This is a beautiful hotel! There is always pros and cons. The rooms were great. A very clean hotel. The Pool was big. We were there for our honeymoon and they don't do anything for honeymooners like alot of the other hotels do like breakfast in the mornings, free room upgrade, room decorated upon arrival with champagne, chocolate, strawberries, etc. If your going to honeymoon, just do some research. We were on the pool side and it was VERY noisy. They are building a new trumph tower across the street so from morning to afternoon you hear LOUD equipment, banging etc, then afternoon til night, the pool area is pretty loud. The beach in front of this hotel is VERY small. This is my first time in Hawaii and the Outrigger so I didn't have anything to compare it to. Overall the hotel inside is beautiful. I give everything a second chance.

Ideal location on the beach. Good eating options in house. Recently renovated rooms are like new. Ocean view room really did have an ocean view. Would definitely stay there on our next visit.

Outrigger Reef was right on the beach and was close to great shopping areas and bus routes. It included an activities desk where we could book tours easily. The hotel service was excellent and the rooms had many extras, very beautiful! The beds and pillows were the most comfortable I had ever slept on. The room was spacious and had a good sized balcony with a partial ocean view. Since our return flight was late at night, we were able to use all the hotel facilities after checking out and could check our luggage and were able to use a hospitality room for 30 minutes so we could wash off the sand before leaving for the airport. There were also coupons available for discounts on meals and our package included free breakfast buffets.

My wife and I really enjoyed this hotel during our honeymoon. All of the staff was very helpful and friendly while answering our questions. They were quick to respond to any of your concerns. They also had helpful advice about the island. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The hotel had just been renovated and they were still finishing a few small jobs, however you had to look hard to even notice. We enjoyed eating at the restaurants at the hotel and appreciated the convenience stores in the lobby. We would definitely return for another stay!

For the money, this is the best hotel room I have ever stayed at! Maids were a bit sloppy with hanging the towels and left dirty washcloth on floor. The staff met us at the entry and new our names, check in was short and pleasant. Although the room was listed as pool view you could see the ocean from the balcony. The bed and pillows sleep better than my own (and I have upgraded stuff). The colors and quality of the room were excellent. Right on the beach and Waikiki. We vacation every year and have been to other hotels in Hawaii and this was the best! I have already recommended it to family and friends!

This was my first visit to Hawaii and my first time lodging at an Outrigger hotel. This hotel had been recently renovated and they did a nice job. This hotel is close to the shopping district, the public transportation line, and the not to mention the beach. The room was spacious and clean. The lobby of the hotel is open so you can be slightly indoors yet enjoy fresh air from the outdoors. The "sit down" reception desk was a welcomed treat after traveling for such a long time. I would stay here again on my next visit to Wakkiki.

Room was ready when we arrived before 9am. We used to change into swim suits and make an appointment to parasail. My wife (70) and son parasailed. It was great. After we had a nice lunch and my wife and I left at 2:45 for airport my son and his family left at 6:00pm for their flight. It was great to have room to relax in. Thank you Outrigger.

All staff were friendly, courteous and helpful to the maximum. The room was huge but dictated no view. I stayed in this hotel 10 years ago and while the friendliness, courteousness and helpfulness of the staff is still wonderful, the renovations were spectacular. Everything was clean, well managed and roomy. Our room, while having a poor view of neighboring hotel rooms was huge and the front desk had told us it was small. We loved it.

We stayed at the Reef on the beach from Feb. 22nd for one week. We booked online with the most basic room type and then upgraded when we arrived. Do not upgrade before you get there or you will probably pay the full rate difference. We upgraded to an oceanfront room on the 5th floor. We had two decks and a full 180 degree view of the ocean and diamondhead. Upgrades when you arrive are based on availability but in general, Waikiki rooms are down compared to normal levels and were readily available. You'll pay roughly 50% of the upgrade price so this ended being far less than booking an oceanfront room online. The room was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and I would recommend the Shorebird restaurant for drinks and the Ocean House for dinner (best Prime Rib in Waikiki). Would definately 100% stayt here again.

