but functional.

Our condo was great. Loved that it was right on the beach. We were booked for deluxe ocean view and that's what we got. It was a beautiful view. Liked the fact that the mirror on the lanai wall provided the same view. Appreciated the security and the washer/dryer. On previous trip we stayed at the Outrigger Reef but prefer the condo and would stay again. It was close to great dining and shopping. We booked our activities with the condo concierge and were satisfied with the results. Our room was clean and the staff and at the front desk friendly and helpful. In all, it was a great stay.

It was a really nice location, close to everything, shopping and food. Was supposed to be a deluxe ocean view that maybe would have been a partial ocean view if the palm trees were shorter. The room was nice and clean. Staff was really accomadating aside from the ocean view issue. Had a really amazing time other than that.

The Castle Waikiki Shore was a great way for our family of 4 to stay right on Waikiki beach. We chose the ocean view/1 bedroom suite. The apartment was spacious with closets and cupboards for storage. It included a full kitchen, 1 bath, a dining area with table and chairs, a large living room with a queen foldout, and a huge lanaui the length of the apartment. The west facing lanaui overlooked the Fort DeRussey green, thus we had an unobstructed view of the sunsets and moonrises over the ocean, the city, and the mountains behind us. We were within a few blocks of the main Waikiki strip, with quick access to restaurants, shopping, and convenience stores. The bedroom was not divided from the living area with a wall, but by a pull out room divider that you could retract during the day. If someone wanted total privacy, they would be uncomfortable with this arrangement. There was no pool, but who needs that when you have the beach! Nice staff, clean and nicely decorated rooms! If we came back, we would stay here again. For us, it was much better than being crammed into a small hotel room just to be on the beach, and forced to eat all meals out. We had breakfast every morning, and cocktails at sunset on our lanaui!

Everything was perfect! We had the garden view room that overlooked the Fort DeRussy Park, beautiful, and a bit of an ocean view too! Rooms were large & clean. The kitchen helped defray meal costs. Construction going on all around Waikiki, but it was tolerable. Everything was within walking distance on Waikiki, make sure you visit the ABC store upon your arrival and if you can go to the Aloha Stadium swap meet on Saturdays & Tuesdays. Don't buy any souvenirs until you visit here! If you have a car you can drive, if not ask your concierge for transportation info.

The Castle Waikiki shores is just like staying in your own apartment-If your apartment overlooked the Pacific Ocean and downtown Honolulu. The rooms are large, the balcones are large and the bathrooms are large. The furinshings are simple and comfortable and there are plenty of extra pillows and blankets in the closets. The kitchens are big too and whatever you might need to cook with. You can walk to anyplace in the Waikiki area and yet it is very quiet in the room at night.

Waikiki Shores is a wonderful place for beach/sun lovers. There is no pool but you are right on the beach. Our view was terrific! The Fort DeRussy Park area in front and Waikiki Beach on the left. Good dining options in the area within walking distance. Not only did we have a fridge, stove and microwave but a washer and dryer! In a studio. We will definetly go back.

The facility is actually a condo building with 1 & 2 bedroom units located at the west end of Waikiki. All units have glass sliding doors and balcony overlooking Fort DeRussy Park looking toward downtown Honolulu and the sunset. The views are unobstructed and beautiful. Access to Waikiki beach is from the back gate of the building. Fine restaurants and shops in the neighboring hotels are only a block away. The Shore Bird Restaurant in the adjacent hotel is a personal favorite. The condo building has few amenities of it's own, but beach rentals for surfboards, kayaks, snorkling, outrigger canoes, and sunset boat rides are right on the beach behind the hotel. Our room was spacious with a kitchenette and large bathroom. The decor was pleasant. The best feature was the balcony overlooking the beach and the park where we spent our mornings and evenings with the neighboring birds. We thought it was a good value and great location and we will return and recommend it to others.

The Castle at Wakaiki Shore was very accomodating for our family of six (we had 2 rooms). The views from our rooms were gorgeous with land of green palms trees and grass, white sand beach, and turquoise and marine blue ocean during the day as well as twinkling lights at night. Our disappointment of lack of pool was ameliorated by the closeness of the beautiful water at the beach.
