We had a great time and the Condo was PERFECT! It was a huge 2 bedroom with a loft. There was pleanty of room in the condo for all four of us. The lanai was great over-looking the golf course, and the one off of the master bedroom was nice too. They came in everyday to give us new towels, and changed our sheets every 3 days. We have stayed in other Condos at the other islands, and never had our bed changed without paying a fee, or received new towels. It was nice to have clean, non-sand bedding put on our beds. We did a lot of snorkeling all over the island, but the best place was only about a five minute drive. This was our first time to the Big Island, and we really enjoyed it.

The ocean view. The guest service lady was rude! The room was a bit dirty and cob webs all over!

Had a 2 bed 2 bath w/fairway view. Very clean and re modeled. Good location off the beaten track but close enough when we needed something. Friendly staff and restaurant was simple but good cooking, no dinner hours tho and the restaurant has a great view for sunsets, its just not open at that time. "Activities Director" just pushed time share and the big discount if we'd go to her luncheon, prices on activities from some of the places in town were just as good. But we will definitely choose to stay here again.

Very good base for the family as it moves from all the various locations on the Big Island. Multiple snorkling locations near by and a lot of local shopping (i.e. Walmart) that allows you to save money. Concierge was very helpful. The rest of the staff is pretty hands off. If you are looking for sandy beaches, probably need to look more north. If you are looking for a lot of space for a family that you can call home for a few weeks, this is your place.

Really enjoyed the place! It is very quiet. Service was very good. The one-bedroom place was clean and roomy with spacious decks and large rooms and well equipped kitchen. Landscaping is nice--lots of trees and flowers. Furnishings were a bit dated but comfortable; for a beach setting, style is not top on our list. Location is convenient (short drive) to the snorkeling beach about 1/2 mile down the road and close to the shoping center for groceries. Very convenient for golfers. Not excellent for walkability to a beach if that is your main aim.

These condos are older than the online pictures make them look. Most don't even have air conditioning and the ones that do charge you an extra 15$ per night for AC. Also 14$ per night extra for internet access. If you are going to a beach, you better have a car, because there is no beach here. We checked out 3 days early because we could not get connected to the web. And I have been in IT for 15 years.

The overall hotel is a 3+ star experience. The food is OK, but the buffet is ALWAYS COLD. The room air cond.is either freezing or stuffy. There is no HBO. The snack shop next to the beach will not let you charge to the room. The snorkeling beach is amazing. The pool is small but clean; there is a large green grassy area with lounge chairs looking over the ocean. The Green Sea Turtles are EVERYWHERE? The location is great. Hint: Wal-Mart, Kona great prices on souvenirs, less than half of that in the village!

This property has beautiful, lush landscaping. The 2br, 2ba condo was huge. The bathrooms could use some updates (shower doors with lg amt scum buildup and rust). Parking is covered, but our neigbors felt the need to park in our spot...we didn't care. Ate at the onsite restuarant only once due to running around other parts of the island---was very good for breakfast right at the ocean's edge. Biggest disappointment: charging for air conditioner!!! Found this out after our arrival. A great place for families.

We had a beautifully furnished condo overlooking the ocean and pool. It was spacious and clean with maid service. The first two condos we were shown were not up to our expectations, but the reservation hostess finally gave us a really nice one. It also helped that there was a low occupancy level this year of "staycations." The Keauhou area is the sunniest area near central Kona town, and only a mile from our favorite snorkeling beach, Kahalu'u, with its turtles. The resident restaurant went out of business so you have to go outside to the Keauhou shopping center nearby or to town if you want to eat out. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and the area quiet except from the usual noises from the children pool areas.

GOOD: Our condo was very clean and we had a nice view of the ocean. It was a gated community and we felt safe. Staff was friendly. BAD: Our condo was was old and dated. Dishes and silverware were old and looked dirty. Dishwasher was rusted. We had many geckos (well, it is Hawaii) and ants. The pool closed at the early hour of 6pm. The restaurant was closed due to a change of ownership. Beach towels were not always available.

The condo was huge, comfortable and not outdated at all. We loved the deck and fabulous bay/ocean views. Great location near Kailua-Kona; easy to get lots of places from here. Several good restaurants are within just a few minutes. Easy drive to the volcano and numerous beaches.

We had a quiet and relaxing stay in a ground floor, ocean view, one-bedroom condo (two baths). The grounds were beautiful. The condo was about 75 feet from the ocean with beautiful tropical trees and plants surounding it. You would need to book a two-bedroom unit to get ocean front and these would also be very private. The two-bedrooms were two floors with four units per building, and the one-bedroom units were three floors with six units per building. Every morning we saw geckos sunning themselves on the plants, as well as beautiful birds. The condo had plenty of ammenities. We worried about not having AC, but it was not a problem. We stayed there in the last half of May, 2008; in the evening there was a cool ocean breeze and in the morning there was a cool breeze coming from the mountain. The restaurant has closed. The condos are out of town and private with a guard at the entrance. Everyone, including other guests, was very friendly.

This Condo is located in a beautiful setting on the ocean with a great view from our Lanai. The sunsets from the property are incredible. It is close to the Kona restaurants but also centrally located to visit other parts of the island. The inside was clean & comfortable and the staff was always friendly.

The condo was very homelike and had all the accomodations of a home which made it nice for us. We do not like to go out to eat all our meals so it provided us the option to eat there as well as barbeque. The location was near a shopping center as well as near the beaches.

The Outrigger Kanaloa Condominiums are an excellent value. The condos are spacious, well furnished and quiet. The location is also excellent - only ten minutes from Kona town, and a few minutes to snorkeling areas. The on-site restaurant is situated right on the oceanfront and is excellent. If you are familiar with Kona, you'll know that a lot of the condos are noisy because they are situated in the middle of the tourist areas. The Kanaloa is a few miles south of Kona town and provides a lot of privacy, peace and quiet. I would highly recommend the Kanaloa to anyone who is looking for true Hawaiian style in quiet location.

"We enjoyed our stay very much. The twin beds were uncomfortable for the kids and the kitchen is not finished and needs updating, but the location is great, quiet and close to everything."

"The best thing about this place is its location: Walking distance to a major shopping mall, few miles from Kona and couple of miles from one of the best snorkeling locations in the Island. The rooms are relatively clean but outdated. Pools were small and hot tubs were lukewarm and not jetting water. Expect to pay an additional $15/day if you intent to use AC. If you have trouble go up stairs, you may want to pass on this place, most of the rooms have at least 15 steps some as much as 30. There are no elevators."