Will definitely stay here again...the Outrigger is located right on the beach and in walking distance of several attractions. The rooms were nice and clean and the staff was friendly. The pool and spa hours need to be extended; they close at 8:00 p.m.

The remodeled room was comfortable and spacious. The construction noise started too early. The remodeled rooms are very comfortable. It's great to have a Starbucks and jamb juice in the entrance. Being able to walk directly to the beach is great. The location is also nice in the sense that you can walk to most anything in Waikiki and it's easy to access the freeway for other island excursions. The parking charge ($25 daily) seems steep but I think it might be typical for the local hotels.

The renovations are almost complete and I must say bravo! This hotel is gorgeous. Our room was immaculate, the staff was beyond helpful and courteous and Elaine, the bartender at the Shorebird, was a delight. This hotel is on the quieter end of Waikiki so the beach was not as crowded. That was a big plus. If you decide the pool is more your style you won't be disappointed.....It's brand new and beautiful. Over all I'd give the Outrigger an A+

My wife and I stayed at the Outrigger for our 25th anniversary. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a partial oceanview room. The room was very clean and the entire hotel was clean and well maintained. There is a $25 a day charge to park a rental car. They will valet park it for you, but I suggest to look it over each time they bring it back to you. Our car had a few scratches on the sides, probably from close parking and the staff squeezing between the cars. Parking in town is hard to find, but you will want a car to travel around the island and see the sights. By the way, if you rent a car, make sure you get a GPS. Hawaii is not the most bountiful state for road signs or even posted addresses. We had a package that included breakfast for 2 each day. That was great. Shorebirds has a great breakfast. They open at 7:00am and there is always people waiting for them to open. If you eat dinner at Shorebirds, it has a large grill and you cook your own entree'. The Ocean House restaurant is located across from Shorebirds. I ate there once. It is very pricey and my food wasn't that great. The hotel is on the beach and has a great view of Diamond Head. Make sure you purchase some water shoes to go in the ocean. There are lots of small rocks and shells and it would be difficult to walk without shoes. There is alot of shopping within walking distance. Overall, it was a great vacation and I would stay there again.

Newly redecorated beautiful rooms. Ongoing renovation of parts of the building, 1 elevator not working. Friendly staff, lovely rooms with beautiful beach view, nice beach, convenient location, relaxing atmosphere, nice complimentary activities (lei making, hula lessons, plant walk, name translated into Hawaiian).

We were so happy with the Outrigger, I doubt we would stay anywhere else. It is in the best possible location, and is between two hotels that charge twice as much, and they don't offer the restaurants and entertainment that the Outrigger does. Walk out the backside of the hotel and there you are.......on the beach!!!

Loved the room, even though it wasn't the type of room I had asked for. The bed was comfortable with great pillows! The staff was friendly and willing to help!

Location right on beach. Room was in terrible shape. Ceiling crumbling above us! Construction everywhere. Noise. What a disappointment. This hotel was hard to get to on the day we arrived. There was construction going on and there was no way to enter the "drive-up" part of the hotel. After four attempts (driving around and around the blocks), a construction vehicle was moved and we were able to drive up to the hotel entrance. This took over an hour. Upon check in we were informed that we could not use the room we had booked because we had our toddler with us. We explained that he did not need a bed (we travel with bedding for him) and that I was fully aware that we would likely receive a room with only one bed (which was fine with us). The upgraded room was falling apart. Stained carpets, and if you moved the curtains, pieces of ceiling fell down on the hide-a-bed below the curtains. You can't adjust the air conditioner. It's either high or low no temperature control. We would have preferred to have the fresh air with the window open, however there was so much construction noise during the day, and traffic noise in the evening. The pool was much too small for such a large hotel. Once the beach-front wing remodel is completed and occupied, the pool area will not suffice or meet the needs of customers wanting a break from the beach (example: windy days or when the ocean is especially cold).the location is top-notch! This alone saved the hotel stay. The restaurant next to the pool had reasonable prices for breakfast and very delicious macadamia nut pancakes. Absolutely the best I have ever had.

The hotel was excellent. Great staff, very helfful. We enjoyed eating at the shorebird resturant. The shorebird is right on the beach. A perfect place to enjoy the sunset while sipping on a drink.
