Although our stay at the hotel was basically just for sleep and some rest in between our activities the staff was awesome about taking care of our room and making sure things like the towels and everything else were restocked every morning. We were also amazed that even though the room was not an oceanview room that we could still wake up every morning and look out on the balcony and the ocean was right there. I definitely recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay in an area that has a great atmosphere and many different local places to hang out and have fun after hours. Oh and don't forget all the shopping!!! I don't think I have ever seen so many places that held the next potential gift for someone else back at home. It was wonderful!!!!

Location, cleanliness, and friendly. Too noisy at night from street noise.

I would recommend this hotel.

I will start with the not so good, then let you know the good. When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by the head valet, who we gave a tip. Then he showed us to the front desk, and had the bell boy take our luggage to our room (we gave him another tip), then we had requested a crib for our baby and it was delivered a few minutes after our luggage, and when we didn't instantly give the guy a tip, he basically stormed out, as we said thank you and his response was "yeah." A couple days later I was standing by the bell desk (they must not have seen me standing there) because a few employees were talking about guests they had just "buttered up" (sounded like plain customer service), by telling them about a restaurant, but the guest's "hand just stayed in their pocket" - so the employee was complaining about not receiving a tip. I realize tipping is a nice courtesy these days, but it just seemed like every time you turned around, the employees had their hands out wiating for a tip. Also, there is still noisy construction going on, so it interrupts a nice morning by the pool. Good: Live music every night, Starbucks downstairs, and the restaurant has good food.

My husband and I spent our 30th anniversary here and enjoyed every minute of it. I would recommend renewing your vows like we did. You can do this through the hotel. Everyone was very friendly and we would stay again in a heartbeat. We had a simple saver room and even though it was on the 2nd floor, we heard little street noise, which may have been due to being tired and sleeping well. No one told us that you needed to use your room key when you use the elevator, so keep that in mind. The drinking water at the pool was a nice touch, since you cannot take coolers, etc. down there. Previous reviews we read stated that the pool was small. I did not find that at all, however there is salt water in it that you keeps you afloot in the 8 ft. deep end. I found the pool very refreshing.

Enjoyed the central location and access to the beach front. Overall I think this was a great hotel. I am a repeat customer but first time user of Priceline. I'm very happy with the price I was able to get and with the hotel. It's in a prime area for everything. Hotel was accommodating when I asked to be moved to a quieter room away from the street music even though they were at 98% capacity. I would definitely use Priceline again.

Was there in mid April 2009. It's a great place to stay, maybe the best location on the beach. We upgraded to an ocean front view, cost more but worth it if you want to sit on the balcony and enjoy the view. The people at the hotel were very very nice. The food is really good !!! Dukes is a very popular place to eat, it opens up to the beach and the food is just great. I vote Duke's as the best cheese burger on earth. You can go to the walkup bar and order food to go if you want to take it back to your room. The Hula Grill also at the Outrigger has excellent food too. The hotel's location my be the best on the beach. It's withing walking distance of lot's of shopping locations, not to far to the zoo and aquarium (I thought Honolulu would have a better aquarium... you will not miss much if you skip it). If you want to travel around the island, the hotel can arrange a car at a very good price. The only negative would be that you could hear noise from the next door rooms... I am sure if it was too loud, the hotel could put you on another floor... our room's noise wasn't that bad, and the view and location more than made up for a little noise...... location, location, location.... and very friendly staff

This hotel is great!! There are a ton of hotels to chose from and this is one of the best. It's right on the beach and near the shopping centers. The view from our room was great. The staff was always willing to help us and didn't act like it was a chore to help. The rooms were always clean when we returned from our daily activities. Dukes was great!!! You have to eat the breakfast, its great food!!!!

We had a really great time at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach. We found the staff extremely helpful and courteous. We had a City View but could still see the ocean from the balcony. The restaurant was good and the prices were reasonable. The beach at the hotel was the absolute best. Best location if you like to be in the middle of shopping and action at night. Can walk to many restaurants. The only bad thing was the extremely expensive parking, $25.00 a day, that adds up quickly. I would have liked to be warned about that. There is a garage a couple of blocks away that was a lot cheaper but we did not know about it soon enough. You could easily get by without a car. The tour packages usually provide all the transportation you need and a cab would have worked well and saved us a lot of money for as much as we used the car.

The hotel was very elegant, and located in the heart of Waikiki. The hotel was very elegant, and located in the heart of Waikiki. The hotel staff was helpful, and always curtious. Access to this hotel from the street is not convenient at all. Many buses, vans, delivery, and pickup vehicles park and block the lane and near the entrance. It is dangerous to get in and out. Recommend you do not park a rental or personal vehicle there; it is much better to walk or take public transportation. The free internet went down for the second half of our 10 day stay; this was a selling point for the room, as it was to allow us access to work and school while we were staying at the hotel.

This hotel is our favorite in Waikiki....perfect location and great amenities. I recommend it to all my friends. You have everything -- great food, spas, beach, pool, Seattle Coffee, stores, great views, activities center. People are all very friendly and helpful. We totally love it!

We had two Oceanfront rooms. The view is spectacular. The hotel is right across the street from the International Market, which was nice because we were able to walk across and shop for souvenier just whenever we had some extra time between thing. The beach is right there just past the pool. If you get out there early, you can get a chair in the shade of the palm trees right between the pool and the sand. We went on some tours and were picked up just two blocks away. I thought about renting a car, but I was glad that we didn't. Between walking, public bus, tour bus, and taxis, we didn't really need one. We enjoyed Duke's restaurant for dinner and several quick breakfasts at Seattle's Best - both attached to the hotel. Only one minor complaint - we asked for a new internet cable and the front desk said no problemm they would bring it, but nobody ever showed up. Other than that, service was excellent.

Our trip to the Outrigger was fantastic. The rooms were very clean, and we had an ocean view room, which was awesome. Staff was VERY friendly and the hotel was in the prime location of Waikiki Beach. They also have 3 very good restaurants. The only thing that was slightly annoying was the noise outside of our hotel room. At times, it seemed the walls must have been paper thin. One night our neighbors had their TV on and i could hear what it was saying pretty clearly. I was also awakened several times by loud people out in the hallway and slamming of doors. But despite that, everything else was great and I would definitely stay there again.

I never write reviews, but I picked a good one the 2 best and most popular restaurants are located in this hotel the breakfast buffet was the best priced in town. New door what twice the price in every facit. The beach was great right behind the hotel the water was 4 feet high for about 100 yards out so both of my small children surfed and played in the water save and sound. We went next door for breakfast and it was 27 dollar a person and in our hotel it was 14 for the samething. This one is located accross the street from the international market and far enough from the public beach to only have hotel guest on the beach. Its right in the middle of all the action so you would end up at this place at some point on your vacation anyway. You dont need a car if you stay here all is here with shopping in the lobby and at least 30 ABC stores with in 3 blocks. Goin back in Nov and we will stay there again.

I spent a week at Pacific Beach and couldn't have been more pleased. As a business traveler it's important that I have ample easy parking, quality restaurants with convenient hours, a nice place to relax, and a safe place to take an evening walk. I had all of this at Pacific Beach! Everyone there was wonderful, the view was incredible and I can't wait to go back on my next business trip!

The hotel was very conveniently located and well-maintained. It was nice to stay there and be at the beach except Kalakaua street was very noisy and you can hear everything in the hotel room. I would've liked to leave the sliding door open a little in the evening to hear the ocean but there was no way. Overall it is a beautiful hotel, but they need to work on sound reinforcement to improve the guest experience.

The location was great. Having Dukes in the hotel was nice. Our room overlooked a roof that had a/c units going so it was noisy when we opened up the sliding glass door. Good location. Better that expected room amenities as it is an older property, but appears to have been recently updated.

10 days - March, 2009 Our second stay here (March 2007) and very pleased again. My wife and I agree this is a wonderful, clean and safe place to stay. Staff is always pleasant and helpful. Poolside service and waitstaff always good. Breakfast buffet and food at Duke's is excellent and fairly priced. Fitness Center is smaller but immaculate. Spa is typically pricey but very professional and - soothing. Society of Seven is entertaining but a little outdated. If you enjoy lazing near the ocean by day and walking/shopping each evening this is the place to be. With the new Royal Hawaiian shopping center and Beachwalk now mostly open, there are even more places to go. We took the city bus to Diamond Head and hiked up to see the great view of the island. Not too strenuous (we are 50) and still cool in the morning when we went. This year we took a food tour with Hawaiian Food Tours - - a unique trip and very fun and informative. We took their "hole-in-the-wall" tour to small local bakeries, grocery markets and restaurants and had a running commentary from these two fun-loving locals. I think you can find them on In 2007 we went to Pearl Harbor - the Arizona Memorial and Missouri - a must see - and spent a day at the Ploynesian Cultural Center on the North Shore. Already planning next trip for 2010 - back at Outrigger on the Beach.
